Will there be a mutiny this week? Will Dfleming be right and a challenge will be foiled just to get JD out of the Captain's chair? Let's all grab a pint and see what happens. The Aftermath Shortly after Christian is set adrift we see Louie on the deck whining to Kendra about Christian's demise. He tells her they are really gonna be sorry if they let a truly good pirate go. Meanwhile, Cheryl is below-decks waxing poetically (in a way that only those in a winning position can do) with JD and Ben that the crew is forgetting the idea that this is a game. They are all taking it personally and something has got to be done about Louie because it's obvious he's gunning for Joe Don. Now we see Louie doing the hard-sell to Sean. Sean seems to be agreeing with Louie that JD has taken his job as Captain a little too far. Louie again reminds us that JD will be cut loose and he wants to be the one to do it. The Next Day We see Jay waking everyone and telling them they need to get on deck so they can get sailing towards the days next treasure hunt. We also get to witness Jay and JD talking about how Jay is basically backstabbing everyone and he hopes they do not know that he's playing them. He also tells JD that he doesn't want JD's officers to know what their plan is either. Jay tells us that he'll be JD's #1 man as long as it's lucrative to him. The rest of the crew is on-deck having Jupiter put make-up on them. We finally get to meet Jupiter. In fact, she seems to get all the airtime that Christian got last week. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a factor in who gets eliminated this week. The person, who is not the captain, that gets some airtime is carefully considered by the rest of the cast for elimination. They don't want too much airtime as to stand out, but just enough so that their SAG credits merit them insurance. ![]() Ooh, now we get to meet Laurel. She takes her 10 seconds of airtime to tell us she's spent the last year and a half in a van. :shifty I bet she doesn't wear deodorant either. (EWW!) Alexis is next on our screen with this week's bitch. This week we are whining about how tired and sore she is. She didn't realize that there would be SO much work to do on a pirate ship. Awww.... Then, from out of nowhere, our host appears. Do you suppose he's kept in a chest of his own below decks? He seems to pop up rather spontaneously and is full of smiles and energy like he's happy not to be closed up in a box any longer. Cam calls everyone up on deck. He hands the keys over to Jay to open the next lock on The Chest of Zanzibar. It's a magic lock because he turned the key in the front and it opened on the side. Oooh! The crew is very impressed by this...especially Louie. ![]() Two scrolls and a letter from Captain Henry Steel are what is in the compartment. The letter reads that the next treasure was buried by the quarter-master who was ruthless and wrote in secret code in blood. The blood was rarely his own. So we know that the black team will include the Capt. and his two officers, but here's how the marble pickin' went. Black Crew: JD, Cheryl, Ben, Sean, Joy, Alexis & Laurel. Red Crew: Louie, Kendra, Jupiter, Krysta, Nessa, Azmyth and Jay Of course Louie is happy and tells us that he's goin' after JD and he wants to write a letter to JD's mama in JD's blood or something. It sounded just as stupid when he said it. DVM tells us... The crews must paddle to shore, follow shore up a treacherous path where they see the sword and a skull. This is the sabotage point. The red team takes a slight lead over the black getting to shore. Black is held up at the sandbar where they need to get out of the boat, pull it over the sandbar and then get back in to paddle the rest of the way there. The red team doesn't have a problem with this, but then again, the red team doesn't have Alexis. For some reason, she gets out of the boat and starts walking along the sandbar and is telling her team to go ahead. JD starts screaming at her to get back to the boat. She heads toward the boat dragging her feet like a toddler going to the dentist. They make it to shore not too far behind the red team and manage to catch up at the sabotage point. The sabotage is a bunch of bamboo leaned in tent fashion that is held up by one lone bamboo pole. Kendra is lagging for the red team and JD is pushing Alexis up the steep hill for the black team. Azmyth cuts the rope for the red team, but Sean is at the midway point of the bamboo tent and is holding up the main support when the line is cut and everybody makes it through without