ART Fixture Posts: 374 Group: Writer Member #28 Joined: March 9, 2005	The time is finally drawing near. This is crunch time for the castaways. We begin our final journey by watching Gilligan shave his chest hair, while Prof Tiy-E pedals the bike to supply Gilligan's shower water. The Prof questions Gilligan on why he is shaving and Gilligan says it is because he is itchy. But in a private interview, Gilligan says " It was a strategical moment for me. Little do they know that when I rip my shirt off, I'm going to be way more aerodynamic than anybody else on the island. The way that I generally shave my chest hairs is very condusive to swimming. I learned that from Mark Spitz, compliments of the 1984 Olympics". Back in Gilligan's hut, the Prof and Gilligan peruse Gilligan's chest for any remaining chest hairs while The Skipper relaxes in the hammock. In a private interview, The Skipper says that Prof Tiy-E and Gilligan have definitely bonded. He says it's none of his business "how" they have bonded or "what they do" with their bond. (My personal thought : I think we all pretty much agree with The Skipper, right ?):wacko In Ginger's hut, she and MaryAnn discuss who they feel is the strongest competitor. They both agree that it's Prof Tiy-E. Ginger assures MaryAnn that she has no reason to distrust her and MaryAnn feels she can trust her. Back in Gilligan's hut, he and the Prof discuss how they are going to get rid of Chaz aka Skipper Charlie. As the camera zooms in on MaryAnn walking past in her usual fashion (hanging half out of her bathing suit bottoms and jiggling away), Prof Tiy-E refers to her as the brainless one and says that she will be going along with whatever Ginger does. Gilligan says the only way to get rid of the Skipper is to grab one of the girls votes. As they are discussing this, Ginger is walking by, and Gilligan, ever the sly one, yells to her to come in to the hut because he needs to ask her a question about a show she was on. That was so lame that even the Prof has to laugh. The race is nearly over! Before you send your list of topic titles via PM to dfleminator, ever contestant must have posted an Introduction in the introduction forum. If you have done this before, there is no need to do it again, however if you have not done so, do it before your PM to dfleminator. The person who sends the correct list in the fastest will win!To make matters even WORSE, when she comes in, Gilligan says "actually, that was a total ploy". Wow, who would have thought THAT !!!! As Gilligan obsessively clips his fingernails, they try to get information out of Ginger, but in a private interview, Ginger states that all she knows is that she doesn't want to have an alliance with anyone. However, later that day, Ginger tells the Skipper that he doesn't have to worry about her going in on a threesome to get rid of him. She tells him that she wants to see him go to the top. Radio Announcement : Meet at the beach for the next Reward Competition The castaways head down to the beach and meet up with Host Scott who is waiting to give them their instructions. There are 5 covered plates, one for each castaway. Under the covers are favorite foods of each castaway. Skipper: Nachos MaryAnn: Steak and Potatoes Gilligan: Buffalo Wings and French Fries Ginger: Bacon Cheeseburger with French Fries (i'm getting hungry !!!!) Prof Tiy-E: Macaroni and Cheese and French Fries Did I hear that right ? Mac and Cheese and .... French Fries ???? Sounds like a strange combo to me, but it put a big smile on the Prof's face !!!! There is a twist to this competition. There is a SECOND reward. A box of video messages from home. (nostalgic music plays as the castaways ooooh and ahhhhhhhh). Now for the instructions. Gold nuggets are scattered along the shore. The box of videos will be placed on one side of a scale. Next to the meals are treasure chests. They will have 5 minutes to place gold nuggets either in their treasure chests or .. on the other side of the scale. If after 5 minutes, there is enough weight on the scale to tip it, they all win a video from home. And the castaway that has the heaviest treasure chest gets to eat their meal. As the whistle blows, the castaways begin collecting the nuggets. Prof Tiy-E, Gilligan and Ginger are placing their nuggets on the scale, while Mary Ann and The Skipper opt for filling up their treasure chests. Prof Tiy-E is saying that he wants to see his Mommy, and , Mary Ann states that she wants to see .. "evvvvvvvery bodddddddy". In a private interview she says she feels horrible for being so selfish .. but .. she's hungry !!!! (This was a bit confusing to me because I thought it was an either/or type of deal, but just before the whistle blows, Mary Ann and The Skipper are both adding nuggets to the scale.) Time is up .. will they have enough nuggets to tip the scale ?? Tension mounts and .. YES !! They will all be able to see videos from home. Host Scott announces that no one but The Skipper and MaryAnn ( I guess I was wrong about the either/or thing), put nuggets in their chests so it's time to see who will get to eat their meal. And the winner is ................drum roll please ................ The Skipper !!!! The Skipper takes the videos and his nachos and they all head back to camp. Back at camp, Gilligan and the Prof give a last ditch effort to try to sway Ginger onto their side by saying that The Skipper was out for himself and didn't make a team effort. But Ginger just says that everyone was taking care of their own thing and that's what they did. As the Skipper sits and eats his nachos, everyone sits there and salivates while they watch him. The Skipper tells them a sad tale of how he is all alone in the world , that his parents are dead and he basically has no one in the world. As he crunches on his nachos he touches the heart of Ginger. As he finishes off his nachos he says that Gilligan is gonna catch hell tonight because he ate beans for dinner !! (Skipper's new favorite phrase : watch out !!!! ) Later that evening, it's video time. Gilligan's video : why, it's his Mommy !! along with friends and family. Gilligan grins from ear to ear as his mother says she misses him and "i will see you when you get home, little buddy !!" That gets a laugh out of all of the castaways. MaryAnn's video : it's her mom and her .. kid (not sure if it's a boy or girl). As MaryAnn watches, she bursts into tears and the castaways do a group .. "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww". Ginger's video: it's .... it's .... two dogs ???? And a girl who tells her to hurry home because "life is not the same without you". Ginger says that she is her best friend. (my personal thought : hmmmm, best friend ? or could it be something .. more):suspicious Prof Tiy-E's video : It's his mommy and other family members. After the video, there are random unenthusiastic claps from the other castaways. Ok , no more videos .. hey wait !! There's a video for The Skipper !! Aha !! He DOES have people in his life. Who will it be ?? Skipper's Video : it's three hillbilly friends !!!! The Skipper says in amazement , "gee it didn't dawn on me that they could take mah FRIENDS and make a video !!" After such an emotional evening, they all decide to join together for a group hug. As they get settled in for the evening .. Gilligan and Skipper lay in their hammocks and enjoy some idle chit chat. The Skipper tells Gilligan that he's going to send his mother a belt for Xmas to whoop his butt with. They both laugh and as the light hearted music plays , Gilligan says he is going to go to sleep. The Skipper farts , Gilligan says ooooof and it's the perfect end to a perfect day. (My personal thought: at least Gilligan's hammock is ABOVE the Skipper's !!!!) The next morning , Gilligan and the Skipper do a bit of bonding. The Skipper teases him and says that he thinks Gilligan has the hots for MaryAnn but Gilligan blushes and says NO WAY !! The Skipper farts . (no, just kidding) Radio Announcement : Report to the Lagoon for the next Safety Competition Prof Tiy-E looks a bit ill at the sound of the Lagoon, but the Skipper is elated !!!! As they arrive at the lagoon, Host Scott meets them and tells them the instructions. There are items scattered in the lagoon and all of the castaways must dive in and retrieve whichever item Host Scott tells them to. But !! There won't be enough items for all of them so whoever doesn't come up with an item, will be eliminated. With that, he hands a life vest to Prof Tiy-E and they get ready for the contest. (My personal thought : how in the world is a person supposed to be able to dive under water with a life vest on ????) First object : pineapple .. they all jump in and the Prof's life vest comes undone and he flails around in the water. As is to be expected, the person that comes up without an item , is Prof Tiy-E. Second object : raft .. Skipper and MaryAnn are neck and neck .. Gilligan gets a little winded and needs to take a break. Person without an object .. Gilligan Third Object: tiki .. once again, Skipper and MaryAnn are neck and neck. Person without an object .. Ginger Final Object : the SS Minnow .. Skipper and Mary Ann fight to the death. Person that GETS the object .. The Skipper !!!! Watchhhhhh Ouuuuuuuut !!!! Back at Camp : A little idle chatter , MaryAnn complains about her bug bites and decides to take a nap. Meanwhile, Gilligan tries to talk the Skipper into voting against MaryAnn, and Ginger feels worried now because she told MaryAnn that she didn't have to worry and Ginger says .. my word is everything to me. Voodoo Village : As the ever present lightning storm ensues, the castaways meet at Voodoo Village. Skipper goes first : his vote is kept secret Gilligan: his vote is for MaryAnn .. he says he's been waiting for this day for a lonnnnnng time Prof Tiy-E : another vote for MaryAnn .. he says .. "MaryAnn, you talk too much" Ginger: her vote is kept secret MaryAnn : she votes for the Prof .. she says she's sorry but he poses the biggest threat to her. The votes are in and Host Scott, with dramatic bongo music accompanying him, .. counts the votes. 1 vote Prof Tiy-E 1 vote MaryAnn 1 vote MaryAnn 1 vote MaryAnn 1 vote MaryAnn With tears in her eyes, she realizes that everyone but herself, has decided to vote her off. With a tearful farewell, she wishes them all the best of luck and says .. "we'll all get back together sometime, I promise" (my personal thought : Yah right !!) She throws her voodoo doll into the fire and walks off into banishment. Back at camp: The guys sit around the fire and discuss MaryAnn. As Skipper teases Gilligan about having the hots for MaryAnn, Gilligan once again insists that he never found her that good looking. However, shots from the first episode show Gilligan saying , " i totally thought MaryAnn was hot .. she's a good looking girl .. great body " (my personal thought : BUSTED !!) He then begins rating the girls .. MaryAnn is a 6 for looks, a 0 for personality. Erika is an 8. And he gives Angie a 9 1/2. Ginger overhears this and is a little upset that Gilligan only gave her an 8. oops !! Later that evening, Gilligan and the Prof are alone by the fire and Gilligan states that it's