Well Jim really shot himself in the foot this episode. Does he seriously think that he's as cunning as he puts on? It's obvious that Martha sees right through his ruse, as did Chuck. Why argue a guy back into staying? He should be happy it's not him. I would have fired both Jim AND Chuck if I were Martha... but alas I'm not.

Anyone else notice that Jim is always playing as if he's going to lose, picking out his next victim? Not a smart way to play Apprentice... I think he saw Mark Burnett and figured he was auditioning for Survivor...

RE: Actually, I think it was Chuck who shot himself in the foot because not only did he almost give up during the task, but he gave up in front of Martha and her associates. In the case of Jim, he's definitely walking on a very thin wire, because he showed his true colors towards Dawn, not to mention that his sore ego is going to be his downfall, eventually. I thought during this task, everyone was conveniently ganging up on Dawn. I didn't necessarily see anything negative out of her during this task, and this time, she did roll up her sleeves. Otherwise, I think Martha made the right decision.

I didn't see anyone ganging up on Dawn at all. They all listened to Jim talk about her, but I didn't see them saying much about her in the boardroom.

As for Craig shooting himself in the foot, yeah that was a given, but that doesn't mean Jim didn't shoot himself in the foot. Martha knows that he's playing this as a game, and there's no way in hell, if he keeps playing this way, that Martha will hire him.

RE: You're right. They didn't say anything in the conference room about Dawn. The only negative words towards Dawn, came directly from Jim's mouth. Back in the loft, however, (from the uncut version) Bethenny said a lot of negative comments about Dawn, despite the fact that she felt Chuck should go home. Shawn wanted to know if Dawn could contribute to the team, other than negative feedback, while David and Marcela remained in the circle as listeners.

RE: Yeah, in a way, it's true. Jim only shot himself in the foot from the way he keeps hammering his dislike towards Dawn. He claims that it's nothing personal; I disagree. I think Jim is a sniveling backstabber. Did you see the way he tried to bribe Chuck with bottled water to get Dawn out of the team? He even went to Chuck and said, "you're brilliant, you're beautiful. We need you on this team." Right after his conversation with Chuck, Jim then said, "don't you resign, and don't forget your bag. I love you." I love you?! When I heard that, the first thought in my mind was, "oh, for God's sakes, Jim. Stop it!" You know, kissing people's asses will only get you so far in life. To me, those are the signs of a minion, and not a leader. With that said, although Jim likes to talk the talk, I honestly don't think he can walk the walk. For the life of me, I really can't picture Jim working for Martha Stewart, let alone any popular mogul. He has a huge chip on his shoulder, and I think it's something he really needs to work on.
