Easin' into summertime...

Last night's finale' was disappointing in that it was only an hour long. I wish there was a way to watch the after-party, but I guess even the video-voyeurs bringing this to us from inside the house need to blow off some steam too. *sigh* After reviewing the season's houseguests get kicked out one by one, we finally get to take a trip to the jury house and watch the evicted jury members arrive for their round-table discussion. It was made clear that they really wanted to see one of the Donato's come around the bushes. First, we have to witness Eric getting his final assignment. He is to campaign and vote for DICK to win Big Brother 8. ![]() Round Table of Block Heads! Zach finally makes his way to the round table and everybody somewhat deflates. Eric assures him that if it were one of the Donato's that showed up he would have won the show 6-1. Easy to say now, but I'm sure the warm fuzzy feelings will fade when he watches the show and all the not-so-wonderful things this particular group had to say about the level-headed Rogre. Jen has to bring up the fact that the Donato's are both horrible evil people. Dustin brings up Dick's behavior and how he doesn't want to reward it. Eric points out that there is nothing in the rules that says you have to be "nice, honest, and loyal" to play this game. They all look properly chagrined with this statement and continue on. Daniele's win/loss record is discussed and Eric points out that Dick's wasn't so bad either. The discussion seems to favor Daniele a bit more and Eric is looking worried. I don't know why, it's not like he's getting any more money for this one task. Jessica makes a point of reminding everyone that Daniele did the same thing, she just did it quieter. Amber quickly agrees. Zach makes the analogy that Dick is the guard dog, but Daniele is holding the leash. They all nod in agreement. Dustin finishes the round table by saying "it will either be Evel or evel's spawn who wins this game." ![]() Facing the Jury Being an impatient person, I surfed the web and read Chairo's reports on Daniele and Dick's reaction following the jury questions. Daniele was acting like the whiney little princess that she is and at one point blamed Dick for their horrible questions that they asked her. I was expecting some old fashioned interrogation tactics via satellit, but this is actually what went down. Well, the Cliff's Notes version anyway. Dustin opens up the deliberations by congratulating them and looking very superior and bitchy and asks Dick how it feels to be sitting next to his daughter at the end and some other crap I didn't write down because I was bored with the question. Amber then confronts Daniele and asks her why she should give Daniele a vote after the way she treated her real-life boyfriend. Daniele without hesitation tells Amber that her personal life has nothing to do with the way she played the game and if she is going to base her decision on her personal life she doesn't want her damn vote anyway. Oooh Amber....DENIED! Amber looked like she was going to vomit when she realized how right Daniele was. Jessica is up and asks Dick who he would want sitting next to him other than Daniele. Dick says no one. He said the thought never crossed his mind. He always pictured him in the finale' with his daughter. Eric asks Dick why each juror would deserve to be in the final two. They are all waiting for some warm fuzzies from Uncle Dick, but what they get is true-blue Evel Dick, ED, Evel, whatever. He basically poitns out one by one why none of them deserved to be in the final two. He gives Eric mad props and even Zach got a little pat on the back too. Zach wants to know what each of them got from their fellow housemates on the jury while in the house. Daniele does her usual pretty smile and used car salesman slime voice goes through and piles on the BS with each houseguest. Most of them are rolling their eyes, but unfortunately she cannot see this. Dick doesn't disappoint and attacks each house guest as he has done all summer and they all look properly put in their place. ![]() Jen of course has to preface her question with something about her. "I don't respect either of you." She then does something that shocked not only most of the viewing audience, but Dick as well. She asks him what he gained in his relationship with his daughter. Dick is sputtering a response, but his answer is honest and to the point and is the exact thing he's been saying all summer in the house. Daniele agrees. Parting Pleas Daniele works her fake nice routine right into the ground and asks the houseguests to vote with their hearts and do what they think is best. Dick on the other hand does not let his fan club down and proves yet again that he's sticking to his game play right to the end. He tells them he didn't fly under the radar, he couldn't. He continues on by pointing out that he did most of the dirty work and then outs Jessica and Eric in the plot to oust Dustin Eric squirms again and he finishes