The night before the finale. Who will impress the judges with their signature dishes and who won't. Will we love the decor they choose or hate it? Discuss tonights episode here. (Sorry Bently, I had some mistakes I needed to correct and didn't know how to move you with me)

Oh Hell's Kitchen tonight? Sorry, but I was doing my nails!
More seriously, we all knew it was going to be a yawner. TV tension was maximized, of course when one of them has an easy time with the menu and then the decorating, while the other struggles. Surprise!! The one that had an easy time of it got a really ugly decor!
The reason I am not concerned is that the last time, the decorator listened to each and then did pretty much what he wanted. I would guess that the mismatch of Christina's decor (I have seen men wear better matched golf outfits than that!) will be miraculously redone just in time for the opening.
Petrozza likes the chef's jacket for the waiters/waitresses while Christina is thinking black T-shirts and pegged pants. I was thinking that they should wear sunglasses and snap their fingers and say things like "Cool, daddeo!" but maybe she just doesn't communicate well. Petrozza started to scare me with his flower arrangements but maybe that will come together too.
They are whisked off to New Yawk where they go to R's London restaurant on W 54th. Did I mention that they win a 5 night stay at one of his places in Dubai? Christina hasn't a clue where that is, but that's ok. You wouldn't believe what it looks like unless you had been there.
They both have to prepare signature dishes.
P prepares a grilled filet of beef with caramelized onion risotto with a demi-glace. He also adds these scallions that look like paintbrushes but they look out of place. Later he says that the demi-glace is really a balsamic vinegar reduction.
C prepares an aged NY strip with a corn succotash (pretty!) and fingerling potatoes. The succotash has artichoke hearts and something else and looks really colorful. The judges are Ramsay's chefs from around the world.
Mark Sargent from London, Angela Harper from Boca Raton (FL), Stuart Gillies from London, Simone Sinone from Paris and Josh Emmet from the present London restaurant in NY.
Emmet by the way was the chef brought in to repair the poor reviews when the restaurant first opened so he is very very good.
You can see that Petrozza and Christina are hardly in the class with any of these executive chefs, so whatever the position is, it is clear that Ramsay is not turning over the reins of a new restaurant to either of them, Ramsay does say that Emmet will be the person who sets up the Los Angeles restaurant so whoever wins will be working under him.
Whoopi Goldberg shows up because she is a fan of the show. I was not exactly sure why she was there.
Petrozza wins and you could kind of tell because Christina had been bragging and she had won so many already. Even the votes looked almost staged with two, two and the final deciding vote going to P.
Back to LA. Petrozza gets to pick first and Christina has to take the last person. P easily chooses Bobby, who saved his butt earlier in the show and then Ben, my personal favorite. Christina chooses Corey, who looks remarkably decent and then LouRoss.
The show ends with the dilemma of whether P should choose psycho Matt or bad-news Jen. Frankly I think Matt can keep it together for one service and Jen has a VERY bad attitude. When she came in the kitchen she said that her job was to convince Ramsay that he made a mistake. My opinion is that if she is going to use cheap drugs, she should have to share them.
We haven’t seen the menus yet, but I hope that Petrozza does something elegant but simple. Christina is almost buoyant, thinking two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts. Next week is when the fun starts. My nails should be dry by then. Whom would you choose?
