Well it’s been two weeks since my last recap, so forgive me as I’m getting a little rusty… the special guest on this episode didn’t make things any easier recapping this show, but I’m getting a little ahead of myself.

We start off the show with a recap, followed by Julie Chen giving us another recap, which is then followed with another recap, and then finally, we get everyone’s opinions on James’ eviction. April feels that she is everyone’s hero for finally getting rid of James, and that everyone in the house is happy except Ivette. Ivette says that she and James were good friends since the beginning, and at one stage they became enemies in the game, but they will always remain friends. She said that the sympathy vote would not have proven anything (except perhaps that she was ready to turn on her teammates). Beau states that they had to get him out this week or he would have made it to the final two.

Time for a recap of the HOH competition! Howie says that the PBA (Professional Bowling Association) won’t be calling him anytime soon, but that he got the job done, and he needed to win this time around. He also tells us that the Nerd Herd won’t be walking all over him this time, like they walked all over him before. April is sad that the cult didn’t win it, and they’ll have to lose another member… they better start building that shrine now I guess. Ivette is extremely frustrated, because she has her own bowling ball. This was supposed to be her competition, and she lost it.

She continues to moan about why she can’t be blessed by getting HOH, and Beau tells us that she is really taking things hard. Ivette claims that Janelle has the worst soul in any human being, and that she regrets keeping her in the game. Ivette seems to have a penchant for calling people names that would be good ways to describe her. I’m reminded of the old elementary school saying “I’m rubber; you’re glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.”

As we get the recap of Howie nominating Ivette and Beau, Ivette explains that she knew that Howie had to pick her and Beau, and she didn’t seem to be offended at all, cause she knew that was how it would have to be. Beau tells us that it wasn’t a surprise, and Howie reminds us once again that it was difficult for him. Janelle states that while Beau is a thread, Ivette annoys the living crap out of her… to which I wonder how much crap is living in her? Then I quickly change the subject in my mind to what could possibly be in Howie’s HOH room.

Wow… what a coincidence, I was just thinking about this, and now here’s a segment on Howie’s HOH room! Howie gets lightsabers, and everyone seems extremely excited for him. He points to a picture and explains something about it, but he doesn’t care, he’s got his lightsabers  Janelle says that they’re great for Howie, even if they are a little nerdy, while Maggie tells us that she’s such a dork, cause she just wants a toy like Howie’s lightsabers. Howie seems to be giving jedi lessons and tells all the non-jedis to be careful since they could take their foot off.

April reminds us once again that the cult has not won HOH, which means that Janelle is not going home, and that gets under her skin. We’re now treated to a discussion between Maggie and April about how they need to become partners, since everyone else in the house has a partner, and Ivette comes to ask them “what happened?” I laugh at the look of terror on April’s face, as they tell Ivette that nothing happened. Later on, Ivette asks Maggie to play veto for her, so that Maggie can win and take Ivette off, and put April up, and they can vote off April.

Time for the veto! I have to admit… I watched the show through once, without taking notes, then I watched it a second time, taking notes. The second time through, I had to skip through the POV competition, because the special guest was none other than Holly King from BB5 as the host. I think her voice was set an octave higher than it was on the actual show last year, and I just couldn’t take it the first time through, let alone the second. So basically it was like a game of craps where they rolled the dice, and had to answer a question that was on the dice for a specific week. The more they bid, the more they won if they were right. The less they bid, the less they won… but there was also a side of the die that said “crap out” which had nothing to do with any of the houseguest’s problems with the PB&J diet… it meant that they all lost their bets. Anyway, the winner ended up being Maggie.

Janelle is upset that she didn’t win POV, cause she wanted everything to go according to plan for either Beau or Ivette to go, and now it’s out of their hands. Maggie has no idea what to do, because it’s a horrible position to have to choose between different cult members. Ivette is sure to tell Maggie that she looks cute with the necklace.

Now for the most brilliant move of the whole show: As everyone is in the kitchen hanging out, Maggie asks Howie if she can talk to him for a second in the HOH room. Howie asks if Janelle can come. Maggie would prefer that she not come, at which point Janelle says “I’ll come with”… at this stage, I must comment that I have mixed emotions. On the one hand, I really like that Janelle is defying what Maggie wants, and is coming with them to make sure that Howie doesn’t do something completely stupid, but on the other hand… I HATE that phrase. It’s so lazy to say “I’ll come with” say “I’ll come with you” it’s just an extra syllable people!!! Anyway… Maggie isn’t too happy about going with Howie AND Janelle, so she decides she won’t.

It’s time for our three-times-a-week cult meeting. This time around, they discuss how to use the veto. Maggie wants them to decide for her, but they don’t seem to be down with that. April seems crushed and the conversation that Maggie and April have after Beau and Ivette leave has to be transcribed:

A: Thanks for not using it
M: I may use it
A: What?
M: I may use it
A: Oh… ok
M: Do you understand where I’m coming from?
A: *long pause* umm no

And we the viewing public, are treated to more scenes of April crying “How could Maggie do this to me… Pepperoni would never betray me like this… waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah” April goes to Janelle who tells her that Maggie is getting ready to stab April in the back, and prepares April for it.

At the POV Ceremony, Maggie asks Beau and Ivette to give the boring talks that no one listens to, in order to plead for the POV to be used, and then Maggie explains that morals get in people’s way in this game, and so they are a hard thing to have, and with that, she chooses not to use the veto.

When it comes time for eviction, it’s time for another boring speech from both nominees, and then everyone votes, and Beau is gone by a vote of 3-0. Everyone gives him a big hug goodbye, and then he goes to answer the world’s worst questions from Julie Chen. His answers are about as clear as his shady gray/starch white/stark black speech, and I find myself making a “horse face”. Basically he doesn’t regret getting rid of James instead of Howie, and he thinks Ivette’s chances are good.

For the HOH competition, the guests are asked different questions about the pairs in the house, and they have to pick the right person from the pair. The score after eight questions was: April – 6 Maggie – 7 Ivette – 7 Janelle – 5, and so the tie-breaker is between two cult-members Ivette and Maggie. In the tie-breaker, Maggie guesses 1 in order to give the competition to Ivette, and so Ivette wins HOH and runs screaming to the far side of the backyard for reasons unbeknownst to anyone.

So who will she put up for eviction? Find out on Tuesday, and get ready to read Becki’s awesome recap!

Thanks for that recap dflem. I was so sad that I missed the show completely. (DANG college football season). But now that I know Holly's voice was apart of the show, I'm kind-of glad I missed it.

Yea to BB for giving Howie his lightsabers. Maybe by some miracle the force will be with him and Janey though the end.

And finally our poor pouty Ivetter gets HOH. Did they all go to her room and did she finally get her picture?!? Hopefully that will shut her up for awhile (yeah, right)

Thanks again... it was a great recap and I don't feel like I missed everything that happened now!

Welcome to my recap hell! On the bright side, in stead of 45 minutes of recap Ionly have 35 minutes of recap. :D Now you know why I picked Thursdays. :laugh

I'm surprised you remembered any of it. I couldn't get the ringing out of my ears for a good day and a half after that episode aired. NO MORE HOLLY!
