Last time on Treasure Hunters, our teams crossed the Atlantic (in a magic time machine). In a race not to be eliminated the Air Force found themselves in last place for the first time. However, the Fogals weren't so lucky and were sent home last week. Only five teams remain and tonight they will be searching for the sixth of seven artifacts. The sixth artifact will lead teams to messages protected by a secret society. Sounds like fun. Ex-CIA, Southies, and Miss USA are standing around toasting each other at Eastwell Manor, in Kent, England. The Geniuses arrive and now the four teams are wondering who's going to arrive next. Will it be those dang Fogals or the robotic Air Force? The Southies actually want to see the Fogals. Charles of team Genius says,"Once again, Air Force has survived," as the team comes down the steps to join the others. (Fake hugs all around.) Host Laird calls the teams and directs them to Peille, France. Teams will be searching for a secret society that bound American forefathers together. The hunt begins were the Via Ferrata (rock face/mountain) ends. Messages hidden in plain site in art and nature will show the way. Teams must fly to Nice, France and then drive to Peille. Air Force "zooms" past Miss USA and the Southies (who just can't believe that they've been passed.) Ex-CIA gets lost because of navigation problems and it puts them in the back of the pack. Once the teams arrive in Peille, they are given the option of a tough and very high climb to a cave to get the next clue or they can drive 150 miles to Saint Tropez to find the statue of Pierre Andre de Suffren and get the clue. What the teams are told is that the ideals of the secret society were based in the natural world. They used an inverted rose as symbol of hidden treasure. The first team to find the rose will win $50,000. (Better get climbin' or drivin'.)Melissa from Miss USA hurt her arm during the last part of the hunt while digging. She can barely lift her bag. (Too much make-up in there...Seriously, the girls are wearing make-up through the whole hunt.) They are going to Saint Tropez to look for the statue of "Alexander Somethingorother." (They don't even have the correct name... I hope the camera guys will help the ladies out with this one or they could be stuck sunning themselves on the beaches of Saint Tropez, but I digress.) Back at the Peille Gorge, the Geniuses are trying to decide which route to take. Sam explains that he can't even sleep on the top bunk of bunk beds, plus he has ashtma. Remember, the higher you go the thinner the air. (Go for the road trip guys!!) Charles insist that they will climb. Teams will first cross a suspension bridge 400 ft. in the air. The second challenge is to rock climb at 800ft. Team Air Force is currently in first and Matt R. is impress with his wife's abilities. The next suspension bridge takes teams to 1200ft. The Southies are in a solid second place. In third, Sam from team Geniuses is terrified starts to hyperventilate. (Did his teammates not think climbing would be a problem?) Finally, Ex-CIA arrives and tries to close the gap. At 2100ft., team Air Force reaches the top of the gorge and enters a cave to find their next clue. Teams get a ring of keys and a picture of a castle on parchment. The ring of keys will help lead them to the mystery of the secret society. Team Air Force notices the castle in the distance and take off in a dead run. In Saint Tropez Miss USA has found their statue of "What'shisname." Their clue is the ring of keys and the picture of the castle. They will now have to return to the village of Peille. They are happy they chose this route and feel they may be ahead of the others. Back on the rock face, Sam (Genius) is struggling will Ex-CIA are moving in. Sam starts to freak out and clings to the footbars on the moutain. Charles (Genius) complains that all he and Frances can hear is heavy breathing. Frances tries to encourage Sam, asking him what do you want most in life. This gives Sam the extra something he needed to get moving and the Geniuses make it to the top. Sam then proclaims what a great friend Frances is to him. (Hmmm, looks like Charles has been left out in the cold.)Over at the castle, Air Force arrives first and Matt R. starts looking at all the loose rocks in the side of the wall. (Hey, what about that big ring of keys?) Matt moves some of the rocks and finds their next clue: An ancient roman ruin crumbles on a hillside on La Turbie. With that, team Air Force is off in a huge first place lead. The Southies have arrived at the castle and they start using their keys on a rusted gate. They are trying to hurry so the other teams can't catch up. Shortly after, here come the Geniuses and Ex-CIA teams. Miss USA is 25 miles outside of Peille as the three "male" teams are still seaching. The Southies are extremely disappointed that the others have caught up. The guys all start wondering away from the castle. They are two miles away from it when Miss USA arrives. They wonder around talking about being hungry. (Girls... do not try to pull a Wild