There was no real suprise when Farrah Fawcett died ... she had been in a battle with cancer for years and when recently released from the hospital it was pretty much accepted she was going home to be with her family to die. It's too bad Ryan wasn't able to fullfill his plans to marry her ... at least I never heard that it actually took place.

Ed McMahon was at an age, his death was no surprise either.

I went out to dinner last night with a friend so I was away from the news for several hours. SO I don't know how early the death of MJ was announced. I do remember hearing he had been rushed to the hospital, but hey, this was MJ and going to the hospital for him was not much of a surprise and I didn't think much of it. At the worst he was probably having more plastic surgery or having old plastic surgery repaired.

But as I was sitting and watching whatever show I happened to be watching and they broke in and announced Michael's death I didn't believe it. I really hoped it was some sort of a hoax ... sadly it was not.

Now .. I know Michael's life has been filled with controversy but whether any accusation against him was true or just a way to make an easy buck by the accusers, there can be no doubt like Elvis in his time, MJ changed the face of music and music videos in HIS lifetime.

I have more fun dancing to an MJ song than just about those of any other artist .. they have a beat that touches the inner dancer lost inside me.

Then there was THRILLER .. a song and a video that changed everything when it came to music videos. No longer were we content to see flashes of singers singing or playiing instruments or walking hand in hand on the beach ... we now wanted more ... we wanted mini movies and we wanted something with substance. From Thriller on, MJ continued to deliver with his music videos and the rest of the music world struggled to get in on the new format ... many accomplished it but none has ever surpassed the original.

Fifty just seems too young to die for any reason ... but in this instance the world has lost an icon....again love him or hate him, nothing he ever did can take away the talent this man possessed.

I don't know if the accusations were true or not ... but I am not Michael's judge and jury and this is not the time to dredge up unsubstantiated accusations. It is the time to morn a great loss to the world of music and let God sort out the rest.

I was so surprised when I heard of his death. I was at work when my manager came out and told us. Nobody believed it. It was just such a shocker. And what a shame, right before his comeback shows in London.
