Anyone besides me think this season is a train wreck? I can't believe of all the people who supposedly "audition" for the show and this is the best they come up with? Sanjaya doesn't even belong in the same building, let alone on the show. The history and study of music genre is extremely important in my book, and any non-descript, unsigned, alleged "singer" off the street who takes a Motown number and attempts to rearrange it should be immediately booted for disrespect, having no clue and embarassing the music geniuses of our past. At least a couple kids knew there was a Diana Ross catalog prior to 1980. What we's all like to see: Ted Nugent as the guest artist. The most complete "packages" (personality, poise, presence, vocal ability) on the show: Jordin Sparks & Melinda Doolittle. I just returned from a week in Aruba Monday evening and I got thru the entire show and boot-off show in less than 60 minutes with the help of DVR and fast-forward. I could have spent that time going thru a week's worth of junk mail to find something just as interesting. |

Yes, I agree it is quite a train wreck this season. This should be the end of idol in the US imo. I think they've worn out the talent. They should try it again in 6 or 7 years so they have a fresh talent pool to draw from. |
