I didn’t really find this episode of Amazing Race very interesting. The challenges weren’t that good or worth much. Fixing a boat propeller or fixing people with false teeth or singing with a lot of female impersonators just seemed like much ado about nothing. The only thing interesting is that two of the teams left their back packs in the taxis when they did the boat propeller thing … not knowing the boat would be taking them to another area of Bangkok. The one team, Mark and Michael did have their fanny packs with them, but the ladies, Jen and Kisha didn’t. Jen wanted to go back and get at least their fanny packs but Kisha was sure the boats would be bringing them back. They were wrong. The continued the tasks. When they arrived at the check in Phil told them without their papers he couldn’t check them in. So they had to find a way to retrieve what the left behind …. Without any money for a cab. Mark and Michael fought about whether to do the task and then go after their stuff or go for their stuff first. They finally, through a split decision decided to return for their bags. When they arrived to pick them up they had a large taxi bill. They couldn’t pay it so bartered some of their property for the ride. They faced the same situation when they took the taxi to the check in. They again didn’t have the money and bartered more personal items. Mean time, Margie and Luke, who did everything right today, arrived at the rest stop first. Cara and Jaime and Victor and Tammy, though originally almost left without their backpacks, did decide after seeing Margie and Luke with theirs, decided to get them before leaving on the boat. They all check into the rest stop without a problem. Mark and Michael finally arrived and from the look on Phil’s face you knew something was coming. He looked very angry. He told the guys they broke the rules but using personal items to pay their debt to the taxi and that was a 2 hour penalty. Since they did it twice they would not be check in for 4 hours. He reminded them this was not the first time they had broken the rules … pointing out that they also hid the air pumps during the last leg of the race. Kisha and Jen finally arrived … assuming they would be eliminated. Joyful when they discovered they weren’t. When everyone else was checked in Phil called Mark and Michael to check in. He still was not happy with them, but this was NOT an elimination leg. They would have to perform an additional task in the next leg PLUS the 4 hour penalty would be added to the departure time …. They would be leaving 4 hours after everyone else. |

Mark and Michael couldn't over come the 4 hour punishment and were the two sent home. The battle rages between Margie and Luke and Kisha and Jen. |
