Last week, April won a dramatic HOH ceremony, during which she promised safety to Michelle. It seemed to me that she made that same promise about Jessie, but she still put him up on a block. He’s there alongside Memphis – and what will happen to Michelle’s promise if one of them win the veto? Another player in a precarious position is Keesha, who has a habit of striking up friendships with people on their way out. Right now, she’s buddy-buddy with Memphis – will this come back to bite her?

Memphis is trying to channel BB players of the past by wearing Dustin’s deep v-neck and Jase’s bandana – let’s see if that works out for him. Jessie, shocker, isn’t worried at all – he thinks that it’s an honor to be nominated. He’s so honored that he kisses up to April and Ollie seconds after she puts away the nomination box. Michelle isn’t so thrilled – she remembers enough about BB past to know that “pawns” are in no way safe.

In an awesome move by America, Dan is given the task to hug Jessie for at least 10 seconds. His strategy is to make up a sob story about his girlfriend, hoping that Jessie’s tough exterior is hiding a big teddy bear. He says that he’s worried she won’t be waiting for him when he gets out, and he comes darn close to squeezing out a tear or two. To Jessie’s credit, he gives a great pep talk and is very understanding. So much so, that their hug actually lasts for 17 seconds. I may have a little tear myself … what a beautiful little man moment … I may actually like Dan right now!

At the veto player selection, April picks Michelle, Jessie picks Libra, and Memphis picks Jerry. April chooses Renny to be the host and they get ready to compete with April feeling like it’s her against the “other side” – Libra’s track record with competitions seems to have more to do with excuses than victories and Jerry’s no pro athlete. April’s pretty upset about it, and Libra tries to comfort her by telling her that it may be something Jerry is good at. Despite her current state, April makes the hilarious comment that Libra may be right – it could be a nose picking contest! Libra then makes a half-hearted attempt to make a case for herself as a competitor, which goes over like a lead balloon. This hurts Libra’s feelings and she ends up leaving the room upset, further alienating herself from the group. The group leaves April and Ollie for April to complain to Ollie while Libra complains to Keesha. Keesha takes that opportunity to talk down about April – unfortunately, Libra and Keesha talk so loudly that Jessie overhears and has an opening to go to April and stir some stuff up. He throws in some stuff about Keesha loving Memphis and in the end he’s better than a 15-year-old girl at starting a catfight.

April goes to confront Libra and Keesha, who go right on the defensive. Libra and April then get into it, and Keesha feels ignored, so she goes and tells Michelle and Renny about it. By tell them about it, I mean that she started yelling, cursing, and saying that she hates April’s @*#*!& guts. Then she takes the fight into the bedroom with April and Keesha. I’m having a hard time keeping up with all the arguments, but they seem to end up on the same side. Then, Jerry comes in to warn the girls that Memphis is in the living room making fun of them. Renny yells at Jerry for the way he’s talking to the girls, Memphis goes to confront Jerry but doesn’t, the group decide that they’re pissed at Jessie (April finally told them that it was him that went to her), Libra starts crying, and in the meantime the house is kind of trying to celebrate Keesha’s birthday. BTW, if you’re following this, please let me know, because while I’m seriously entertained, I’m having a hard time keeping up with who is aligning with whom!

Next, Jessie and Libra get in a fight – and by that I mean that Libra yells a lot while Jessie stands around with that dumb look on his face, which just makes Libra angrier. Everyone else seems to be over it as they awkwardly stand around waiting to assemble and sing happy birthday. When they finally do, it’s the saddest birthday song I’ve ever freakin’ heard. It’s such an awkward moment that they play the whole song on tv, which we know is totally against the BB rules. Finally, Libra apologizes to the house for yelling, then Jessie stirs crap up further by apologizing for “telling the truth.” From there, the f bombs just start flying. Wow. In the meantime, Memphis sits back enjoying the whole thing, but Jessie just laughs because he won’t be on the block – he’s winning veto. My gosh, I’ve never wanted anything like I want him to NOT win the veto! Hopefully he’s just awoken the competitor hiding inside Libra.

The veto comp starts and it has to do with hockey – how appropriate – maybe they can take some of these fights to the ice. Of course they can’t get physical, though – instead, they need to shoot a puck into a net that’s sectioned off. The player farthest away from the middle is eliminated, then they pick a prize. The next player to be eliminated can choose a new prize or a prize that has already been taken – like the Christmas game where Jen ended up with the red unitard, I believe.

First round: Memphis is ejected, seemingly on purpose. His prize is the veto. The best part, though, was that Jessie was about to bite it – he even got beat by Jerry!
Second round: Michelle is ejected, and Jerry beats Jessie again. Her prize is a Hawaiian holiday, and she’s ecstatic – so much so that she lets Memphis keep the veto – after all, it isn’t like she’d be able to keep the veto, anyway
Third round – Jessie is ejected – he’s full of excuses – he probably lost because his back is too big. He gets a “slop surprise” that he gives to Memphis in exchange for the veto
Fourth round – April is ejected. April wins $10,000 in Big Brother gold bars, which she can apparently use to bribe people in the house. Whoever is evicted with them can cash them in. April keeps the money, justifying it by saying that she’s done her part this week – she wants the money. Hmm.
Fifth round – Jerry is ejected. His prize is a letter from home. He gives the letter to Jessie, making a deal with April to split the $10,000 three ways (Jerry, Libra, and April). Jerry now holds the veto.
Last – Libra wins Jen’s used red unitard, which she can trade with any prize. She takes Michelle’s Hawaiian vacation and gives her the unitard. Wow. Libra smiles like somebody’s taking her picture, April seems upset, and Michelle might kill someone. It turns out that Memphis’ “slop surprise” means that he gets a slop pass for a week and that he can also put somebody else on slop. He chooses to put Jerry on slop.

At the end, Jessie says that his life is standing up for the little people, whether he prevails or not. He can still hold his head up high because he did the right thing the whole way through. What?

Michelle is ready to walk out, saying that she’s being made a fool of. Jessie tries to comfort her, which doesn’t really work, since he got a letter from home while she got the unitard. I can’t really repeat anything that she says, but the bottom line is that Libra is a bad mother because she chose the trip over the letter from home. Michelle’s DR session is quite the explosion, with her putting her back to the camera and telling the producers that’s all they’re going to get. She puts on the unitard and gets into bed. In truth, she’s had a bad week with the HOH comp and now this, and Jessie actually seems like a nice guy as he tries to comfort her. He even tells her that her butt looks good in the unitard. You know, from where I’m sitting it wasn’t really necessary for BB to point out that it’s Jen’s used unitard – I mean, euw.

In the POV meeting, Jessie looks as though he actually has a chance, even though he makes a big show of respecting whatever Jerry decides. Memphis is resigned, saying that he knows Jerry won’t take him off, but that he hopes Jerry realizes that he needs to do whatever’s “in favor of his game.” Unsurprisingly, Jerry does not use the veto.

In the end, Memphis hopes to get the votes to stay while Jessie doesn’t even feel threatened. April seems to think that she’s controlling how the vote will go, but Libra seems pretty intent on voting for Jessie’s eviction no matter what anybody else says. Of course, Dan is now voting for America, so that may throw a wrench into it too. Looks like we may not have another landslide – can’t wait ‘til Thursday!
