You’d think one thing Survivor contestants would learn after all these years is that betraying your alliance, unless you have another laying in waiting, is a very very bad thing for your position in the game. But I jump ahead of myself. Coach is still reeling and mad about the votes cast against Debbie (he one last true ally) and Stephen. He goes on and on about how stupid it was and has decided Taj and Erinn must be the next to leave. {Elsewhere on the web it’s been reported that JT was behind the votes cast by Taj and Erinn to make it look like they were not closely aligned or had had a falling out …. I am not sure I buy this opinion because Erinn promised Sierra she wouldn’t write her name down and during the same conversation Taj said, “Yeah” … so though they may have told JT I think the decision was their own …. I’m just saying.) As Coach continues to vent about the ‘preposterous and stupid’ votes Debbie tells him he has to calm down and let it go (as if Coach ever listens to anyone else about anything).. he tells her it’s time for the Warriors to come together and get rid of the weak links. Debbie tries over and over to get him to stop and let it go, but that’s like telling Angelina and Brad to stop having children. In her camera interview Debbie says every has had enough of Coach ranting all the time. Sierra went home (in Debbie’s opinion) because she caused drama at camp (actually it was because Coach won Immunity) and feels Coach is putting himself in the same position. She is wondering if it is time to break ties with him. She loves him and they have been together as an alliance since the beginning of the game, but he is really bugging her now. She finds Stephen and tells him Coach is getting out of hand. She says she wants him to know that she really loves him and JT and wants the three of them in the finals. She suggests getting rid of Coach, Taj and Erinn in that order. Down at the water Coach is having a conversation with himself. He says “cowards, cowards, cowards, I am surrounded by cowards. “I don’t care about the million dollars! I care about my integrity and honesty and changing this game from start to finish. I’ve said that from day one and that will never change.” Boy is that statement easy to find holes in. He lied about surrounding himself with the best and taking them to the end when he blindsided Brendan; he lied about who suggested resurrecting the Timbira alliance and he seems to be lying to himself about how honest he is. This man is either living in a fantasy bubble or he doesn’t listen to his own words. (I have often been told and found from experience, the person who claims their honesty the loudest and the longest is usually the biggest liar) Debbie continues to rant about coach both to the others and the camera. She is now afraid he will bring her down. She is conniving and trying to find ways to turn the others against coach. She goes to JT and tells him Coach keeps saying he doesn’t want the money. If that is true then why is he here. JT, Taj and Stephen are letting Debbie believe she is getting to them about Coach but he is worried if she can turn against her closest alliance in the game so fast, what would she do to them. Debbie happens to walk up behind them and says something to the effect she knows they are talking about her but then passes over it without making any more reference to it and says she doesn’t want them to think Coach is speaking for her about anything. She says she hates to turn her back on him but feels her only real alliance is with JT and Stephen. She swears to God if she had immunity in the final 3 she’d give it to one of them (JT) and be happy with third place. The have a huggy moment and everyone seems like they are on the same page now. Stephen tells JT he doesn’t know how much to trust Debbie (he says to the camera he doesn’t know what God means to her so he can’t know if swearing to God actually means anything in her mind.) REWARD CHALLENGE. The tribe shows up for what is not a challenge per se but the annual auction. Each have $500 to use. They are instructed that they cannot share money or food. The first item is a big dish of fries. Debbie buys them for $120. The next item is chicken parmesan with garlic bread and wine. Coach takes that one for $320. The next item is covered. Everyone seems a little reluctant to bid on it (guess they have all seen the past blind item auctions LOL) JT takes it for $160 and wins a dish of nachos, salsa and guacamole. Stephen buys the next covered item for $100 and receives cooked chicken hearts. He eats them and acts like he is fine with the purchase but I have my doubts from the expression on his face. The last item up for bid is a cell phone with a video from home. Only one person can win but they can pool their money for this one. Almost as if on cue everyone handed Taj their money. When Jeff asked why Erinn said it is because Taj has a new baby she had to leave at home. When Taj (going crazy of the opportunity to see her family on video) gets to the stand she just shoves all her money at Jeff. He says since nobody else bit it only costs $20.00 It took a minute for this to sink in and she shoved 20. At him and got the video of her family. As the video comes to an end Jeff asked if she caught the last line. Tears running down her face, she says it was kind of low but she heard it … suddenly a light bulb goes on. Her husband had said, “see you back at camp” … jumping up and down she begged to leave for camp. Jeff put a damper on the excitement and said she had a decision to make first. He tell her that her husband will be the only one at camp, UNLESS she is willing to make a sacrifice. If she votes to send herself to Exile Island they the OTHERS will all get visits from their families. For a moment she glances at them and Jeff says her husband will be at Exile too. With that knowledge she says she’ll do it. Can she leave now? Everyone is excited to see their families so he releases them all to return to camp. When Eddie walks out from behind some trees on Exile, Taj can’t get to him fast enough. He tells her how good she looks (weight loss) and how proud of her he is. I have to say they look to be totally devoted to each other. (One might wonder if they had a conjugal visit with Taj having on the same clothes for over a month and probably smelling pretty bad. I did notice Eddie left an orange T shirt for her when he left. Back at camp Debbie’s husband is there and