Welcome, faithful reader, to another amazing recap of this summer’s delight of fashion, music, and of course, dancing. Our usual host, funnygirl, is still deep in negociations after erroneous and downright preposterous rumors began to swirl about yours truly. But, never fear dearest readers, as my designer dresses and shoes will temporarily keep her space warm while she works so hard behind the scenes. Joining me in paid labor this week is someone who needs no introduction, but I’m sparing no expense and I’m getting the red carpet out. This week, we have the always stylish Chairo, who graces our panel with her wonderful knowledge of all things that make you shake what your mama gave ya. A big round of applause is in order for this true legend of dancing. *ahem* Let’s get on with the show, shall we? Our real host, thy Cat, is wearing what I can only describe as a mermaid dress. It gets her rave compliments from guest judge Adam Shankman, alongside Mary and Nigel. The remaining dancers will perform two dances, which is very exciting! First to show off their skills are none other than Danny and Sara. For their first dance, they will perform some Alex Da Silva choreography. Just by the looks of Sara’s boots, this Argentine Tango won’t disappoint! They are performing to a song called Whatever Lola Wants by Sarah Vaughan, remixed by Gotan Project. chairo: That pretzel move was totally awesome. The two of you oooozed sexy. Sara, the B-girl you continue to amaze me. I have yet to see a dance you couldn’t master. Danny as usual you took my breath away. Boo: How can this girl move that fast with those boots on? Huge props for that! I like the feel of this dance and I think both of you performed it to the best of your abilities. Great start to the show. Their second time on the stage featured some good ol’ Shane Sparks Hip Hop. We are being reminded that Shane did not want Danny to advance to the top 20… after working with him this week, he has changed his mind. With some Push It form Salt-N-Peppa, did their ketchup spilled on mustard outfits outdance them? chairo: As I have mentioned before I am not a Hip Hop fan but as soon as I saw you outfits I sat up and took notice. There is nothing I can say but awesome. You two have become my favorites. The chemistry between the two of you tonight was more than I expected. You both sold it. Boo: The outfits did not bother me as much as how jello-y Danny seemed to be at the beginning of the number. Sara, you were in your element and I thought you did great. Nice try Danny but better luck next time. Our next couple is none other than Dominic and Lauren. They are lucky enough to get krump with Lil C and as a bonus; they get a 50 cent tune! I Get Money. What's not to like? chairo: I feel the two of you were mismatched. Neither brought out what was good in the other. The routine was not horrible but it wasn’t up to par with where we are right now in the competition. Lauren you have been one of my favorites since the beginning of the competition. Tonight I felt a little let down by this performance. Dominic I will be surprised if you are with us next week Boo: I knew Lauren fell! I’m glad you were honest about it, even if I’m sure it took a lot of effort to do it. I thought that maybe you guys were thinking too much about each move and forgot about the showmanship aspect of the routine. Their second dance was done by Tony Meredith. Their rumba is focused on romance and being close to each other and all that jazz. In other news, Lauren is not in immediate need of self-confidence help in any shape or form. Ain’t No Sunshine by Bill Whitters is the sexy track to this number. chairo: You two redeemed yourselves with this dance in my eyes. You meshed and I loved watching you dance. Lauren, you had a couple of missteps and that may hurt you when compared to the rest of the dancers. I hope you are with us next week, but it’s possible you won’t be. Boo: That dress is so nice! I’ll put it in my recapping budget, me thinks. Anyway, that was such a sexy number! Dominic never ceases to amaze me when he’s dressed in black. I liked it, but I’m not entirely sure it will save you from the bottom. I still think my ears are ringing after the screams heard around the world for this particular individual. Neil (shirtless and might I say a surprising sight) and Lacey, are the next couple to dance. They are performing a latin jazz routine by Maria Torres. It involves a lift that let’s admit, Lacey must be glad that Neil is her partner and not Dominic. The music you hear is provided by Ray Barretto and it is called Acid. Whoa. chairo: I absolutely loved the lift. You nailed it. But for me the two of you may as well have been dancing solos. There was no chemistry what so ever. Lacey I would say this was your worst performance ever. You did all the moves but didn’t rely on your partner at all. Neil, you need to relax more and at least look like you are having fun with what you are doing. Boo: Neil, you are improving each week and, while it might have to do with not having a shirt on, I think you outperformed Lacey this time around. Sorry. What to say about the next part of the show. Mia Michaels’ contemporary piece was about reunion, specifically about Mia’s dad who has passed away and herself, portrayed by Neil and Lacey respectively. Tons and tons of fake flowers are all over the stage, accompanied by a song called Time by Billy Porter. chairo: The absolute best dance of the night. You two redeemed yourselves 150%. Lacey WOW. You nailed it girl. Neil, you did so well with this number I am not sure anyone will remember the first performance. Boo: I’ll say it again, I know next to nothing about contemporary dancing but I think you two got the emotional part of the routine perfectly. There was a lot of pressure to do it as well as you could and I think you both did. At last, there was a connection between the two of you. Sabra seems extatic that her partner is Pasha for this week. First off, they are working with the adorable Tyce Diorio for a lil bit of Broadway (musical piece: A Wild Wild Party from The Wild Party). They are running all over the place and seem to have fun, but let’s see if the judges liked it. chairo: The two of you had great chemistry. You nailed the dance and you both gave a terrific performance. Once again Sabra you impressed and Pasha you made your partner look good. Boo: My appreciation for Pasha grows more each week and you didn’t disappoint me yet. Seeing you two dancing together makes it impossible not to like it. You owned every inch of that stage, and your performance level was off the charts. Quick steppin’ their way to the stage with Tony Meredith, Sabra is shown struggling a little bit with the routine. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and their song Mr. Pinstripe Suit fits pretty well with the…pinstripe suits they are wearing. chairo: I hated it. From the costumes to the dance, I hated it. At one point Pasha it seemed you were dragging Sabra because she couldn’t keep up. Sabra you were not awful but this was not one of you better dances. Boo: I think Pasha carried the whole routine on his feet, so to speak. I like that style, the music and the costumes together, but I’m not entirely sure that you Sabra, felt comfortable enough. You still have great chemistry and I’m not worried about your safety this week. Any final thoughts, jidges? chairo: The best couple of the evening as far as chemistry was Danny and Sara. The best dancers of the night were Lacey and Neil’s contemporary dance. The worst of the night were Dominic and Lauren. Boo: For the first time this season, I liked Lauren, and I think her rumba with Dominic was hot! Pasha handled it like a pro this week, and so did Sara. With all these dances, what's left to talk about? Ah, yes, the predictions for the next show. chairo: My prediction is that Dominic and Lauren will go home (I hope Lauren doesn’t but the other girls danced much better than she did tonight) Boo: Same prediction for me, but I will miss Dom's antics more than Lauren's attitude. So it seems that while we had different opinions on the dances, we arrived to the same conclusion. Now if you'll excuse us, we are off shopping with our brand new twelve dollars and twenty cents our hostess got us for our hard work. Until next time, always find a way to get your groove on, in the streets, at work, heck even right now on your computer chair! I absolutely hated Sara and Danny's hip hop routine. I also did not like the Krumping by Lauren and Dom. |

