Ah, more nominations … it’s Renny’s turn this time around – I’m not even sure who she’s going to target, but we’ll find out tonight…

Libra was evicted in another unanimous vote, which made Keesha feel better about how much she’s liked in the house. April says that she wasn’t sure she would be able to get enough votes for Libra, which is why she went with the group. Michelle says that Libra got what she deserved for getting Jessie out, and Renny noticed that she’s the lone color picture on the big board of HGs. Renny then goes on to win the HOH competition, which she does graciously – no screaming or gloating. Keesha and Memphis are happy about it while April feels that she should be ready to be on the block. Ollie isn’t too optimistic, either.

In a funny little side-plot, we learn that every time April and Ollie try to have some alone time, Jerry magically appears. Ha! He even follows them into a bedroom – um, weird! I don’t know if he’s clueless or clued in, though, because April and Ollie are definitely hoping to throw him under the bus. The other two guests that start to hang out are Keesha and Memphis, which makes Renny nervous – she knows that Memphis could easily charm her BFF. Renny kind of confronts Keesha about it, pointing out to her that Memphis won’t take her to the end with him. She also calls him a threat, and even calls him “the male April.” This worries Keesha, who wants Renny to stay focused on the “other side.”

As soon as Renny opens the door to her HOH room, she starts crying uncontrollably. This makes it awkward for the rest of the HGs, especially the men, who decide to “give her a minute.” Michelle and April try to leave too, but Renny tells them to stay, so they bring everybody in and she shows them the pictures of her mom and dad. This is touching for everybody, especially because it makes her seem like less of a caricature.

Next, we get to see a lighter moment amongst the houseguests, which consists mostly of people harassing April. She has a stuffed poodle that she’s gotten pretty attached to, which the others in the house like to throw around and drop kick. Still, though, Dan thinks that April looks worse. April recovers and then goes back to what she seems to do with most of her time in the house – lies in bed with Ollie. We get to see some heartfelt moments between them – dude, they’re not having a showmance – it’s the real thing … blah, blah, blah.

Renny starts to hold court in her HOH room. First up is Michelle, and Renny tells her that she likes her. Michelle tells Renny that if she won HOH next week, she wouldn’t put her up. In fact, Michelle says that Renny is not one of her targets. The two of them have a little lovefest, where they talk April down and Renny even talks down on her friend Keesha a bit – guess she really is perturbed by the Memphis thing.

Side note: during a commercial break, we see a promo for the next Survivor. Woo hoo!

For the food comp, the teams are identified by big bows that they’re given to wear. The Red Team is Keesha, April, Michelle, and Dan, while the Blue Team is Jerry, Ollie, and Memphis. Keesha is named as a server. Renny starts the game, which is a jacked-up version of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Contestants have to choose which they will eat: slop, pig’s ears, and crickets. BB has identified what beats what. After it’s determined who wins, they have to eat that to get the point.

First, Dan gets to eat some crickets in order to win a point over Memphis. He prays over the crickets, which is kind of funny, then he downs them like a champ. What sucks the most is that it isn’t even like one cricket – it’s a plateful!
Next, Michelle chooses crickets to win a point over Ollie. She shovels them in as quickly as possible and gets it over with.
For the third point, Jerry has to eat slop to get a point over April. It’s not like he hasn’t eaten it for weeks at a time, yet he has some trouble. At several points, it seems as though he’s not going to make it, but he does.
Memphis gets a chance at a point next by eating some pig ears to beat Dan. It’s a little rough, but he gets it done. Teams are now tied.
Michelle eats the pig ears next to beat Ollie for a point. She’s said many times before that she loves pig ears, and she not only eats them, she mocks “the boys” as she does.
For the winning point, April has to eat pig ears to beat Jerry. The kicker? She’s a vegetarian. Jerry’s really hoping that she doesn’t make it, since he’s been on slop for the past 19 days (maybe that explains his earlier problem with it) but she downs them and he’s officially back on slop for another week.

There is a little bit of good news for Memphis, Ollie, and Jerry, because they learn that America has “given” them one more food that they’ll be able to eat for the week. They HGs return to the house and learn that the other food that they get is … lollipops. The house is full of them – the big, round ones with swirly colors.

One thing that I noticed during the food comp is that Keesha, by being named “the server” got to not participate at all. She never ate one of the nasty things, yet will be eating all week long. It seems to me that she’s managed to get around the unpleasant parts of other challenges – for example, when she was “planted” she got out before anything nasty was poured on her and still managed to win. Are there more instances of this? What gives?

In another heartwarming moment from the back yard, we learn that Ollie’s number one fear is birds – he sees one crow and starts to freak out – even though it’s nowhere close to him. Dude actually creeps behind the couch, keeping his eye on the bird the whole time, and books it inside. It’s hilarious.

Next to request an audience with HOH Renny is Dan. She tells him that he isn’t in danger, but that she may need him to go up as a pawn. She wants to go after “that trio” (April, Ollie, and Jerry, I assume), but doesn’t want to make too many enemies. Dan, of course, tries to talk her out of it … what I don’t get is that how she could avoid all three of them being mad at her if any one of them is up. Memphis joins the conversation, hears that they’re talking about pawns, and says flat out that in BB history it’s a well known fact that the pawn always goes home. Memphis points out to Renny that no matter what, Jerry will always be after Memphis and Dan before he ever even thinks about gunning after her. Of course, he has put Renny up before, so she has a hard time. The conversation gets even better, though, when Michelle and Keesha walk in, Renny asks if one of them would be willing to be a pawn, and they flat out laugh at her.

Amazingly, Renny manages to pull Ollie into the HOH room without April, and she starts by asking him if he’s in the game. He says that he is, that he’s there to win, and she kicks everybody else out to talk to Ollie on her own. He knows that April’s a target, and he thinks that he’s going to go up with her. He gives Renny a great pep talk, though, telling her that she should do what it good for her – and warns her against thinking that she’s telling people what to do when really she’s doing what other people want her to. He tries to throw Jerry under the bus a bit, and wraps it up by saying that there are bigger fish for her to fry than his humble little self. Of course, he’s in a great position to tell her that, seeing how it’s been hard to tell if he’s actually playing the game or not.

As Renny prepares for the nomination ceremony, comments from the houseguests are predictable – April knows she’s going up, Ollie is nervous about being attached to April, Keesha is afraid that Renny will do something crazy, Memphis won’t respond well to being used as a pawn, and Renny wants her nominations to shake up the house. When we get right down to it, though, April and Jerry are on the block. Obviously, April is the target, and obviously, Renny tells her that she’s nominated because she’s a threat (does anybody ever actually feels respected in these moments?) Jerry is a safe nomination for Renny since he already nominated her – retribution of that type is almost always forgiven in the BB house. In the end, April has possibly the only plan that she could use to save herself – get Jerry to blow up on somebody so that the house gets sick of him and sends him packing. She’s glad that she wasn’t put up against Ollie, but we all know how quickly the back door can swing in the BB house – we’ll see what happens with the veto!
