Easin' into summertime...

There were huge storms that tore through Northwest Indiana last night. Luckily enough, they didn't hit my small, but humble town until after the show, however, the quality was poor since the satellite kept blurring. So if some of my info is off a bit, I apologize, but I just didn't get a good quality picture last night. Tonight we are down to the final 12. Tonight's the night that our Top 10 dancers will be revealed and I will know whether I will invest money in tickets for the tour. Cat Deeley appears to us in a drapey, coral, mini ensemble that make her look like the 7' tall amazon that Dominic seems to think she is. The guest judge on the live show tonight is Wade Robson which means we won't get to see one of his way-cool choreographed numbers he's known for. The only thing that keeps me from bursting into tears is knowing that we'll get a group number from him tomorrow night. I have to point out that Mary is wearing giraffe print (yes, that's giraffe print) in black and white. Maybe she thought if she dressed like a giraffe she would get the same comments that Cat received from Dominic since she seems to be quite enamored with the boy. ![]() Now the moment you've all be waiting for...the annoucement of our ART judges. This week I'm very excited to announce the guest judge is the incomparable Boo!! The crowd goes wild A little known fact is that Boo is quite accomplished in deep sea water ballet. It's a lesser-known area, but still spectacular just the same. If you get a chance, try and catch a performance. Straight from the SYTYCD threads is our next guest judge...Jay! Welcome to the panel Jay. Now tell us what makes you qualified to sit on our panel? Jay: "I got an opinion." Oookay....let's get started with the show. The producers are asking the dancers what they like and dislike most about their partners. The answers were all pretty stupid so I'm going to stick to the meat and potatoes of the show and get on with it. Sabra & Dominic start the show off with a Jive number choreographed by Tony Meredith. They discuss Sabra's trust issues with Dominic in the short clip before they dance and Dom doesn't know why she doesn't trust him. We get to see bits of many moments where he's been less than careful with her, including dropping her on her head during the live group performance last week. All I can say is OUCH!! You big freakin' neanderthal, be more careful with her!!! I Do the Jerk - Tony Shaw Funnygirl: Your lifts were incredibly sloppy Dominic. You looked like you were struggling the entire time. Your kicks and flicks were lacking and really showed your amateur status. Sabra I commend you for being able to make him look good. Boo: I'm going to miss the two of you dancing together because even when you make small mistakes, it doesn't take away from the chemistry that you have. Special points for Dominic for looking so good in that outfit. Not that I was looking at anything but technique, of course... Jay: First, a big thank you to funnygirl for allowing me to occupy one of the comfy judge's chair for this evening! Dominic and Sabra, the practice video clearly illustrates why you both should be considered one of the front runners every week. The fun and chemistry off stage comes onto the main stage in a huge way. The jive was crisp and smooth and so much fun to watch. I loved Dominic's overhead lift and Sabra's complete confidence way off the ground. You both will be back next week Jamie & Hoc are up next and they will be gracing us with a Broadway number. They go to see Tyce DiOrio very excited and he tells them it's not going to be a typical Broadway production. Hoc will be an old man who wants one last chance to dance and Jamie will be portraying his spirit. Bo Jangles- Fosse Soundrack Funnygirl: I loved this number. I wish you had the dancing chops to keep up with Jamie, but for your limited training I think you did very well. I think by telling us the story behind the dance you set yourself to be criticized. The choreography didn't match the story that was given to us, but that isn't your fault. Boo: Mmm... what was that? It was okay for the dancing part but you two didn't seem connected at times, which took away from the whole spirit-old man story. Maybe a change in partnership would help the two of you. Jay: I'm such a sucker for great broadway dancing. Jamie, again you displayed a wonderful grace which you make look so easy. Hok, I love how in the previous weeks you were able to submerse yourself in the story telling aspect of the dance but tonight, the old man routine just didn't work for me. You were not believable as an old man. Sarah and Pasha pull Jazz out of the hat this week and seem to be excited about it. They come in waving their jazz hands and choreographer Mandy Moore tells them that she's all about the jazz hands and so is this piece they will be performing. Body Language - Queen Funnygirl: You two are amazing together! The choreography was sic and you guys nailed it. I really enjoyed watching the whole dance unfold. Sarah I don't know why you would limit yourself as a B-girl, you are so incredibly talented. Boo: I can't say anything bad about Pasha because I think he is the best ever at everything in this world and if he could play hockey I'd want him on my team. However, I'm getting paid for this gig so I might as well say something constructive. At first I hated the routine but you two are so likeable and good that by the end of it, I had a smile of my face. It didn't look easy to achieve but it was visually appealing. Props to y'all. Jay: I thought that jazz routine did not allow either of you to be your best. I felt there was more posing than actual dancing. While you both danced reasonably well, it wasn't outstanding