This week the show starts out with both the red team and blue team arriving at the 24/7 fitness club to find it locked. Anyone else see the irony here? Blue team proceeds to break in through a window when the trainers arrive and tell them that this week, they will have to use other means to work out. Bob leads the blue team in various exercises throughout the week including running outside, rolls and lunges on the field, and moving furniture in and out of the house!!! Red team does the same thing except instead of moving furniture, they all gather on the steps of the house and do squats. The free "non-commercial" this week is for Il Pollo something or other, a restaurant that must be popular on the west coast, but here back east, I never heard of it. Both teams go there for lunch and they have to order off the menu. Challenge day! Both teams gather at a Stadium for ....."The dumbest challenge I have ever seen!!!!" Before they are told about the challenge, some contestants are shown home videos of their families back home. I cry. I'm a sap. I admit it.I am sure all the contestants are shown home movies, but we only see the tear jerkers with kids The contest is this: Each team goes up to the bleachers and has to "wave" 512 times. Since Caroline doesn't elaborate, I'll decribe it here: stand up, sit down, move over a seat. stand up, sit down, move over a seat. Get it? At first red team is dominating because Erik on BLue is slow. All I heard was Bob yelling at Erik. Then, Ken on Red complains of his back and after Pam yells at him non-freakin-stop, he gives up. The red team sits there until they decide not to quit, only Ken, and they finish the challenge, but they don't win. The winning team gets $2500 in new Starter clothes. Whoop dee doo Later on that night, the second product is peddled, TBL diet cookbook. Guest chef arrives at the home to cook 2 menu items from the book and show them that they can still eat like a normal person, just by making the right choices. Blue team picks pizza and red team picks burgers. Last chance workout, but can't use the gym. More improvisational working out around the house. A lot of this week was shown about Erik. He admits that something is holding him back and he isn't sure what. Bob works a lot with him one on one. He has lost 50 something pounds, but he still weighs 350 so he has a long way to go. I also want to note that the contestants have been away for their families for 2 months now, but it is only week 5 for us. I guess one week for publicity shots, etc before arriving at the ranch, but where did the other 2 weeks go? Weigh in: Both teams are equal, so no one sits out. Red team goes first. Again, like a dummy, I didn't take notes. I am going by memory. I promise to go home tonight and write down the acutal loss per person and update tomorrow Kai: lost 5 pounds Pam: lost 3 pounds Ken: lost 6 Wiley: lost 9 Heather: lost 3 Blue: Amy lost 4 Marty lost 6? Bobby lost 4 Brian lost 6? Erik lost 7 To win, Blue had to lose 30 pounds and they only lost 27. Red team wins the weigh in for 2 weeks in a row! After the weigh in, Amy has a talk with Bobby about Erik. Bobby wants to vote out Marty because he has picked Marty to win and he doesn't want the competition. Amy still is in BLUE TEAM mode and wants what is best for the TEAM, not herself, and that would be to vote out Erik. Erik is the biggest, but isn't pulling in the big numbers like he should. Erik also admits that, but not in this particular conversation. This is a private conversation. Blue decides to talk it out and both Marty and Erik cry telling everyone that they aren't ready to leave and plead their cases. Elimination: Brian is again, the biggest loser on his team, so he is immune. Marty votes for Erik Amy votes for Erik Erik votes for Amy Bobby votes for Amy and to break the tie, Brian votes out Amy. Amy is blindsighted and gave all the men a piece of her mind. She has lost 41 pounds, more than any other woman and she feels that she is more dedicated than Erik. Squishy agrees She wishes them luck, but also tells them that they made the wrong decision. She didn't cry, was very well spoken in the face of shock and I really like her. I really liked Melinda, too, but I can relate to Amy. After the show, Amy has lost a total of 88 pounds!!! She wears a size 10 dress and loves to work out and is a self proclaimed fitness junkie. She looks hot and I am so proud of her. And yes, Blue team should have kept her. She is only 12 pounds away from her goal of 100 pound loss! |
