Easin' into summertime... Posts: 3,514 Group: Writer Member #109 Joined: April 25, 2005	This is going to be a mini-recap since my 10 year old decided to break her toes this morning just before work! It's a long story involving canned goods and a LOT of screaming! The show starts as we see our crew enjoying their time under Captain Azmyth's reign. The only complaint is from Laurel who said she can't take him seriously when he uses his accent. Jay, of course, being put off by Sean's turn-coat actions. Sean apologizes, but Jay tells us it's too late, Sean is dead to him. Nessa is flirting with all the guys and Joy and Laurel are sickened by the site. Joy warns that she must remember the girls out-number the boys and Nessa's tactics could come back to haunt her. ooooohhhh The teams are divided and all I can remember is Black crew: Azmyth, Jupiter & Jay are joined by JD and Cheryl Red crew: Louie, Sean, Nessa, Joy and Kendra There are more on each team, but we really haven't gotten to know them and they really have no bearing on this episode so it's no use to mention them. Sean is disgusted by being left with the weakest possible team imaginable. So the red team starts out in the lead, the black team quickly passes Louie and Kendra in their run up the beach to the sabotage point. By the time the red team crosses the sabotage for Capt. Az to pull the rope, Joy is right in the middle of the coconut avalanche and we get to see another stellar academy award winning performance by Joy. :rolleyes: The black team gets to the next site first that holds the next clue. They find the clue so cleverly hidden under a pile of rocks. The red team is fast approaching and Sean is practically dragging a lame Joy but Capt. Az starts to take off anyway. The find the hidden caves with a ladder to help them get down to it (true pirate style) and Capt. Az runs in to figure out where the treasure is buried. They hold their map up to this carefully carved place with a hold to let the sun shine in that shows them with an "X" where the treasure is buried. Capt. Az thinks he has it and tells his team to haul it back to the beginning of this hunt where they will find the treasure. The red team is heading toward the caves as they come out. As the black team reaches their boats, Capt. Az takes a quick scan around and shows JD on the map where the "X" is and figures they need to go up the beach so he and his crew head out. Meanwhile, back at the caves, the red crew is all taking a look at the map and the "X" to determine that they need to go back to the beginning where the big anchor is and dig under the anchor. The black team is about a mile away from the anchor when they realize there must be a mistake. They look to their captain because he was the only one to actually see the map marked by the sun (idiots!). Capt. Az decides it would be best for his crew to go back to the cave and they ALL take a look at the clue. The red team has made it to the anchor and is mystified that there isn't a black crew member in sight. They start to dig around the anchor. At the caves, JD has figured out that they should have never left the site of the anchor once they got there before and gives Capt. Az a disgusted look. Capt. Az tries to keep morale up by dropping his accent and adopting a Richard Simmons character to tell them they will all run back to the anchor. With groans the black crew head back. We see them approaching the anchor where the red crew has made quite a bit of progress. As they arrive, JD tells them they will be digging up by the top of the anchor (mostly, it's because there are red crew members everywhere else). It appears that the black crew may have found the treasure, but oh-oh, false alarm. All of a sudden Nessa, from the red crew has actually found the small treasure chest and the island explodes from excitement!! What's In the Chest They arrive back where Cameron tells them to open the chest and count their money. They start to dig out a lot of little coins. They soon realize there is a hidden compartment at the bottom that contains a note. Cameron takes the note and declares it is for later. They finish counting and realize their haul is only $5,000. Cameron tells them they must declare a new captain. After a moment of mulling, they come back with a unanimous vote for Louie. Louie appoints Nessa (mostly because he got to grab her arse on the hunt) and Sean as his officers. Cameron starts to divide the pultry amounts, but ya just know Louie is going to divide it evenly amongst his crew because it's only $5,000. Cameron then tells them the note is actually a "Pardon". Good to save your arse if you are ever black-spotted and voted out! The crew can bid by private ballot on the Pardon and the $$ goes to the captain. Louie and his officers head to their quarters where they first talk of dividing the money evenly amongst the crew :rolleyes: and then discuss how Louie is going to get rid of either JD or Cheryl. He's got a grudge he needs to take care of first. Somehow they figure that JD will use his entire $30,000 fortune to buy the Pardon. On second thought, Louie tells them it's JD's money so he probably won't go for it. On deck Jay and JD are having a spat that I'm sure started way before we saw because the context of the dialogue didn't really make sense. The gist of it was that JD told Jay that if he couldn't keep him from a black spot again, their deal is OFF. A very POd Jay goes below decks and announces to everyone that he had an agreement with JD, but no more. The Dreaded Black Spots It is of no surprise that they decided to give black spots to JD and Cheryl. The surprise was Louie's announcement to his officers that the third should go to Azmyth because every officer should have to stand and account for his actions as captain. :shifty Azmyth looks hurt, but he assures us that he's 99.9% safe with this crew. JD and Cheryl, on the other hand, are not so sure. Pre-court talk is of a mixed crew. Some don't understand why Cheryl is up again and some don't understand the grudge between JD and Louie. Pirate Court The long and the short of it is that Louie defends his choices like a 10 year old boy, Azmyth only confused his crew more by his explanation of screwing up the hunt and Cheryl digs her grave deeper while trying her district attorney best to be humble in front of her peers. JD does something really unexpected and tells Louie he doesn't understand the hatred and spite for him. He tells him he has nothing but love for him "man". boys The ballots are cast, but we still don't know who won the bidding on the pardon. Cameron tries to make it suspensful, but all I kept thinking was "COME ON!" JD won the pardon bid with $7,000 paid to Louis (who will keep every penny for himself), but he didn't need it. The votes were 4-3 in favor of Cheryl. Once Capt. Louie cuts her adrift she tells us she didn't even bid on the pardon because if they didn't want her there she wasn't going to beg or something lame and bitter as such! Tune in next week when the wheels start to fall off the friendship bus!