she leaps into his arms. Other guests include Erinn’s father, JT’s sister, and Stephen’s brother. For Coach’s visitor … mom? Dad? Brother? Sister? Best friend? NOPE none of these … his ASSISSTANT coach is his visitor. YUK!!! The most honest guy in the game (Coach) tells his pal that THEY call him “Warrior” or maybe he said “Dragonslayer” can’t be sure because I started tuning him out when the lie started. Anyway, does he actually think his ”friend” is not watching the program and witnessed the lies he’s been telling … or wait, maybe this is tape delayed .. duh! So the question is doesn’t he realize his ‘friend’ will someday see the show and know he lied? The visits finally come to an end and it’s back to the game. Debbie is back to throwing Coach under the bus. She tells JT she needs to talk to him when Coach goes for his walk. (JT is really not liking what Debbie is doing, but he is all smiles when he talks to her … it is really bothering him that she is turning on Coach to save her own butt. Coach wanders over and tells them they need to get rid of Taj before she has a chance to use the Immunity Idol (he doesn’t know it’s in Stephen’s possession and he may or may not give it to Taj OR JT if one of them needs it.) JT tells the camera he is way ahead of Coach but will tell him anything he wants to hear to make him believe they are on the same page. He actually says he will be glad when Coach is gone because he wants the people he is lying to gone because it bothers him. Once Coach leaves Debbie starts again and pulls everyone in the camp into the conversation. They all agree with her and she says it has to be a total blindside. ALL of them have to vote the same. They need to let him keep thinking Taj is the target. However when Erinn walks away (Taj is on Exile) she tells them maybe they should get rid of Erinn or Taj first. Stephen is really concerned about Debbie … part of him believes she would settle for third place and part of him doesn’t. JT says if she is making all of these promises to them, what is she promising everyone else. He says she is a crafty player and will do anything to get ahead in the game. Erinn returns after Debbie leave and all that is said is she (Debbie) can’t win immunity. IMMUNITY CHALLENGE This one is sort of a combo challenge. They have to work their ways through several items including first digging under a bar in the sand and crawling under. JT is first out. The challenge continues with a trek across a beam and then on to a spinning thing with equation symbols on it. They have to memorize the symbols in the right order and return the way they came and use the symbols to solve a math problem. JT is way a head while Erinn and Stephen are bringing up the rear. But as things will happen on Survivor, Stephen was able to make only one trip to the spinning symbols and remember them in the right order (others made at least two trips). Stephen solved the problem just ahead of JT and won Immunity. Back at camp JT and Stephen let Taj know what has been going on with Debbie. They tell her about Debbie turning on Coach and Taj and Erinn. She is promising everything she can to stay in the game. JT says not to worry, because they are dominating the game now and it’s good they have remained so tight … JT, Stephen and Taj…JT tells the camera though, that it’s really just him and Stephen that know everything. Stephen is having some last minute doubts (so we are to believe) about getting rid of Debbie. He reminds JT she works hard around the camp and really believes she’d be okay with being only third.,,but the biggest drawback is they’d have to spend more time with Coach. Speaking of Coach, of course he shows up to make sure they are all on the same page again and that Taj is getting the boot. JT says nothing has changed. Coach is getting a little excited and tells them one of the three of them will be winning this game. {Gee didn’t Coach just say at the beginning he didn’t care about that … or wait, it’s the money he doesn’t care about, not the winning) After Coach leaves JT and Stephen talk about what a great game they have been playing and how amazing it is that everyone wants to be on their good side instead of trying to vote them out. (It really is amazing considering the fact, at the merge they were the underdogs until Timbira began imploding.) Tonights Tribal is actually entertaining as you can see by how hard it is for Sierra (jury) to keep from laughing at everything Coach has to say. Jeff is awesome when he calls Coach out about wanting to go to the end with the best. He asks him if the six remaining are the best. Coach has a great cover answer … what he sees as a strength in someone, someone else might see as a weakness. (Way to cover your butt Coach) He points out different things about different people and when asked about Debbie he says she is playing for the same reason he is …. Integrity … and yes Brendan and Sierra almost fall off their seats at that one … he goes on to say Debbie has never lied to him ……….. whooooooooooops! Jeff asks if this late in the game if it is risky for him to admit he has been in an alliance with Debbie singe the third day. Taj jumps in and says it isn’t risky it’s what people do in the game. Coach said say something about the warrior again and this sets Jeff off asking about the term and Taj says that is what HE (COACH) calls HIMSELF. Coach says he is not the one who came up with it and Jeff says “Let me guess, some chief in a small village … and the hysterical laughter is so loud you can’t hear how he finished. Coach doesn’t have the brains to be even a little insulted. Instead he says every time they come to Tribal and Jeff tries to cup him down he loves it. (The whole time Sierra seems to be throwing up in her mouth a little. The final thing worth mentioning is when Jeff asks about Taj. Could anyone vote her off after what she did for them at the auction. Coach says it would be very difficult (LIAR LIAR) Okay, I am not tired of the Coachisms and patting himself on the back for his honesty and integrity so lets just get to the vote. Coach votes for Taj. Debbie votes for Coach. Everyone else votes for Debbie. One might wonder, as I did why they didn’t vote coach out of the game when they had the chance. I think it was twofold. They were tired of Debbie constantly throwing everyone under the bus and they didn’t really trust that she wasn’t doing the same to them OR, she has won more challenges than Coach. |
