I think the first and the last did it for me. The last was the best in my humble opinon. I also liked the musical one as well. The gal that did "peeing on the bus" last week and the Finklestein's this week needs to go. She's SO not ready! |

Sorry to say but the women didn't get it for me. I didn't like Hilary's production at all. It just seems like she is trying to be a 'shock jock' and it isn't necessary. Her 'movie' was offensive and had no saving grace at all. Shalini's bio pic of an Indian gay comedian was too ethnic for me. It had little appeal to anyone who doesn't know what life is like in India. I just don't need to see one more show about one more minority who has to fight their way to acceptance. I was totally bored with this presentation. My favorite of the night was the Dough the Musical. Adam did a great job of telling a story, making it interesting, and captivating my attention. It was also a situation I could relate to ... me talking and man only hearing what he wants. Trever and Sam also did great jobs. I can relate to the blind date fears and losing something valuable down the drain ... can't tell you how many times I had to take pipes apart to retrieve a lost contact ... My ranking for the night would be in this order: Adam, Trever, Sam, Shalini and Hillary. {For the record I would call Trever and Sam a tie for second and Shalini and Hillary a tie for last -- I do hope Hillary is the one booted though} |

OK I didn't HATE the last film but I didn't think it was a "comedy" either. It seemed more documentary to me and was kind of on the serious/poignant side. If people were going to knock the guy who did a trailer last week instead of a 1 minute film, then they should knock her for making the film something other than what they asked it to be. It obviously didn't bother any of the judges so... what do I know? I actually kind of liked the Blind Date one although it is a concept we've seen countless times but as they say, there is nothing new under the sun, so what are you gonna do? Dough: the musical could have been better. I agree with Michael Bey on that one. By the way, isn't he the guy who made that awful "Pearl Harbor?" Who is he to judge anyone on what is good!

Too funny johnnysbandit. I didnt' realize they had to be comedies. THat being said, I still found the humor in the biopic that everyone is dogging. |

I spent a lot of time FFing through the hostess who couldn't talk last night so I thought maybe I missed something. Oh yeah, they ought to tell the guy with the "Getta Room" t-shirt to "Getta Clue"! |

That t-shirt was pretty lame. I only caught the last three, and what I saw wasn't great. Hilary's was pretty bad, though I agree that the writing had some really good moments. She should forget directing and look into writing instead. Shalini's premise was ok, but she just didn't make it work onscreen, I thought. She takes some pretty interesting camera shots, but I don't think she really delivered storywise. Perhaps because the story didn't feel fully fleshed out, (what was it really like for him in India as a gay man, etc), that it didn't seem to say much of anything. There was quite a few camera shots, pretty as they were, that had me wondering why they were in the film at all. Those empty shots could have been replaced with real material. Perhaps she should consider a career in cinematography... "Dough" was "D'oh!" for me. Actors were pretty good, singing was pretty good, camera shots were pretty good, and the writing was ok. But I HATE musicals, and musicals about bakers without enough laughs are extremely painful to me. Maybe that's not fair, but oh well. Off to watch the other two. |

OK, I guess I missed that it wasn't required to be a comedy. I'm totally ok with it then. I thought the hostess said something about "comedy film" during the night and thought that was the theme. By the way, I was wondering if the host could actually get through 1 single segment without flubbing her lines--nope.

She doesn't seem to handle speaking on the fly well... Maybe Carrie Fisher would be better at interviewing the contestants than as a judge. |

Possibly, or else they could have a three year-old host... she might mess up her lines, but at least she'd be cute while doing it. |

Gee, maybe Pearl from the Will Ferrell short film "The Landlord" is available. At least she made me laugh!
