Many of our favorite Reality Shows are drawing to a close. Hell’s Kitchen, Celebrity Apprentice and Amazing Race have already concluded with Dancing with the Stars, Survivor and American Idol to follow shortly.

So what are we to do now … sure Big Brother (CBS) will be coming … start date has been leaked as July 7th but no confirmation yet … but what do we watch before then?

I am not endorsing any of these shows but here’s what’s coming up either this month or as a summer show. If you see anything listed here you’d like to see included in our ‘current show’ recaps/reviews just respond to this post and let us know.

Bachelorette with Bachelor reject Jillian Harris (turns out she was third choice: Melissa Rycroft and Molly what’s her name were asked first … in that order … and they turned it down). Start date will be May 18th. Is anyone really interested in this show anymore?

The Mole … there are rumors it will return and that some of the casting has been completed but no host or air date has been announced.

Here Comes the Newlyweds … ABC … May 25 … this really is not a bad show. A bunch of couples married for a short time (not sure what the max time is) get stuck in a house together, compete for prizes and immunity and vote one couple off ever week. I got caught up in this one towards the end of the season last year.

I Survived a Japanese Game Show – ABC – July 8. I LOVED this show, but the premise will have to be different this year … you can’t fool people two years in a row … or can you? A group goes to Japan, live together, compete on the show with one eliminated every week.

Last Comic Standing --- no start date … no confirmation it will return.

So You Think You Can Dance – Fox – 4 hour premiere on May 21 and May 27 (I hope that means there are only two days of tryouts) Another one of my favorite shows.

Dating in the Dark – ABC – July 20 --- I really have no idea about this one … never heard of it and not sure what it is about … I am assuming it’s a blind date or something

The Super Stars – ABC – June 23 --- 8 celebrities and 8 pro athletes compete in various sporting events … one team sent home every week.

I’m a Celebrity, Get me out of Here – NBC – June 1 --- spoiled celebrities (?) are taken from their servants, cell phones and Ipods and forced into a Survivor like situation … those on board this year are: Torrie Wilson, Stephen Baldwin (didn’t he already do this …. No wait that was the Mole and Celebrity Apprentice), Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, John Sally, Janice Dickinson and Sanjaya Malaka (American Idol) … there are still 3 not yet named but rumors are suggestion Lou Diamond Phillips might be on board also … at least I consider him a celebrity.

So what do you think … any worth watching?

Seriously? None of these sounds good at all. I love that show "World's Strictest Parents" though.

SOMEONE'S GOTTA GO --- late summer or early fall

Employees faced with layoffs will select who among them gets fired on Fox’s new series Someone’s Gotta Go, which will debut this summer or fall. On each episode, a small businesses’ employees will learn that one of them will be laid off, and will then get to know everyone else’s salaries and confront one another before they vote on who gets fired.

Fox’s Mike Darnell told Variety, “It’s ‘Survivor’ meets ‘The Office.’ When someone is arbitrarily let go the first reaction usually is ‘How come that person was fired when another idiot is still here?’ This finally gives employees a chance to make that decision instead of a boss.”

And, you know, be humiliated on TV. Bonus! Clearly, Fox has had enough of its American Idol reputation and is returning to its reprehensible reality roots.

Production company Endemol’s David Goldberg tried to justify this to Variety, saying, “We’re always trying to find the next thing that is topical and timely in the zeitgeist. What could be more current than the financial crisis and dealing with the realities of losing jobs? This is an extension of that real-life experience.”

If Endemol and Fox are looking for more topical and timely and real-life experiences they can turn into TV shows, why stop here? There have been plenty of random, senseless shootings recently that’d make fantastic television.
