I only caught bits and pieces of the two hour show tonight but I have to say I am really looking forward to this season.

Both the mens blue team and the womens red team started off horribly! With a blue member being kicked out during the dinner service. With the blue man leaving, Robert, an old favorite from last season who had to leave due to medical reasons was welcomed back into the show.
Both teams were horrible and Chef Ramsey was forced to shut the kitchen down.

In the next dinner service... well it wasnt much better than the first. It was actually so bad that Gordon sent out free shrimp and shut the kitchen down early. He was mortified.

The ending of the show will make me look back again for next week. I do not know any names, but one member of the blue team yelled at Chef and eventually told him that he wasnt his b**** and threatened to fight him...

TO BE CONTINUED.....

thats how they ended it with previews of next weeks shows with the firedepartment and medics. What happened? I guess we will have to wait to see.

Sorry if this was brief and did not give much. As I said, I only caught pieces of it, i hope somebody can fill in my blanks.

I think its the worst cast ever so far. I swear does anyone watch the show before auditioning?
shining star is that girl who kept telling the blonde that her chicken was raw. Don't know names yet.

Its hard to recap a 2 hour show when you've had some wine. LOL. There may be a recap in the works but for now...

So, as Daddyslittledefect stated, the ending is where it all comes down.
Some highlights that I CAN remember, in no particular order:

There are 2 hotheads - overly hot compared to past contestants - and they are on the blue team.
Van - redneck beefcake and
Joseph - loud NE bitch

At the first service Gordon has Tennille (red) and Van (blue) work a shrimp station table side. JP does not like Van's delivery or attitude in the dining room and keeps trying to talk to him about it, but Van won't even stop to listen. They eventually get into a shouting match, with JP doing most of the shouting and Gordon has to pull them into the kitchen to calm them down. It was extreme, especially for JP! All of the diners were staring and if Gordon hadn't stopped it, Van was on his way to either punching or choking JP. Nice first service.

Lovely(red) ruined the souffle by cooking it before the kitchen even opened for dinner service.

The blue teanm won 3 challenges and no one won the 4th:
1. the initial show me your best dish challenge
2. the first dinner service
3. the how well can you prep shrimp challenge

The second dinner service ended as a tie.

As mentioned above, Louie (blue) was sent packing at the first dinner service. That's never happened on the first service. Luckily, gordo had a backup plan, which I am sure was 100% scripted. He had Robert from last season in the dining room to eat and invited him back into Hell's Kitchen for a second try.
But, since the Red team lost the service, he was put on their team. I'm not totally sure why.

There were 2 eliminations, the first eliminated was Melinda (I think). she had these crazy eyes. Weird.

Second dinner service went just as bad as the first with Gordon shutting it down during entrees as he did the first service.

for the second dinner service elimination the red team had to choose 2 ppl and they chose Lovely and Amanda (I think. wine). Lovely consistently ruined the fish and I don't remember why they picked Amanda. I think Amanda accidentally put the salmon puff into the freezer instead of the refrigerator and ruined all the salmon.
Then Gordon asked Joseph (hothead) who they picked for their 2 ppl and why. He would not tell Gordon. He just kept saying he is not a bitch and won't tell Gordon who to pick as Gordon gets angrier and angrier and it goes back and forth until Joseph says he isn't here for this and won't be his bitch. He gets out of the line up, throws off his coat and yells in Gordo's face to take it outside.
To be continued...
And we don't know who the blue team had nominated and why.

BTW, we did finally learn how they learn the recipes to cook. They are given a recipe book the night before service and learn from that. There is no other instruction. I was always wondering that.

The 2 ppl I see standing out so far is Suzanne (red) and Kevin (blue).

Oh, and Heather from Season 2 is the sous chef on the Red team. Go Heather!

I have this on DVR but haven't had a chance to watch so want to thank DLD and Squishy for the updates. I didn't like Robert on his season and I am sure I am not going to like him any more this time.

Sounds like I missed an interesting show ... can't wait till I have time to watch it, just from the recaps (wine or not) it peaked my interest.

I don't have the names down yet either but these contestants seem to be a lot more volotile than those in the past. I finaly got around to watching and cannot see that adding Robert did one single thing to help the women. I didn't care for him last year and my opinion hasn't changed.

I like the country dude ..Van?? ... but looks like he also has a temper. Loveyly has to go ... the blond with the raw chicken has to go. Tennile has to go ... the rest can stay for now LOL

This weeks episode began where last week left off, Joe screaming at Chef Ramsay and then being kicked out. The little guy with glasses was also eliminated though he begged to stay

After just a couple hours of sleep the chefs were awaked by sirens and the belief there was a fire ... there wasn't. Instead they had to serve fire fighters. Both teams finished but the women won. They got a spa treat and they guys had to clean the firetrucks.

Two were injured ... the bald guy damaged both feet and the guy who wears the knit hat injured his hand .... both elected to stay

The evening service went well with both teams finishing the service. The women completed first. BUT the men were declared the winners because they beat the women by two points on the comment cards.

Ariel was the standout for the women and was given the task of nominating two. She chose Lovely and Tennile. Neither women left ... a second chance was given since Joe walked out.

So, um, what about Robert's behavior tonight? He was wayyy off base thinking he was all the big **** just cause he was on last season. I still like him, but he is going to kill himself acting like that and losing it.