Hi guys! Tonight was not one of my favorites. There were definitely some dances I liked, but overall I felt let down by the dances/dancers. The ones I liked: Pasha and Sabra's broadway routine Danny and Sara's latin jazz Pasha and Sabra's quickstep (even though I caught the missteps, I loved the performance) Dom and Lauren's rumba Okay, I guess there were 1/2 of them that I liked, but none that were amazing to me. Now, I am covering my ears to get ready for the "boos", I really didn't like Lacey and Neil's contemporary dance. Maybe it was my mood, I don't know. I definitely liked Neil and thought he did better than Lacey, but it didn't "get me" like I know it did for so many others. Although I like watching Lacey and I think she is gorgeous, something has been bothering me about her for quite a while now and two weeks ago I finally thought of the word: contrived. I think she knows what is expected of her and what emotions should be shown, but instead of her feeling those emotions and communicating them to the audience, I think she is putting on an act. I just don't believe her. Another thing I don't like is she always seems to be aware of where the cameras are and she plays it up for them. Like last week in the results show when she was declared safe and was walking back down into the audience she looked over at the camera. All the other dancer just went down and hugged the other dancers. I don't know why it bothers me so much. For the bottom 4 I would say Lauren and Lacey with Lauren going home for the girls and Dominic and ???? for the guys with Dominic going home. I would say from my perspective that the other in the bottom will be Danny, but I know he has a huge fan base and it isn't that i don't like him, I just liked Pasha and Neil better last night. |

Loved, loved, loved Neil and Lacey performing Mia's tribute to her dad. It was beautiful, touching and intensely personal. Most emotional dance since Ivan and Allison last season. |

I cried like a baby...but I can't help but wonder if it would have been so emotional had we not known the back-story. I'm glad we are finally done with Dominic. I'm so sorry that Sarah left before Lauren, but not overly so. Is it just me or have we just not witnessed a really good hip-hop, krumping, street-type dance this season? |

I "kind of" liked Hok and Jamie's hip hop from way back on the first night and I also liked Jesús and Sara's Krumping but that's it.
I didn't get to see the show because I'm from the Twin Cities and everything was preempted. I did hear that they will re-air it on Sunday afternoon so I'm very excited. I was still able to see three of the dances on the internet and I'm surprised that someone besides myself wasn't all that impressed with the quickstep. I love Sabra and think she did a really good job but there was just something lacking in her technique somehow. I also got to see the Mia routine but the computer clip was way too small, I can't wait to see in my TV screen. Can't wait until next week
