Is anyone planning to go to a Live 8 concert? I am not, couldnt even get a ticket, they were sold out in 20 min. The nearest show will be in Barrie, and I hear the traffic in and out will be monstrous. If anyone is going I would love to hear about it. Come back here and tell us all the juicy details.

I think that VH1 and MTV are going to be showing it all day long on Saturday... should be very interesting. I'm going to try to watch/tape most of it.
*Insert saying that I think is funny here*

I watched a bit of the Canadian one on TV, and saw some of the American, German, and British ones on a webcast.

I thought all the shows put on were excellent, and performances were amazing. Here's hoping it will have an impact on talks on July 6th :)

From what I saw from tv and interenet, it looked truly awesome. Anyone there participated in a momentous event.

I don't understand why they didn't charge at least $20 for a ticket. With the money they would've made they could've made a huge difference while making a point as well. I don't think the debt will be cancelled and this concert was a missed opportunity to make a difference in itself.

Unfortunately, that money wouldn't make a huge difference. It would either...

A. Go into the pockets of corrupt governments

or

2. Go back into our pockets as a way of repaying their debt

The whole debt creates a never-ending cycle, but the G8 leaders can all put a stop to this, and knowing the millions of people that are behind this can't hurt either. Sure George Bush is a sitting duck president, but there are plenty of people around him that would like to run for president, and they could have an awful lot of sway.

This is political action at its best. Will it do EVERYTHING that it has set out to do? Probably not, but it could still make an enormous difference.
