What happens when you get a bunch of passive-agressive people in one room? You get a team named Matchstick! Really, that team is dooooomed. Doomy doomy doomed. At least for the next few weeks, until they cut the fat... Primareus not only has the better name (although both annoy me), but also the better team. For some reason, this version is a little more entertaining than previous shows - perhaps because it's humorous to see these people be extremely upset and yet completely smug at the same time

Ok, who was the genius who came up with splitting the teams corporate vs. creative? It must have been a corporate person's way of making sure they were on the winning team. A team full of creative people is a good way to lose. Can you imagine a full team of Danny's? Not a good idea. |

Hello, everyone!!! Wow! It feels great to be back in the swing of things. Hope everyone had a great summer.
Okay, let's get down to business.I will admit that I was a bit skeptical about watching Martha Stewart's Apprentice because I didn't know if she was going to make the show as interesting as The Donald. Well... I was dead wrong. I caught tonight's episode, and I must admit that I am impressed. So, the two teams are Matchstick and Primarius. Personally, I like both names. Both tasks were asked to create and read stories to young children, and whichever connected with their team the most wins the task, and the losing team -- oh, let's skip this part. We know what happens if you lose. Team Primarius got off to a rocky start for Project Manager Dawna, but picked up eventually because of her team's ability to connect with their focus group -- the children. As the reader, Howie creatively drew the children into the world of Jack and The Beanstalk, and immediately impressed the children. As for Team Matchstick, Project Manager Jeff took matters into his own hands, when he decided to stick to his own ideas, against the wishes of his teammates. To add to the drama, Dawn's negativity annoyed her team. Jeff decided to create an ineffective rhyming story of Hansel and Gretel, which left the children bored and motionless. At the end of the task, Primarius definitely came through with a happy ending, and as reward, they were treated to a sushi dinner with Tadashi Ono, head chef and co-owner of Matsuri. Unfortunately for Matchstick, their story had a sad ending -- someone from their team would be sent home. Although most people felt that Dawn should be the one to go due to her negativity and her poor work ethics, it was Jeff who was sent packing by Martha Stewart. My opinion: I think Martha made the right decision. Yes, I can agree that Dawn was a huge problem because of her negative attitude. However, she's not "entirely" responsible for the team's loss. I don't see her lasting too long, but I didn't think she was totally at fault for this task. Her only problem so far is her attitude. In the case of Jim, I didn't necessarily see much out of him, but at the same time, I don't see any reason why he should be blamed for the task. However, I would like to see more from him within the next tasks. Jeff IMHO made the biggest error. He could've used his time wisely to meet with the children, just like Martha said in terms of "connecting with the customers". Also, he heard from his teammates about what works and what doesn't. He chose to ignore them, and unfortunately, it cost him big time. The other two are considered lucky, in particularly Dawn because she just talked her way out of this boardroom. |

RE: Thank you so much. It's great to be back, and I just love the show "The Apprentice" -- both Martha Stewart and Donald Trump. So far, so good IMHO.
