ART Appreciator Posts: 34 Group: Member Member #349 Joined: August 18, 2005	I thought the judges were pretty harsh on Hok. How exactly do you dance like an old man? And its not his fault he didn't have alot of exciting choreography. I actually liked their dance. But my favorite was Lacey and Kameron.

Opinionated Posts: 3,739 Group: Writer Member #317 Joined: August 14, 2005	I don't think Hok would have received such harsh criticism if he hadn't said prior to the dance he was portraying an old man. The expectations were different than they would have been if he had said nothing. I am a HOK fan but at this point in the competition I would not be upset if he and Jamie went home. I can't see either of them winning the whole thing. I really think Sara has turned out to be a real surprise. I expected a lot from Lacey and Lauren but didn't expect Sara to blow me away week after week. I think Pasha and Danny are my favorite guy dancers. Didn't like Danny at first but FG has pushed for him so much he is growing on me LOL

I think Hoc has the charisma to go the distance, but he's had a rough couple of weeks with the judges. I agreed with last week's criticism of his waltz, but this week's critiques were unwarranted. I thought they pulled it off beautifully. For the guys, I like Danny :wub:, Hoc, Neil and Pasha (but only when he's dancing). For the girls: Lacey, Jamie, Sarah, Lauren and Anya (but only when she's dancing). I know it looks like I have something against Russians, I don't. I think when these two dance, they truly light up.

Hok left too and that sort of surprised me., I don't think he was the worst of the guys. Your precious Danny stayed though, aren't you just grinning from ear to ear

I'd love to see him paired up with Hoc's partner. TOo bad Kameron and Lacey weren't in the bottom 3 or he would have been a goner. Neil was somewhat amazing last night, but Hoc really lit up the stage. They just didn't think his growth was good enough...they felt that Anya could not perform solo. :rolleyes: I would have sent Lauren home last night. Edited to add: I think this show is straying so far from what it started out to be. I know the caliber of dance has increased dramatically, but they were supposed to find dancers of all styles and see who could adapt the best. Granted, Hoc couldn't do some of the leaps and spins that the contemporary dancers can do, but he did hold his own. The tour will be sorely lacking without him because Dominic is not a good representative of the B-boys if you ask me.

They have a hard time experssing themselves vocally sometimes. I got what he was trying to say, but he had a hard time "critiquing" the dancers. I don't think he was bad-mouthing Hoc or even Neil & Lauren. I think he was trying to constructively tell them what their problems were from the audience's point of view (in his own way). I saw Hoc and Anya on Reality Remix Weekend yesterday and Hoc said something very poignant. He said it's nice to hear great reviews, but they learn more by the criticisms so it doesn't bother them as much as you would think.
