Guess what folks? I was not the only person totally surprised when Andrea did not nominate Carol for elimination last week … CAROL was surprised too. She questions Andrea’s reason for not nominating her (what do they say about not looking a gift horse in the mouth?) and Andrea says she wasn’t going to let personal stuff influence her decisions .. Carol was not the worst in the kitchen. LA expresses dismay at being nominated and Andrea and the others tell her she hasn’t been giving it everything. Just about now Carol and LA bond over their dislike of Andrea. Carol says (in her mini camera time) that the kitchen has now split. It’s Paul and Andrea against her and LA. (This woman has now officially exposed my last raw nerve) After getting some sleep: (I am sure the rest period was used for Carol to dream up more ways to sabotage Andrea and for Lacey to figure out new ways to disrupt the men) the two teams meet up with Foul Mouthed Ramsay (sorry that’s CHEF not FM) and learn they are going to receive a special treat .. something from his London Restaurant’s menu … a new trend he hopes to introduce at HK tonight. What they got was salmon prepared 6 different ways. I guess the hoopla was over the portion size … SMALL individual portions … (and I ask the question I am sure others have … individual VS what? Bigger portions?) Oh well, the teams liked the salmon dishes .. even those who don’t like salmon. As if they’d actually tell us if they didn’t like something created by THE Gordon Ramsay. No surprise here … the competition this morning is for each of the wannabes to create a small portion dish from leftovers laid out in the kitchens. Oooooops hold on … the teams are awkwardly proportioned so Ramsay announces another change…. First of course we get the suspense of him looking at and speaking the name of LACEY … oh my did the faces on the women’s team look horrified at the thought of her returning to them. But, relax ladies it was just Ramsay’s idea of suspense … GIOVANNI is moving to the women’s side. So Gio is now red. This doesn’t make the blue team very happy … Robert sums it up by saying “The blue team was given the worst chef from the red team and the red team was given the best chef from the blue team” … way to state the obvious there Robert. For 20 minutes everyone scrambles to get their dishes prepared. Poor Lacey can’t even come up with an idea so Ben tells her to make mushroom brochette and even what to put in it. Times up and Ramsay judges: Danny and Paula go head to head with steak dishes … they both earn 1 point and Ramsay loves what they did. Lacey and LA are up next with Lacey’s mushroom dish and LA’s ginger soup … both got 0s. Carol offers up a tuna dish with ginger and soy sauce … OH no .. she didn’t taste the sauce and it was NOT soy … too bad for Carol because Robert wins with peppered pasta with lamb, even though Ramsay thought the portions were too big. Andrea’s open face lobster ravioli beats J’s lobster dish so the teams are tied. Ben presents a grilled tuna dish against Gio’s surf and turf. Ramsay is torn between the final two choices. He says both are presented well and both taste great, but ultimately he throws the bone to the red team … more than likely to give Gio a reward so he won’t think being sent to red was a punishment. Winners are off to the Hollwood Park horse races with Ramsay. While getting ready to leave Gio gives the red team a pep talk. Asks them to set aside their personal differences and work together as a team because he doesn’t want to go home and he is sure they don’t either. They all agree to work together. The blue team has to do prep for tonight’s service for BOTH kitchens. OF course we get the moans and groans and yada yada yada from Lacey. She is being picked on, she is being told what to do, she is … .she is going to pout and she is going to threaten to quit and she is going to walk off …..just like she did on the red team when they had to prep the kitchens. Ben runs to track her down even though the WHOLE blue team would be happy for her to go, but they need her for the service and Ben tells her so. After making him grovel a little more Lacey returns to the kitchen…not that she is going to be any more help, or complain any less than she did before. I have never seen anyone since grade school who wallowed in self pity like Lacey does. When they return to get ready for the service the red team seems to be happy and getting along …I wonder how long that will last?! Well not long … Carol serves uncooked pasta and she blames it on Andrea … personally I didn’t see what Andrea had