Last week, Ray and Yolanda came in first while Monica and Joseph just barely beat out the hippies to come in third. Luckily for BJ and Tyler, it was the second non-elimination leg. Once again, they started out with only the clothes on their back. Sadly, BJ had no pants or shoes on when he checked in.

This week, teams start out in the Australian Outback but travel to Bangkok, Thailand. Yolanda is nice enough to give BJ a pair of pants while Erik and Jeremy leave a pair of sandals. MoJo, however, passes on lending a helping hand. BJ and Tyler go to beg for some money while the rest of the teams booked tickets for a flight arriving in Bangkok at 11:00 PM. When the hippies arrived back at the airport, however, the flight was booked. In an extremely lucky turn of events, two seats opened up on a flight scheduled to arrive 15 minutes before the rest of the teams. The original flight arrived early, so BJ and Tyler didn’t actually arrive faster, but they weren’t far behind.

The teams arrive at a bus station where Ray and Yolanda and Eric and Jeremy board a bus leaving at midnight that Monica and Joseph manage to miss. MoJo goes off to sleep as do the hippies until the next morning when the bus station opens again. MoJo is either at a different bus station or completely clueless, because BJ and Tyler get on a bus at 4:20 but MoJo doesn’t get on their way until 5:20.

In Lopburi, the next destination, teams have to wait until 8:00 AM to enter a pagoda surrounded by what seems to be a monkey zoo. When the gates enter, MoJo still hasn’t arrived. Teams get their clue to learn that this leg has a fast forward, which involves snacking on grasshoppers and crickets – a detail that is naturally left out of the clue. BJ and Tyler and Ray and Yolanda head for the fast forward while the frat boys move on to the Road Block, which requires them to prepare a feast for the monkeys just as the locals do during festivals.

At the Fast Forward, BJ and Tyler and Ray and Yolanda commence eating, knowing that the first team to finish will win. After her first bite, Yolanda decides that the task just isn’t going to happen for her and RaYo heads back to the Road Block. When they get there, MoJo has arrived to find that they’re behind rather than being in first place as they had thought. Just after Joseph starts on his monkey feast, Ray and Yolanda arrive, disappointing everyone else with the knowledge that the hippies would be getting the Fast Forward. Ray, however, is confidant that the hippies will take at least three hours to finish their crickets.

The Road Block becomes more and more entertaining as the monkeys catch on to what the teams are doing. Quickly, the monkeys begin stealing food from the tables that team members are then required to replace. As Eric and Jeremy finish, we see that the hippies are starting to struggle with eating now cold fried crickets. Joseph finishes the Road Block after replacing what monkeys had filched from him and Team MoJo is on their way just before Ray and Yolanda finish. Back at the Fast Forward, BJ is throwing up and the hippies realize that they’ve made a mistake in choosing to try and complete the task. They debate going back to the Road Block, but BJ finishes his up like a champ.

Eric and Jeremy arrive at the next destination, a Buddha garden and search the grounds for their next clue, a Detour. The choices are Move It or Altar It. In Move It, teams must transport 72 clay pots with a wooden board balanced on their shoulders. In Altar It, teams must make a shrine to Buddha, including assembling the pieces and putting gold leafing on the Buddha. Eric and Jeremy choose Altar It, noting that the physical task was a mistake last time. Monica and Joseph continue to self-destruct while Ray and Yolanda find their clue and choose Altar It. Finally, MoJo arrive and decide to do Altar It as well. Finally, back at the Fast Forward, Tyler finishes his crickets and the hippies head for the Pit Stop.

The other three teams arrive at the Detour, where Monica and Joseph see the other two teams working and decide to change their minds to Move It. Monica immediately starts talking about how hard it is, Joseph immediately breaks a couple of pots, and the next meltdown begins. In the meantime, BJ and Tyler arrive at the Pit Stop first, securing their place in the final three. They don’t’ win an additional prize because for this leg the prize winner will be determined by the contents of an envelope teams picked up with one of their clues and took to the Pit Stop.

At the Detour, Monica and Joseph deliver their first load of pots while the other two teams are gold leafing their Buddhas. Eric and Jeremy explain their decision to do the Altar It task by saying that they love to gold leaf, hold gold leafing parties, and pick up chics with their gold leafing abilities. There may have been some amount of truth to what they said because they managed to beat out Ray and Yolanda at the task. Ray and Yolanda finish quickly, though, faring much better than MoJo. Monica is continuing to lose her marbles and her pots, which drop to the ground until she’s only carrying two on her board. Joseph makes a valiant effort to cheer her up and keep her focused.

On their way to the Pit Stop, Eric and Jeremy struggle to find a taxi while Ray and Yolanda leave the Detour and catch up and Monica and Joseph finish their Detour. Okay, actually Joseph finished the Detour, but Monica did a great job of walking next to him without crying on their last trip.

The race to the Pit Stop continues with Eric and Jeremy coming in second place. In the race for third, Ray and Yolanda arrive first, but Yolanda is told that she must cover her arms. Someone gives her a shirt, but the process doesn’t slow them down too much. Not only does RaYo come in third place, they are also carrying the “golden gnome” which means that they win a trip for two AND a luxurious hotel room for the night – hopefully an advantage as they go into the finals.

Finally, Monica and Joseph arrive to learn that they’ve been eliminated and Monica gives her teary goodbye. Suddenly, the two of them have a perfect relationship and are more in love then I’ve seen them all season.

Next week: the finals! Who will take the million? As BJ says, it’s on like donkey kong!