losing too much time. This edge, however, is just what the red team needed. They find the skull and knife and see the bloodied code and start looking in the water for the skull that contains the key that opens the treasure. In no time at all the black crew is there and it's a race to see which crew can find the skull first. Louie manages to figure out the code and comes up with the skull and the red team heads out. They head up the embankment and down a trail toward a waterfall where the treasure chest is hidden behind. Nessa finds the waterfall, spots the treasure chest but can't get past the force of the waterfall. This does not prove to be a challenge for Louie and Azmyth and BANG the gun goes off that the red crew has found the treasure. as we go to break, we get a shot of a very nervous JD and Cheryl. This is Where Things Get "Interesting" The black crew arrives back at the ship first since they don't have to carry back that big treasure chest. When JD gets on board, Cam tells him and his officers to go below deck, clean out their cabin and vacate the premises immediately. They head down and start packing. The others try and make them feel welcome, but the snickers behind their backs are so obvious. The red crew makes it back to the boat and Cam tells them to dump out the treasure and start counting. When all is said and done they have $35,000. Now Cam tells them they have to get down to decidin' who their next Cap'n is gonna be. Without hesitation Louie tells him we already know and says Azmyth because he's a rock and roll pirate (at this point I think Louie's a big ole DORK!). The crew unanimously decides and so it is. Azmyth in a surprising turn of events chooses Jupiter as his first officer (surprising because WE just met her this morning and I thought she was just the make-up wench) and his second choice is Jay. I thought for sure he would say Louie, but Jay buzzes in peoples ears where Louie yells and whines and apparently Azmyth prefers the quieter pirate. Then in a very humble moment JD, who appears to be holding back tears brings up the captain’s hat and jacket and heads back down below. With all the pirate politics taken care of Cam-o tells them to start dividing the money with Azmyth getting 50%, etc. Now we get to witness something very peculiar in deed. Once Cap’n Az, Jupiter and Jay lock themselves in the captain’s quarters, Azmyth addresses his officers. However, all of a sudden he’s got a British accent. Jay has a perplexed look on his face and Jupiter is doing everything she can not to burst out laughing. I have no idea what he was saying because I, too, couldn’t control myself. Jay tells us that we’re not hearing things that he’s actually adopted an accent. The gist of what he was saying was they were going to split up the $35K evenly amongst those on the red crew. They divide the money up and call each member not an officer or a Cap’n in and tell them the good news and give them their share. The look on the faces of his crew as he tells them individually of their decision is priceless because they are clearly trying to figure out what happened to his voice. Once the money is dispersed Jay asks Az if he’s got to adopt an accent too. Az gives him a strange look and then smiles. He’s truly an odd duck that Cap’n.Louie summed it up best. There’s something in that hat and coat because once a person puts them on it’s like they go nuts or something. ![]() The next order of business is handing out the black spots for the evening’s pirate’s court. They discuss a strategy and Cap’n Az feels that the weaker ones need a little kick in the arse to let them know they are not pulling their weight so a he will use his black spots as a warning. However, he would like to save one for JoeDon (he says JoeDon with a very cool French accent). Jay, however, has made a promise to the prior captain to have his back when he can. He starts to steer the decision more toward Cheryl because he doesn’t like the way she looks down her nose at everybody. They seem to consider Jay’s argument and soon the black spots are all decided and it’s mail time for the crew. The recipients of tonight’s Black Spot Nominations are: Alexis, Laurel (who?) and Cheryl. What? No JoeDon? JD tells us he was nervous but realized once he saw he didn’t have the black spot that Jay was working for him on the inside still. Cheryl on the other hand is perplexed. In a video diary, we are again reminded that she’s a District Attorney so she will work that pirate court like she would a courtroom with a great view or something stupid. Alexis