For Weaver Family Only? (Literally)

After watching the current episode of The Amazing Race 8: Family Edition, one thought comes to my mind.

The teams are required to perform a task - ride one round around the Talladega Super Speedway track with a multi-person vehicle known as a party bike.

Obviously, like everyone knows, the Weaver family's father has died in a car racing accident.

The thought that comes to my (maybe everyone's) mind is that whether did The Amazing Race crew deliberately included that task in for the Weaver family team?

I thought this as well...but they did overcome it...just think if they had to actually get in a car and race around it...you know what I mean?

If it were premeditated, wouldn't they have them driving around the track in a car and aiming for test dummies on the track. I don't think this task had anything to do with the Weaver famiily's situation. Different departments!

What I personally think is that the people behind The Amazing Race knew about the situation that happened to the Weaver family, and have included that task into the Race to allow them to overcome from it.

They seem to focus on how the Weaver family are going through a lot during this episode too.

I disagree. I think it's coincidence and makes for good television. The entire premise of this show stinks and they have to grab on to whatever they can to fosuc on to make things interesting. :S

I think the race is planned well before the teams are picked. Plus the fact that it would be done more so for good TV rather than them overcoming it. And what else is there to do in that area?

I dont think it was Premeditated... since TAR8 is the 'Awesome' [sarcastic] "North American Race", I think the race track is one of the best we will get!

Let's see where we have been; a Giant Chair (whoopee!), a Scientist on a Hammock (Yay! Party Time!), to a Random Farm on Cookie Lane or something a rather! (Awesome!), and to top it ALL off, we went to an awesome all-america, sight seeing, worth the while GAS STATION!!

So compared to these, a race track was the best they had to offer! Do I think they did it purely for the Weavers? No. Do I think they knew it would cause trouble? Yes!

They were (in their minds) a win-win situation! 1. Weavers fall down and cry, fail miserably, creating Drama OR 2. Weavers miraculously overcome their past expeiriences heroicly! Either way its Dramatic!