Bye Bye Lovely!

Due to illness (surgery) I didn't catch this episode and not sure I was coherent enough to record it. So Squishy or anyone, if you'd like to recap the episode please let us know what exactly took place.

I will try.

The first challenge was sausage making. Blue vs. Red. It was pretty boring with most of the sausages passing through Gordon's quality standard. The only team (each team was 2 ppl) to not successfully make a sausage string was Jim and Robert. Jim kept tearing the casing. You'd have thunk they'd have switched roles, men are dumb sometimes.

The red team wins! Their prize is a day at a German beergarten type restaurant. Chef does not accompany them. The blue team has to clean the dorms.

We find out that Dave has broken his wrist. He got hurt while cleaning the firetrucks last episode. I missed that week. He was told he has to get a full cast and the doctor recommends the quit the contest. He goes to Chef and they decide that this is too big an opportunity for him to give up so he is sent on his way to go get a cast. He will return in time for dessert on dinner service.

Dinner service begins and one player on each team must deliver an amuze bouche to each diner immdiately before the apps come out. That is a tiny pre-appetizer. The red team knows what it is and they can tell their patrons what it is and how to eat it. Blue team - well, he is clueless. I can't remember who was sent out to do that, but they also still had to man their stations while doing it. It may have been Amanda for the girls and Andy for the boys?

Some memorable things that happened:

Robert totally went apeshit over Jim. Jim (his partner who made them lose in challenge) could not cook or present meat to his satisfaction and Robert was sending the food to the pass and telling Chef and sous Chef not to send it out because of various reasons. Robert was yelling and screaming. His big ole fat face was red as lava and even Gordo had to tell him to stop because he was scaring the customers.

Lovely could not do anything right - as usual.
Tek somehow lost her mojo and kinda had a mini meltdown while Gordo yelled at her. Sabrina, the raw chicken chickie, was the best of the worst because even though both teams got their food out on time, the red team had more refires. at least i think that's why they lost.

Also, there were some celebs in the house. Tom Green, Nick Lachey's brother, ummmm some others were there too. B level.

End of the night and Sabrina picked Lovely and Tek as nominees. You can guess who went home....

Lovely.

I was not sad AT ALL to see Lovely go.
and I agree with the post a few up about Robert needing to check his attitude. I like him aswell but he cant go around believing he is better because he was on last season.

A Marine returning from Iraq is the subject of tonight's HK dinner service. The chefs are able to talk with the wife and learn what her husbands likes in the food area.

Then Ramsay and the wife pick the winner.

Women win first point with their salad dish. Men win the rest and recived the opportunity to go on rides and even pilot fighter plans.

Ramsay's wife shows up and gives the losing team instructions on decorating the restaurant for tonight's special event .. right away they decide she is just like Ramsay.

The dinner service for the men goes smooth as glass. They have no problems except a few mis steps with the steaks in the beginning. Once they get rolling they breeze through the whole service and complete their section before the women have sent out even one entree.

Tek burns the steaks or serves them raw ... nothing she is doing is right. Finally having had enough of the women Ramsay has the blue team take over the women's kitchen and get the service complete.

Tek is sent packing .... no big surprise.

I wasn't sober enough to do a recap while watching HK.
But here is what I do remember:

The first challenge was to create a gourmet 3 course meal for under 700 calories. Sabrina led the Red team since she had worked at a spa for many years and knew a lot about lo cal stuff.
The blue team had no real leader and struggled with the task.

The Red team won. I can't remember what they made but each team's main course was a lean pork chop, I think they both did cold shellfish salad. red team made some sort of fruit dessert and the blue team made a crepe, which was very sad looking.

Red team got to win a day at Venice Beach and the men - I forget their punishment. I think they had to prep both kitchens.

At some point Robert gets sick again and is rushed to the hospital. he misses dinner service.

I don't remember much about dinner service in particular. A lot of the same ole.

At the end of service, chef decides that no one wins and each team must nominate one player. There is no best of the worst.

The girls nominate ? ( I swear I can't remember)
The boys nominate Andy? But before they do, some numbnut on the blue team, asks Chef, "what about robert?". Chef gets upset and says you can't blame losing on someone who isn't even there and tells them all that if Robert misses 3 dinner services, he will be eliminated from the competition. I think it was 3. Anyway,
So now chef has to decide between the red nominee which may have been Tenille? and Andy. what does he decide to do?

He gets rid of Jim!

Please feel free to add color commentary for me anyone reading this. I am very hazy.... :MonkeyMania

Your recap was fine Squishy ... I was just hoping Andy would go but Jim was not going to win this either. I just hope Tenille or Andy leave next week. They hold their teams back rather than help them.

Also about the blue team asking about Robert ... it was planned in their group. They said if a cook is gone they are hurting the team so this was a last ditch effort to keep the team intact. They actually wanted to nominate Andy from the beginning.

I can't remember the wman's name either (Sabrina?) the blond ... they nominated her because she sent out raw pork ... I'd have nominated Tennille after the way she disrespected Ramsay.

For me it was not an exciting episode. I do believe Susanne was trying to make the women look bad on purpose. Amanda (?) went home and I think that was a good choice. I see the praise Tennille got going to her head. They guys start bad but always pull it out some how.
