What seems like eons has only been one week since our last live performance. We're down to the top 14 dancers. Let's see what this evening has in store for us. I'm sure we're in for a huge treat because the lovely Cat Deeley has worn something sparkly. The guest judge on the live show tonight is none other than Adam Shankman who has just finished wrapping up "Hairspray" the newest musical to come out of Hollywood. Also of mention tonight is that it's Nygel Lythgoe's birthday. Happy Birthday Nyge! Cat asks Nygel about the feedback they received for letting Jessie go. Apparently, Jessie has a lot of fans. At least 1,000 of them were willing to forge names several times on a petition to bring her back to the show, but Nygel would have nothing to do with that. He compares the show to the olympics and I have to agree with him. You hurt yourself before your event after waiting four long years and being the current favorite to win they don't do a redo when you're all better just so you can compete. ![]() We don't care about the network judges though. We only care about our own esteem panel. This week our judges are the lovely Chairo, Vanilla is in the house, back by popular demand. Finally, you're stuck with the unpopular opinions of the Funnygirl. ![]() Tonight's dancers are sharing little known facts about themselves. Lacy & Kameron are up first. Lacy tells us that she was a hair model. Her has has been cut and colored in so many different styles that it is so short now she has to wear a weave. Kameron tells us he's a daredevil on the weekends. Tonight they are dancing the "Hustle". It's not the Hustle that we old folks grew up with, but a newer New York version and it's choreographed by Maria Torres. The music is Aint No Mountain High Enough by Inner LifeChairo: I really enjoyed watching you dance to night. The two of you were really hot. Lacy I love your outfit. You two have set the bar high tonight. I have never seen a hustle like this and must confess I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. Well done. I am sure you will be with us next week. Vanilla: You guys did a great job! Very entertaining. The only criticism I have is that Lacey out-shined you Cameron. What a great start to the evening. Lacey you looked gorgeous. Funnygirl: It was a fantastic way to start the show. I still think Lacy is dancing circles around Kameron. Kameron if you don't manage to find a way to stick out other than dying stars into your hair the minute you are stuck with a mediocre girl you're going down! Shauna & Cedric are next to go. Shauna loves to snowboard and Cedric was his high school mascot which was a giant orange cat with purple fringe. They are dancing the Mambo choreographed by Alex DiSilva. Flueta Y Timbal Tito PuentaChairo: Cedric, you turned my opinion of your dance ability upside down. I can’t believe you can move those hips like you did. WOW. Shauna you were flawless as usual. My only complaint is that Cedric, there were times when you seemed a little tentative and stiff. I think as good as the two of you were tonight you will probably be in the bottom 3 next week. Vanilla: Wow – much better than I thought it would be. Shauna – you did a great job – great movement and body control. Cedric – A few times you looked lost by the choreography and maybe it was because of your long, lanky body, but your arms and legs seemed out of control sometimes. Funnygirl: I thought it stunk. Yeah, Cedric you did better dude, but you are nowhere near the talent of the rest of the cast. Shauna you're lovely but you are not a partnering dancer. Danny and Anya prepare to go next, but first Danny tells us that he has a sunglasses fetish and Anya was a blonde in Russia who studied international law so she's "legally blonde" They have chosen Contemporary this week and it is choreographed by Tyce DiOrio. Apologize One RepublicChairo: Though the two of you danced technically perfect, I just didn’t like watching the dance. I was not riveted and can’t put my finger on exactly why. No matter how well you do a dance if you don’t have that ‘it’ factor that captures people’s attention, you have missed the mark. Vanilla: Danny, first of all, lose the sunglasses. I loved the work on the floor. I could feel the tension between you and I felt the anticipation for you to come together and the pain that you never did come back together. Great job. This is the first time that I really liked you guys and really “believed” your dance. Funnygirl: Danny I have a huge crush on you and can watch you dance for days and Anya the sultry that you bring to the dances really helps to pull the pieces together. I think you guys work brilliantly together and if the network judges quit making you guys class pets, you will make the Top 10 on America's votes. Sarah and Pasha are new partners this week since they lost their partners in last week's elimination. Sarah reveals to us that she was a figure skater until she was in the 7th grade. Pasha confides that he's a closet computer geek. They are dancing a Benji Schwimmer choreographed (with the help of his lovely assistant and my favorite female dancer from last season, Heidi) West Coast Swing. The Rockafeller Skank Fatboy Slim Chairo: As I was watching you two dance together for the first time I was totally captivated by your dance and the chemistry you developed in just one short week. Another thing I noticed as you danced