Some, I thought should have been voted out long ago, won me over and some who had won me over in the past, joined the ranks of those I feel should have danced their last dance. As in the past there are times when the performances seemed like something you’d see at a dance school recital while others crested the summit with sensational performances. Tonight along with the group Rock and Roll dance, each couple will perform a dance they have not done before. First up are Sabrina and Mark dancing the Fox Trot. Sabrina is the celebrity I have always felt would go the distance and walk away with the top prize. This past week however was a whirlwind of rehearsals for her, not for Dancing with the Stars but for the Cheetah Girls. Mark tagged along and they tried to get as much dance practice in as possible, but I was let down with this performance. I still liked it better than a lot of the others who performed tonight, but Sabrina has been so great to this point you just expect her to come out and WOW every competition. Tonight it was just a wow, not a WOW. I give her a 9 though because I love watching her dance. Carrie Ann said the dance was wonderful, feisty and smooth and felt the other judges, especially Len was too hard on her. Len said he keeps saying he needs light and shade from Sabrina. This was TOO powerful. Bruno said she needs to work on her finesse. She lost her footing at one point but she did a great job. Carrie Ann gave her a 9 while Bruno and Len both gave her 8s for a total score of 25/30 The next couple up was one of the night’s big surprises for me, Jennie and Derek. Throughout the season I have found Jennie to be more of a dance school performer than someone I’d actually consider a possible professional. Tonight, she blew me away when she and Derek danced the Mambo. For the first time her movements were smooth and flowed seamlessly. She was a joy to watch and I was totally entertained. I gave her a 10 Bruno said the dance was steam heat, dirty dancing and what a difference a week can make. Carrie Ann said Jennie finally totally unveiled herself. It was great Len said, at this point in the competition she has to come out with an exceptional performance and SHE DID THAT! All three judges gave Jennie and Derek 9s for a total of 27/30 Oh the disappointment. After the tremendous joy of watching Jennie finally blossom, we are taken back to the dance school recital with Jane and Tony’s Jive. Jane seemed tentative and totally out of her element. It was sad to watch because in the past Jane has proven she can dance. I gave them a 6. Carrie Ann said she enjoyed the vibrancy but Jane is better than the dance. Len says she is nifty for fifty. He has loved her past dances but felt this was more like a ballet jive. She was not on the same wave length as the dance Bruno said she is a class act but she was not comfortable with this dance and he agrees with Len. Carrie Ann gave her an 8 while Len and Bruno gave her 7s for a total of 22/30 Joy to the world, the sexiest couple is on board to lift us out of the gloom of the last dance. Cameron and Edyta are sure to deliver a sizzling Samba. Maybe! I loved watching this dance but expected more. I kept waiting for the juicy stuff to happen but it never did. They did a good job, just not what I was looking for. I gave them an 8. Len said it was good in parts but didn’t capture the spirit of Brazil as they had promised it would. Bruno said there were good moments but their interpretation was tribal. Carrie Ann loved it. She said it showed the primal, jungle interpretation of the Samba. Carrie Ann gave them a 9. Len and Bruno both gave 8s for a total score of 25/30 The bickering duo, Mel and Maks are up next with the Rumba. After watching them on their rollercoaster ride of love and bickering during rehearsal, one wonders just how this will translate into their performance. It translated magnificently. I was in awe at the beauty of their dance and the passion and chemistry they brought to the table tonight. I gave them a 10 and would have given them more if I could. I was sorry to see the dance come to an end. Bruno said it was like a cliff hanger, love and hate, beautiful! Carrie Ann said she was mesmerized. It was sensual. It was the Rumba she had been waiting for. Len said perfection, fantastic and a lot more superlatives. All three judges gave them 10s for a perfect 30/30 The Pasa Doble danced by Marie and Jonathan is up next. Marie continues to apologize and try to explain the fainting spell last week. She says she has had this happen many times and she is fine and nothing is wrong with her. (Many have accused her of doing this as a publicity stunt. It was even mentioned as such on the news) She apologizes to the fans and feels she let them down and really wants to redeem herself this week. For his part, Jonathan works breathing into his routine. It was an entertaining performance and I loved Marie’s outfit. I’d have given her a 10 for the dress alone. It wasn’t the most passionate Pasa Doble of the season but they did a good job. I gave them an 8. Carrie Ann said she is glad Marie is back. The dance had passion but feels they played it safe. Len said he liked the start but then it paused before coming back in the end. He said it was dramatic, passionate and well done. Bruno said it started as if she was Catherine Zeta Jones and ended as if she were Catherine Zeta Cranky. (I have no idea what that means) Carrie Ann and Len gave her 8s and Bruno gave her a 7 for a total of 23/30 The last couple to dance was last week’s biggest disappointment, Helio and Julianne. The will dance the Cha Cha to “Get up off of that Thing” and what a way to end the evenings couples competition. This was an amazing comeback. I loved it and felt Helio was back in his element with his big pearly whites flashing throughout the dance. I give them a 9. Len said last week Helio was something he’s not but this week the Helio we love is back. Fantastic. Bruno said he has been rebranded, repackaged and is back in the race. Carrie Ann liked that he had the booty working overtime. She also is glad Helio is back. Bruno and Carrie Ann gave them 9s and Len gave them a 10 for a total of 28/30. The group Rock and Roll dance was next. They performed to Rockin Robin. It was fun to watch but I really don’t have much else to say about it. The standings for the night: Mel and Maks – 30 Helio and Junlianne – 28 Jennie and Derek – 27 Sabrina and Mark – 25 Cameron and Edyta – 25 Marie and Jonathan – 23 Jane and Tony – 22 I think Jane and Tony should be going home this week.

As far as the Marie debacle goes, there is a sound-byte of freakin' Maks selling her out. He's claiming that she's starving herself and that's why she passed out. I'm sorry, I know he's a favorite here, but what a tool! I thought that Jane and Tony were sub-par for them, but they didn't stink nearly as much as Marie and Jonathan. Marie normally makes up for in performance what she lacks in the dance and she just didn't sell it last night. I think she's a bit overwhelmed and a little tired. I think her time is up. I voted for everyone but the boys. I'm not convinced that Cameron can actually "dance". He's got a few good moves, but he's not really "dancing" in my humble opinion. I think the only thing holding the boys here at this point is their professional partners and how stunning they are. Did anybody else hear about Julianne's little indiscretion during their interview with Samantha? Apparently, she "let one slip" while Samantha was giving out their voting information. I missed it, but my radio station played it over and over this morning. Classic! I have to say that my favorite dance of the evening belonged to Jennie and Derek. The choreography was exquisite!!!

LOL I feel Jane should go because she set a standard for herself that she has not maintained or sustained, or whatever. Marie never did that. She performs, smiles, acts, entertains and that she has done. I have a feeling they might boot Marie simply because of the fainting spell but we'll see. Cameron is NOT a great dancer but he's HOT!
