OK so I stumbled upon the preview for Season 2 of Ice Road Truckers last night. Starts next Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 9pm eastern time. This year they will be driving on the Arctic Ocean. Looks like Hugh, Alex, Rick and Drew (yes, Drew--can you believe it?!) are back. I wonder what happened to TJ and Jay?

Can't wait, can't wait. Last night I watched something that was last season footage with some teasers of the new one.

I hope Jay comes back. I liked that kid. And he does live in Yellowknife. (Isn't that the name of the town or am I just making things up as I go along?!?) :giggle:

JB...I can't believe Drew is back. Should be for some good drama? Have they said why they changed their route?? I'm sure they will tell on Sunday but didn't know if you heard something.

I'm sure they moved the location for dramatic effect. I also wondered if they might be shooting 2 seasons at once. One at Yellowknife with Jay and TJ and then have Hugh, Alex, Rick and Drew at the new location for this season. I wondered if they might do that because the show was so popular last year. I thought they might do 13 episodes at each location, Yellowknife to show when this series ends. We'll see. That's just my speculation though. I DID however hear that Jay and his girlfriend broke up last year. I'll scour around the web and see if I pick up anything about Jay or TJ and why they aren't on this season...

OK, this is what I heard on another board...

there is no more Yellowknife filming happening as the joint Council that manages the roads will not allow the cameras back after the fiasco of season 1 . As far as I have heard Jay was hauling and so was TJ on the Yellowknife roads but just doing it as regular truckers and no hollywood contracts ..........

Oh boy, doesn't sound like this season is off to a good start for either Rick or Drew. I laughed so hard when he (Drew) showed up without a coat! AT THE ARTIC CIRCLE! And his boss trying to decide who to send out, "Dewy" LOL or "the guy who came prepared with a fur coat and gloves!" Hugh. So funny.

I love this show.

Another great show last night. Hughey (my hero) saved the day last night by fixing the vac truck.

Anyone watching this except lpatrick and I?

I'm still with you JB. Love the show, but not as many characters to love this season.

I don't know where they find people like Drew and Rick. Rick is a disaster on trucks and then of course it's never his fault. Drew, Drew, Drew.... he's like the punch line to a very bad joke. I would feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a whiner.

I agree lpatrick. Still love Hughey and Alex, not so much the other guys. Rick--what a loveable goofball and Drew, well...what can I say? I can imagine what his wife said when he called to say he'd quit AGAIN this season. I'm sure she told him he'd just better "work it out" and stay put this year and that's why he's driving the little trucks off the ice road. lol

Oh no, I hope Alex recovers and is able to get back on the ice road! I'm thinking this is one of those famous "Ice Road Truckers edits" where things look alot worse than they are! Gotta build that drama you know...

As for Rick, either that guy is the victim of the worst reality tv editing or he is just one of those people who will never be happy with any kind of job. He is SUCH a whiner. I know people like that--I have several in my own family--who get themselves cranked up about nothing so that by the time they are done it's a BIG DEAL.

And Drew? Where the heck is he the last 2 weeks. I don't recall seeing him on the last two shows at all. His storyline must be totally boring or something.

Poor Alex! I hope they give us an update at the end of the show this year about how he is doing now. Having a blood clot in your lung is nothing to fool with so I'm glad he's taking Dr's advice and staying off the road for the rest of the season!

Rick could take a lesson on work ethic from Hugh. He's been hauling human poo all season but doesn't care. Rick does nothing but complain, complain, complain! What a whiner!

This Sunday is the season finale. I think this has been a very lack-luster season. Not very interesting at all to me.

YAY--go Polar Bear! I think a new nickname for Hugh is appropriate. Hugh "turn and burn" Rowland!

I'm disappointed there doesn't look like there will be an update show this year :(