tells us she knew she would be up because most people just don’t get her personality. She tries to play it off like she doesn’t care, but you can tell she does. Laurel is truly confused. She really has no idea why the Cap’n would nominate her for elimination, but she can’t wait to get down to the bottom of it. Louie is back at work trying to sway votes his way and Jay is trying to help him. He’s got a few of the girls and he just needs one more vote. He and Jay do the hard sell to Sean that Cheryl is the one that needs to go. Louie’s reasons is “since I can’t get the head, I’ll go for the tail” or something like that. The man is a complete and utter dork I tell ya. Sean is on the fence. He respects Cheryl as a hard-core player and thinks Alexis is dead-weight. Jay decides he wants Cheryl gone so badly he’s willing to part with $1,000 of his own coin. He gives this to Sean as a promise to vote for Cheryl. Sean takes it, but doesn’t seem too happy about it. Pirates’ Court As everybody takes their places, Cam asks Cap’n Az to tell these three pirates why they were chosen for black spot. Cap’n Az starts to speak, but Cam-o stops him and asks “is that an accent I hear?” Az nods and tells him it came with the coat and the hat. Louie yells from the peanut gallery that he likes the accent. Cam-o is a little miffed because he was supposed to be the Only one on the pirate ship with an accent. It’s the only way that got him to spend his down time locked in a trunk below decks. Uh, where was I? Oh yeah…Az tells Alexis it’s because she hasn’t been as happy as she was the first few days and he wants a happy crew. He tells Laurel that she’s not pulling her weight and needs to kick it up a notch. He finishes with Alexis and gives her the old “you’re not a team player” speech and bags on her for not getting to know the crew. Rebuttals are as follows: Alexis: You all know me. I don’t sugar coat, blah, blah, blah. Laurel: In her best simpering voice, “if you need me to work harder I will.” *puke* Cheryl: Decides to take a seat on one of the nearby crates to have a fireside chat with her fellow pirates. She apologizes for appearing to be snobbish, but says since she was made an officer early on she was only following her captain’s orders and he clearly told her not under any circumstances to try and get to know anybody outside of him and Ben. As far as looking down her nose at them she explained that Cap’n Azmyth himself as well as Jay and Jupiter can be considered snobs as well since they are, in fact, looking down their noses at her. When you are standing where the captain stands you are clearly above all others so you are going to look down your nose, since it is in your field of vision, at those below you. Okay, I made the last bit up, but it was better than the argument that she made. It made complete sense, but she said it with such disdain and self-righteousness it was ridiculous. Now this portion of pirates court should be over, but Cam-o decides there must be more to all of this. He asks Jay what his thoughts were and Jay responded very nastily about Cheryl and admitted that he was the one that threw her name in the ring. JD raises his hand because he can’t quite get over the fact that he’s not captain anymore and has to have the final say in this pirate’s court and tries to take the heat off of Cheryl by saying she was only doing what he asked her to do and didn’t give either of his officers a chance to get to know the rest of the crew. Oh jeeze, let’s vote already!! There are no mutiny votes (duh), and Laurel is safe. So basically what we’re going to find out is if Jay got his monies worth by buying the swing-vote from Sean. No, he did not. It’s a tie! The tie goes to the Cap’n for determination. Cap’n Az actually looks like he’s thinking pretty hard, but my 9 year old (she’s only 9 until Monday) called it. He chooses Alexis. He was thinking of the crews as they go out on the hunts or something. What he really wanted to say was “there’s no way I’m getting rid of Cheryl since Jay just openly admitted he manipulated me into the nomination!”. Whatever! He cuts her loose and she whines about being misunderstood or something. I’m glad she’s gone and I think the rest of the ship is. Oh, except Louie and Jay. I don’t think they are getting that they can’t run the ship without the captain’s hat.

Loved the recap. Little nuances I forgot, you highlighted very well. I also like your reasoning for the Capt realizing Jay and manipulated him for cutting Alexis out. I think maybe current capt is a little wiser than former capt |
