The King Posts: 855 Group: Admin Member #6 Joined: February 20, 2005	Please discuss tonights finale in here. It was a good one and after hearing Todd talk during the reunion I think he is now the best strategic player this game has seen. He has one-upped Richard Hatch.

I had heard the rumors about an All Stars season, but the Favorites vs. Fans is much more interesting to me. Hopefully since they say "fans" it means there won't be any more people like Courtney on there who were recruited without any knowledge of the show.

Easin' into summertime... Posts: 3,517 Group: Writer Member #109 Joined: April 25, 2005	I don't mind the "Courtney's" being part of the show when it's a whole new cast. It makes for some interesting twists. I LOVE the idea of faves v. fans...and it's in MICRONESIA!!! I think I was more shocked by Courtney getting second than Todd winning. I have to say that the crowning moment of last night's 3 hour fiasco was PG telling Amanda to quit whining and own her place in the final 3!! My second favorite part of the night was Mark Burnet recognizing that the America's favorite lunch lady was deserving of $50k!! A GREAT season in my humble opinion!!

I think the interpretation is that her husband likes long hair so the compromise. However I actually think she'd look better with it all cut short. I was not surprised Amanda got only one vote. I could tell as soon as she screwed over Denise that was what would happen. The fact is she didn't say 'she had her back' just before the tribal but she did tell her "I WON"T WRITE YOUR NAME" which as it turned out was a lie. I didn't want Todd to win, but must agree he played a great game. I hadn't realized how much of a fan of the show he was. One thought though ... everyone goes in with a strategy ... (JR ... for example) and most of the time it doesn't go the way they had hoped. Todd, had a lot of luck with him for his to have worked. Taking nothing away from the way he played ... just that one thing happening differently and he could have been a loser instead of the winner. I was glad to see James win the audience voted money and happier still to see Denise get the 50,000 since she lost her job. She wasn't one of my favorite players but I hate to see anyone be in such a horrible position in life. So many have so much, and even more have so little so it pleases me that the producers gave her a very Merry Christmas.

I was a school custodian when I was a student, and while it's unpleasant, it pays better. Simply by virtue of the hours and benefits, she'd make more money doing that.

She told her she had her back two days before at a different tribal council. Amanda never lied and I think her reaction was more due to Todd blatantly throwing her under the bus. She should have found a way to correct Denise and quit playing to a non-existent pity party. That jury was not going to show any mercy. Second of all, I do believe the lunch lady's story about why she lost her job. She became one of my favorite underdogs in this game until she blew her opportunity and voted off Eric. That being said if she's dishing out lunches and these kids are asking her about her Survivor experience she's definitely causing problems and holding things up. Also, in the Survivors Fight Back blog on the cbs/survivor website early on, Amy from Guatamala said that Denise has sported that mullet since high school.

The Original Thundercat Posts: 209 Group: Member Member #604 Joined: January 25, 2006	I liked the part of the finale I saw (which was the end part, granted) I didn't understand why Denise got the 50K, honestly, except to keep up some illusion. As players on the game each person get's a per diem that is way higher than what normal people get per day. Denise easily earned over 30K from that for the time she was on the show. BUT, by Mark Burnett giving her the money, it's nothing to him, makes him look great, and keeps up the illusion that they don't get paid. I felt bad that she got fired, but really, she can do the talk circuit now and make tons more, she needs to broaden her horizons a bit. I knew James was going to get the 100K, love him. Oh yeah, did anyone else catch the boos when Courtney flipped the bird? Also, anyone else think Jeff was a little, uncouth with the "now you're heavier than before' comment to Courtney? Could have phrased it nicer. I thought she looked WAY better (not her hair though).

It was on the news this morning that she lied about being fired. or demoted or whatever it was she said. According to the school she was PROMOTED to custodian, which paid more money BEFORE leaving for the show. They gave her a leave of absence after the promotion. It is being decided now if the producers will go ahead and give her the money they promised. Being recognized and having to be moved to a less public position was all a lie.

FG I listened to the tapes of that conversation and I can't hear Amanda saying she didn't WANT to write her name down. It still sounds like she is saying I WON'T write your name down. I remember when all but one vote was for Denise how Amanda could justify the lie. Then just in case I listened again and heard the same thing. Maybe someone else can confirm what was said. I have certain pitches I can't hear so I am not going to say I am right. And in reviewing the tape, Amanda didn't see Todd's reaction until Jeff pointed it out to everyone. Then Todd tries to dance around why he made the expression he made. Amanda knew at that moment she had been caught in a lie. I liked Amanda, but she did lie on more than one occasion. I think she tried to be honest but sometimes she couldn't be. ON the other hand Courtney was honest to a fault. I am glad neither won.

But if she's 'asking that it be donated' then she's not the one giving them the money, so no tax break.
