Welcome to our very first box office results show! Again, I will be your host this evening, as we review the events of this evening's excruciatingly long results show, where we find out which three filmmakers did not make the cut, according to your votes. To start out the show, we are again welcomed by Adrianna, and again, I can't hear her over the applause. I'm sure she said something about three people going home tonight though. Once the applause die down, she introduces us to the judges Carrie Fishy (yes, she called her Carrie Fishy, and Carrie looked none too impressed), DJ Caruso, and Garry Marshall. We get to see some clips from the On The Lot house after last night's show, and we find that Zach is really pumped about the reaction to his movie, that Kenny and Hillary are both upset about the negative feedback their films received, and Phil is upset with Jason's film, as he has a brother who is mentally challenged. Adrianna now interviews a few people from the final eighteen, starting with Jason. He wants to tell everyone that he did not mean to make the nerd in his film seem mentally challenged, and that he is confident that most of America loved the movie, and didn't see what the judges saw in the movie. Kenny feels that America was entertained by his The contestants are in three rows of six, and in each row one contestant will be out, one has one of the top three movies in the box office, and four are safe. We start with the back row, and we find out that Sam, Shira-Lee, and Trever are safe. Zach is not only safe, but he is also in the top three at the box office, and we get to see his film "Danger Zone" again. Carrie tells him that he wants him to marry her daughter. This leaves Carolina and Marty, one of whom will go home. Carolina's movie was on giving birth, while Marty broke the rules and did a trailer. I can't wait to see Marty leave... but wait... Adrianna says he's safe... Carolina is out. Refer to the title of this recap for my reaction. In the second row, we learn that Adam, David, and Hillary are safe, while Will wins in the box office with his film "Lucky Penny". DJ tells him that he deserves it. This leaves us with Kenny and Claudia, one of whom will be leaving us. Again, I'm excited to see Kenny "Never been to film school" Luby walk out that door... and again I'm disappointed. Claudia is out... again, refer to the title of this recap. Finally, in the front row, we learn that Andrew, Shalini, and Mateen are all safe, leaving Jason, Phil and Jessica. One of them came in the top three at the box office, while another is out. We learn that while the judges were offended by Jason's film, America loved it, as it made the top three, and we get to view "Getta Rhoom" one more time. This time Carrie says she loved it this time, and that she didn't know what she was thinking. Finally, down to Jessica and Phil, I figure that Jessica's lightbulb film is what will be her demise. It turns out I was wrong yet again, and Phil will be leaving. Garry leaves the show with parting advice to the final fifteen, that they are only as good as their last film, so next week they need to be back on top of their game. And there you have it, we survived our first Box Office Results show from On The Lot! Join me next Monday to view fifteen more films from thirteen wonderful filmmakers as well as Kenny and Marty! What do you think of the results? Sign up and let us know! |