was how familiar the movements seemed. It was like déjŕ vu and then I realized you were both moving like Benji and that was a GOOD thing. Bravo Bravo. Best of the night so far. Vanilla: I loved the way you used the stairs in the beginning, but then after that it seemed a little “plastic”, just doing the moves, but no emotion. I was pleasantly surprised in the middle because then it got really, REALLY good. I loved how the movements really worked with the music. Good job. Sarah – WOW – you made it look easy and like you have been doing that for years. Funnygirl: I disagree with my esteemed colleagues in a couple of instances. I could totally see Benji and Heidi's stamp on this choreography and couldn't help but wonder as we got into the middle of it how much better it would look if they did the dance. Ah, memories. : I loved the music and the choreography but I missed the bounciness that this dance usually offers. There was quite a bit of personality that could have come with this dance as well that Sara was lacking for me. Pasha you did put the Benji personality into it, but it could have gone more over the top. Our next couple is Sabra and Dominic. Sabra tells us she was in High School Musical as a background dancer and Dominic tries to charm us with some crap about having a crush on the seven foot tall, french accented Cat Deeley. :shifty They draw Hip-Hop from the hat. This week's hip-hop routine is choreographed by Shane Sparks. Make it Work Ne-Yo Chairo: Since I am not a big fan of Hip Hop it’s hard for me to judge the two of you. The dance did not hold my attention but the two of you did. You both just continue to impress week after week. Vanilla: I was not impressed with what you chose to share in the beginning Dominic– you could have taken the chance to share something really cool, but you didn’t, I was disappointed. Whew – it is hot in here – your chemisty is amazing!!! I absolutely LOVED this dance and couldn’t take my eyes off you guys it was SO amazing. Sabra – you did a great job in hip hop and you looked like a natural. Although I wish it showcased more of Dominic’s abilities, it was great! Funnygirl: Thank God you can dance well together because on personal level Dominic comes off smarmy and Sabra your kind of bland. In fact, if you end up partnering with Kameron it could be very forgetable. I have to give props to Shane Sparks for choreographing a beautiful piece. Hoc tells us that he loves to play the violin and Jamie wanted to be a basketball player. They chose Smooth Waltz as their dance and we have another new choreographer tonight and her name is Toni Redpath. Angel Sarah McLaughlin Chairo: First Jamie that is an awesome dress. Wearing it would make me so frilly and feminine and for me watching the dress was far more interesting than watching you dance. The moves were all there and Jamie you dance as fine as anyone but once again there was just something missing. I think it was Hok. It’s not that you were bad at what you were doing it is just hard to picture you as a romantic dancer. Vanilla: - I don’t know what to say – speechless. Jamie you were so beautiful. I loved the way you connect together and I was enthralled by the story. I loved all of the lifts and the head positions. Funnygirl: It was okay. I don't think you two are in danger of being in the bottom two because Hoc is so darn popular. The music and the costumes made me love this piece more than the actual dancing. Hoc you surprise me week after week. I guess I didn't expect you to embrace all the dances as much as you are and I really appreciate that. Our final couple of the evening is Neil and Lauren. Neil can sound like Chewbacca and Lauren has an alter-ego that is Asian and she named her "Misha". They get to peform a Jazz ditty choreographed by Wade Robeson. Night of the Dancing Flame Roison Murphy Chairo: WOW! I don’t know what more needs said. It the two of you aren’t back here next week it won’t be because you didn’t bring down the house tonight. Watching this dance was candy for the eyes and well just WOW! Vanilla: I was trying to remember before the show started how many couples we had this week and I could only come up with 6. I was surprised when Cat said 7 because I could only remember 6. That is my problem with you guys. You do the steps and you dance well, but I don’t remember you from week to week. I really enjoyed watching you this week, but well see if I remember next week. Very entertaining. Funnygirl: This was an amazing number. The entire package, the music, costumes, choreography and dance was spot on in every way. I'm glad you guys went last because I agree with Vanilla that if you were in the middle of the pack you would be forgotten. Great job you two. Judges predictions were pretty spread out this week. The caliber of talent and popularity of some over others it could go any way. America has been bizarre in their voting thus far and the network judges have been less than fair in the eliminations up to this point. All in all it was a great evening and I thank the panel of judges again this week for their time and efforts. Disagree? Care to start a petition to get one of the judges off the panel? Sign up and let me know and maybe you could be on the judging panel next week. |

Funnygirl hurriedly redacts the curse on Chairo's computer after reading the After Dark recap in the BB thread.
Thanks, but I love it so it's easy.