to do with it, but Carol was the one who served it without tasting first. BUT Ramsay sends both women into the dining room to sit among the guests and eat the under cooked pasta and Carol of course asks Andrea why she let her take the blame and not speak up. Andrea doesn’t know what she was to speak up about. Next disaster is the horrendous risotto the women start to serve. They discover, as does Ramsay that the rice is a mushy mess. He wants to know who cooked it. They tell him the blue team and it turns out J was the one who did the rice for both kitchens. It ALL has to be tossed out and redone. J is NOT having a good night. His messed up tuna gets him called out of the kitchen and screamed at by Ramsay. He was given another chance and sent back out to the kitchen. In the red kitchen Ramsay tries to talk to LA and she appears to be on another planet. She doesn’t respond and he calls her a COW. Poor J …. Back over in the blue kitchen he has now screwed up the scallops. For the first time in the history of Hell’s Kitchen a contestant is ejected in the middle of service. There was no second chance this time. J was told to take off his jacket and was sent packing. Even though they are in the midst of a cold war between Carol and Andrea … mostly on Carol’s part, Gio takes control of the red kitchen and they sale through the service, completing well ahead of the blue kitchen. As a result of Gio keeping them working instead of fighting Paula is even praised by Ramsay for the best Wellington to be served in HK. Next on Ramsay’s radar is Ben, who, unlike Paula messes up the Wellington…several times, including setting it on a dirty tray. Ramsay pulls Ben out but gives him another chance. Even though the red team is now finished Carol attacks Andrea again. Andrea finally tells Carol she experienced her (Carol’s) worst service ever and not to take it out on her. Told her to get over it and do better next time. Carol says if SHE were the boss … and Gio cuts her off and tells her she is NOT the boss. Finally the blue team completes service and Ramsay said this was their 7th and 7 was not a lucky number for him tonight. He tells the blue team to go upstairs and all of the pick the person they can’t work with anymore. Upstairs Ben apologizes for all of his screw ups tonight. Danny says that Ben talks big but doesn’t deliver. Lacey starts in on how they hate her and this switches the guys direction which had been focused on Ben, back to her. Robert wants HER gone. Downstairs Ramsay asks each one about their choice. Robert says Lacey … she is a cancer and is not a team player. She threatened to quit and blames everyone else instead of taking responsibility. (Ramsay is surprised to hear she threatened to quit) Lacey says she wants Robert gone because they don’t understand each other. Danny says Lacey because of her poor attitude and also her treat to walk out. Ben says Lacey because she isn’t a team player. Ramsay calls Lacey and Ben forward. He asks Ben why he didn’t choose himself? All Ben can say is that he dropped the ball tonight but he brings good food to the team. Ramsay tells Ben he wants his jacket and then send both Lacey and Ben back to their team, and sends them all back to their rooms. Ramsay says when they are gone, that he is giving them some slack because by him firing J during service it left them at a disadvantage. Carol continues to trash talk Andrea. We find out that next week will be Celebrity night. Can’t wait for that one. In a nutshell, Lacey needs to be sent home. She is a disruption and does not work well with others. She was a drain on the red team and is a drain on the blue team. Carol would be my next choice. Even if everything she thinks about Andrea is true, she needs to keep the personal crap out of it. If Andrea is the terrible cook Carol wants us to believe she is, Ramsay will send her home in time. As it is Carol needs to shut up and be a team player. |

I am sick of Lacey too - I can't stand people who seek attention like she does. |

I think Lacey was supposed to be the comic relief this year but she is so not funny. And as for irritating, Carol is getting there real fast too. The two people you don't hear much about are Paula and Danny ... maybe they will be the final two. |

Robert can be funny but I really don't care for him. He can be about as mouthy as Lacey at times. He has calmed down a little but he already made a bad impression on me. |

Well this last episode was the first impression I got of him... so he didn't really bother me. I'll definitly keep watching the season and see what happens. |
