 Stewart 'Apprentice' Once Dated Judge's Son A contestant on "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart" has a potential leg up on her competition: She already knows one of Stewart's sidekicks on the show. New York chef Bethenny Frankel, one of 16 people vying on-camera for a job with Stewart, has dated the son of Charles Koppelman, the chairman of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and one of two people who will help Stewart determine who gets the boot on the NBC series (Stewart's daughter Alexis is the other). "Apprentice" mastermind Mark Burnett and the show's producers opted to let Frankel remain on the show, however, rather than bringing in an alternate contestant. A spokesman for Burnett tells the New York Post that the potential conflict of interest "is dealt with in the first few minutes of Episode 1" but declines to go into specifics. Stewart's "Apprentice" is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, Sept. 21 on NBC. Frankel, 34, has known the Koppelman family fore more than a decade, the paper says. She dated Koppelman's son Brian, now 39, "10 or 15 years ago." Frankel owns a company called Bethenny Bakes, which makes wheat- and dairy-free cookies, and has previously worked as an event planner in Los Angeles. Link. |