up by proclaiming "I did what needed to be done". The video feed to the jury house is cut off and we're left watching Dick and Daniele's reaction. Daniele gets up and storms off. Dick asks her what her problem is. She is pissed because Dick did a better job of explaining his game play than she did and it didn't help that she felt she was being personally attacked by the houseguests. You can see the hamster wheel in Dick's head just cranking away as he is trying to figure out what he could have possibly done wrong. Nothing sweetheart. You just finished your game a lot better than your daughter. It's not your fault, you have age and wisdom on your side and the jury was on to her long before the questions were even asked. Votes are Cast and Revealed Along with So Much More Cut to a live shot of Dick and Daniele in the BB living room where Julie does the chatty thing with them before telling them that the jury is present and will be voting. I have to note that when the jury members were introduced and came out to take their seats in the studio the auience on the left side of the stage stood up when Amber came out making her believe she got a standing ovation when, in fact, they were just trying to get a better view of the jury as they came out. The girl is lucky she wasn't pelted with tomatos. Each member of the jury is allowed to make a statement before casting their vote. Eric gets to go first and he tells them his vote was a clear cut choice. Jameka is casting her vote for the player who she respects more. Dustin follows Jameka and says something about actions speaking louder than words. Don't worry, I didn't get it either. Jen votes and of course states I would prefer to vote for anyone in the house but you two. Amber voted for whom ever Dustin voted for and Zach casts his vote. Jessica is the final vote and states her vote is for the person she had more fun with in the house. When we come back from commercial Julie is standing with two people and I was all "who the hell is that"? My 10 year old points out that it's probably Dick and Dani's family. I'm a huge dork sometimes. It is in fact, Dick's mom and son or for you Daniele fan's her gramma and brother. Vincent assures us that this is Dick all the time. Mama Donato hopes the two can maintain a relationship now that they are outside of the house. COME ON!! Let's get on with it!!! Good Lord, now we have to bring back the losers who were kicked out earlier and set them on the loser side of the stage. Now she has to ask them innane questions. We don't care that Carol's feelings were hurt by some of the things Jessica said about her after she left. We don't care that Mike has feelings for Zach. Is CBS wanting to produce another reality tv wedding by continuing the whole Nick/Daniele thing? Let it go, it's not gonna last longer than this weekend. SheeshBefore Julie pulls the keys to determine the winner, she first has a surprise for the huoseguests. We then get to see the video montage of Eric as "America's Player". Those houseguests that weren't in the know looked positively floored. It was a great reveal. Daniele tries to connvince us that she and her dad knew something was up, but you could tell they weren't even in the right playing field with their assumptions. Dick is flattered that America chose to save him over Dustin. I wish we could have seen Dustin's reaction or at least the smug look that must have been all over Joe's face. And The WINNER Is... The votes are revealed and Dick is the winner. I think there were only two people here at ART that were either surprised or disappointed. Most of knew that he'd win because well DICK RULES!!! The votes were 5-2 once Julie reveals that Jessica voted for Dick too. The pity votes for Daniele came from Jen and Jameka who were stupid enough to actually vote with their hearts. So ends another season of Big Brother. I don't know how they are going to top next year. I hope they can find a way to bring in America's player again, but then again watching a bunch of houseguests suspect each other of being America's Player next year when their isn't one could be fun. There was talk of Dick saying on the Live Feeds that he couldn't wait to read what some of the sites are saying and I hope our humble little site makes its way to Dick's PC. If it does and you read this Dick, please, please PM me so I can get an interview. I have some very juicy questions I would love to ask you.

Great recap FG. Too bad it wasn't on the feeds. There were a number of expressions I'd have loved to have caught and post. Eric's squirming when Dick outed him and Jessica was priceless. Dick played this game better than anyone and I am overjoyed he won. AND if you get that interview, invite me a long too. After all we were Dick fans from day one. DICK RULES |

The only thing that I really wished I could have seen last night were some of the reactions during the AP reveal. They really should've done a split screen, especially when they showed that America wanted Eric to vote Amber out! |