Hanlon and go for pizza.) Melissa notices the loose rocks and bam! the girls are in second place. The Southies, Geniuses and Ex-CIA teams have now been wondering in the woods for over two hours. They decide to go back to the castle and give it another try. They finally find the loose rocks and grab their clue. Ex-CIA guys are blaming the Southies and Geniuses for their long hike and are getting tired of group decisions. (I guess they can't make a decision on their own.) Team Air Force arrives at the ruins and has to think about their clue for a moment. Breaking it down, they search the hillside and find the inverted rose. This leads them to a trail through the woods and to the $50,000 prize. Oh, they also get an old map and a call from Laird. It's time for the teams to fly back to Paris. It's up to them to find their destination. (By the way, there's a big "X" on the map) Miss USA arrives at the ruins next. With ponytails swinging, the gals do a little wondering around and there's the rose. They find their clue, but no tresure and it's off to Paris. With the magic of editing arrival seems quick for the three teams joined at the hip, Ex-CIA, Southies, and Geniuses. When we come back from commerical, we "see" the clue "Wipe out the Colour." Team Air Force has taken the magic time machine and are now in Paris. Still in the lead, the team goes to the Eiffel Tower. Host Laird calls, so they must be at the right place. He tells them to go to the second floor and look west. All will be revealed in an American symbol of freedom. On the second floor of the Eiffel Tower they spot Lady Liberty and quickly make their way there. At the statue they read a plaque that goes something like this: Hidden beneath the streets of Paris. Clean the streets to find the path. Helpfully off to the side are buckets and the river Seine. They wonder around, "are we really supposed to wash the streets?" Leave it to the brains of team Air Force Brooke to realize they must wash the map. As they pour and wipe, team Air Force uncovers the clue that will lead them to the Rosicrucian Order headquaters. Team Air Force gets in the supplied car and heads to Normandy, France. Miss USA, in second place, has arrived and figured out that they need to get the Eiffel Tower. It's starting to get dark as they get to the second level. As they look west, they complain all they can see are lights and not a symbol of American freedom. They spend a few minutes up top and decide that they aren't finding anything. At this point we see the three hip joined teams: Ex-CIA, Southies, and Geniuses on the Paris metro headed to the Eiffel Tower. The Southies notice that the map feels funny and decide to put a little water on it. (Ok, everyone is getting tired and some camera guy feed them inside info.) Frances from team Geniuses is in the back giving the eye roll. (The Southies are doing pretty good with the clue solving, oh yeah, except for the two hour hike). They have their next clue about the secret society, but they don't have a clue as to where it's located. They are going to have to go on to the Eiffel Tower. Miss USA is still there and are looking around at post cards. They notice the mini Lady Liberty in front of the Tower on said post cards and realize, "That must be it." They find their handy buckets and give the head a scratch.Normandy, France: Team Air Force is the first to arrive at the Cheateau D'Omonville which is the headquaters for the Rosicrucian Order. This is the site of the sixth artifact. Teams must hurry because with four artifacts and five teams left, somebody is going home. Team Air Force seach the house and come to a room filled with boxes. Good thing they kept that ring of keys. After locating the right box and correct key, the team retrieves their sixth artifact, a cryptex. Back in Paris, Miss USA is actually cleaning the streets of Paris. (I need these gals to come over and help me out with some house cleaning.) As the ladies are looking for different areas to clean, teams Southies, Ex-CIA and Geniuses arrive at the Eiffel Tower and get a call from Laird. They are told of the awaiting cars and leave for Normandy. Miss USA is still scrubbing. This puts the gals in last place as the other three move on. The Southies follow Ex-CIA (bad move) and get lost. This puts the Geniuses in second place. As they arrive at the Chateau and enter, they start trying to memorize the pictures of the American presidents on the wall. The find the room with the boxes and with the magic of editing find their artifact. Back in Paris, Miss USA finally figures out they need to wash the map. Ex-CIA arrive third and the Southies fourth and find the cryptex in that order. Miss USA gets a call from host Laird telling that they are eliminated from the hunt. The girls are crying, they've come so far. Miss USA has no regrets (and they really shouldn't). "I didn't want to be eliminated in this outfit." (Ok, maybe one regret.):P Next week it's down to the final four and the're out on a ledge. Join us back next week to see tempers flare. The season is almost over.