and may not be good enough to keep you out of the bottom 3 tonight. Sorry. Lauren and Niel are super excited because they get to work with Mia Michaels this week to put together a contemporary piece. Lauren shows us all the bruises she's garnered trying to put the piece together. Let's see if it all paid off. Let the Drummer Kick - Citizen Cope Funnygirl: It was quirky and well executed at the front of the routine. The end was lacking. Lauren, you appeared to have a lot more energy going into the end of the routine than Neil. I'm sorry that wardrobed covered your faces like that because Neil's facials really helped sell your dance last week. You guys may be in trouble this week. Boo: I'm not an expert when it comes to Mia routines or that whole contemporary style, but that didn't blow me away. I loved the song and most of the moves but except for last week, you two as a couple are not believable. Jay: At the beginning of the dance, when you both side by side, there was a bit of lack of synchronization. Neil, you were a little too fast for Lauren but that did not detract much from the routine. I did not like the hat and googles; they hid your eyes and face which are the tools with which you convey your emotions. I may have enjoyed the dance more if your faces were revealed. However, definitely one of the oddest routines in a while. Danny & Anya are next to hit the stage. They will be dancing a jazzy Fox Trot this week according to choreograph Jean Marc Gidereaux. Danny complains that Anya makes him rehearse until late into the night and Anya comes back with Danny has a problem keeping focus and paying attention. I didn't get who sang it because they were flashing flood warnings across the bottom of my television screen. - It Had to Be You Funnygirl: Danny you know I love you and I am your biggest supporter. Thank you THANK YOU for coming out of your shell and showing us your beautiful personality. It made you dancing that much more delightful to watch. Anya, you were very graceful and elegant this evening and your partnering was flawless. Boo: You two are pros, no question about it. I was so very happy to see you smile, Danny. To this point, your attitude was bugging me and I couldn't enjoy your performances because of it. Tonight it was beautiful, elegant and professional. You're not going anywhere. Jay: Anya, I'm a huge fan of yours. Your grace and beauty shone like a supernova tonight. The foxtrot was yours to own. Danny, you ruled the stage like a lion. Your power and grace is un-matched by any of the other male dancers. Well done! Last but not least is Lacy & Kameron. What will they surprise and amaze us with tonight. If I''m not mistaken, we are due a hip-hop number. I'm right...they will be performing a Dan Karaty choreographed hip-hop selection. Here I Come Fergie Funnygirl: I didn't like it. Sorry, but the whole thing sucked. The music, the choreography, the performance reeked! I think pulling Dan Karaty as a choreographer is the kiss of death this season. He's the most judgmental of hte judges yet he constantly lets you dancers down. If you guys aren't in the bottom 3 tomorrow, consider yourselves very fortunate. I would sneak out tonight and put some graffiti on Dan's car if I were you. I hate to say this Kameron, but your solo sucked so bad the cameraman followed Lacey to the corner of the stage and stayed on her. Boo: For the first time, Lacey, I couldn't enjoy the dance moves because of how the routine was build up. It did seem a bit forced but that is probably just me. Kameron, you are great and cute and all that jazz (an you can give me your number *wink*) but your solo was just slightly better than the great Napoleon Dynamite. Jay: The hip hop routine wasn't as gritty or as sharp as I hoped it would be. The dance suffered from a lack of credibility. Cameron, I'm afraid your solo wasn't great. Lacey, you were more successful in your performance. True, neither of you are hip hop dancers but in the past, we have had non hip hop dancers excel in this genre. Some final thoughts from our non-paid guest judge Jay. Jay: At this point of the competition, I expected an amazing show and was somewhat disappointed. The quality of the dancing was a little uneven. The gap between the top and bottom couples is fairly large. Top : Dominic and Sabra, Danny and Anya Bottom : Pasha and Sara, Neil and Lauren, Cameron and Lacey Going home : Pasha and Lauren Boo, uh, I believe that you'll have to pick up your check from somebody in production. I wasn't aware that anybody was getting paid for this. They won't give me a wardrobe allowance, but you get a check for your critiques? How important you must be. :shifty Funnygirl stomps off to management to address the issue of wardrobe yet again. |

I am still not an Anya fan so would pick her to leave over any of the others. Danny is okay and I believe he should be in the group that stays. I thought Lacey, Lauren, Sara and Sabra were awesome. too bad they can't send two guys home. I love Pasha and think he and Sara make an awesome couple. It will be easier to judge each individual dancer when they are torn away from their partners. If I have to choose a guy to go home it would be Neil or Kameron. I know Anya will probably not be the woman to leave so I'd have to say Sabra .... not that I don't like her because I do but I like the others more. Great job guest judges. (BTW ... if Boo is getting paid I want my cut of the money too! LOL) |

May I remind you that you got to sit in the comfy "jidges" chair AND hang out with moi?! Designer dresses? That's it! I quit! You can find a new head judge/hostess and all around great recapper for this gig! I've been starving myself, biking, lifting weights and all for nothing? You suck production!