really kind of peaceful out there with just the two of them. The Prof says .. "I like the way you say that" .. uhhhhhhhhh That morning, Gilligan is being a little touchy feelie with the Prof and in a private interview, he states that the Prof has had a backache and has been a little standoffish of late .. He then asks the Prof if he would like a backrub or .. anything. Ok enough already !!!! Gilligan then decides to start trying on Ginger's jewelry and other assorted items. Ginger walks in and finds this all quite amusing. (Funny what boredom will do to you) Radio Announcement : Report to the beach for the final Safety Competition Prof Tiy-E is thrilled to the highest point because it said beach and not lagoon. The Skipper says it's "onnnnnnnn like a chicken bone" At the beach : The castaways meet Host Scott who tells them about the challenge. Each person has four posts that they have to walk to using planks that they lift up and put in place. Each post gets smaller the further they go out. They stand on each post for 5 minutes before putting the planks in place. They only have 90 seconds to cross their planks. If two or more people end up on their last posts, the person that will stand there the longest, will win. The contest begins : Ginger feels confident because she says she has great balance and smaller feet. However, when it comes time to put the planks in place, she finds that they are really heavy and she has a hard time getting it into place. With only 15 seconds to go, she gets her plank in place and makes it to her second post. Meanwhile, all three of the other castaways had no problem getting there. 5 minutes on the second post and now they are putting the next plank in place. Gilligan and The Skipper make it but Prof Tiy-E and Ginger don't. Now it's up to Skipper and Gilligan. On the third post, the Skipper looks a bit shakey but hangs on. Time to put the next plank in place. Both are being very cautious and just as Ginger yells out "Focus Charlie Focus !!" he loses his balance and plunges into the water. Gilligan wins !!!! To celebrate, he and the Prof do a big chest butt. Back at camp: The castaways sit around the fire and in a private interview, Gilligan states that he's not quite sure how he is going to vote. Could he go against his hibbidy dibbidy Prof ?? Ginger once again tells the Skipper she's got his back. In a private interview the Skipper says if they don't vote him out , he will own the island tomorrow. Gilligan decides to do his own rendition of the Gilligan's Island Theme Song .. need I say more ?? Voodoo Village : with the final lightning storm, the castaways walk to Voodoo Village. Tension is high as it is the final banishment. Host Scott tells them that tomorrow the final three will be in the final competition. Time for the votes. Gilligan is up first : his vote is kept secret Prof Tiy-E : he votes for the Skipper Skipper : he votes for Prof Tiy-E Ginger : her vote is kept secret Host Scott counts the votes : 1 vote Prof Tiy-E 1 vote Skipper 1 vote Skipper 1 vote Prof Tiy-E It's a Tiy-E !! I mean .. it's a TIE !! Host Scott explains that in the event of a tie, the person that has had the most votes against them throughout the game will be banished. Skipper has received 2 votes The Prof has received .... 5 votes As Prof Tiy-E addresses his fellow castaways he says .. "it's been real" .. "it's been real" .. he then hugs the Skipper, does a special little handshake and a big chest butt with Gilligan as they gaze into each other's eyes, and they then hug tightly. A kiss and a hug for Ginger and he throws his voodoo doll into the fire and takes the final walk into banishment. As he walks away, they show clips of the Prof and Gilligan's past love fests. It is then revealed that Gilligan voted for the Skipper and Ginger voted for the Prof, so they both held to their promises. Back to camp for their final night on the island: they sit around the campfire as they realize that tomorrow they will know who the winner will be. Gilligan says he is going to bed and then he says .. "generally what i like to do before big competitions is ......." Ok, I replayed this about ten times and for the life of me, I can't understand what he's saying. Ball up mattresses ?? All nighters ?? I haven't a clue and I'm not sure I even WANT to know .. but it put a big grin on The Skipper's face and got a giggle out of Ginger. Next morning : The Final Day !!!! The three meet up together and discuss their feelings. The Skipper says "no matter who gets rescued, I'm gonna be grinnin' like a mule eatin' sht" (my personal thought : do mules eat sht ? and do they grin while doing so ?? ) Radio Announcement : Report to the campfire for the final competition Host Scott meets them and breathlessly tells them of the final competition. He says that a rescue helicopter is flying in the air above the island and the castaways must get its attention. They will each get a map which will lead you to a hut in camp where a shovel is hidden. Once they find their shovel they must take it to Voodoo Village where there will be a marker for each castaway. They must dig under their marker until they find a supply box which will contain everything they need to start a fire. They must take the supply box to the beach where there will be a fire pit and torch with their marker on it. They must use the items in the supply box to light a fire. Once they do that, they must light their torch , then make their way out to a platform in the water. The first person to get to the platform, put the torch in the holder and light the signal flares will be rescued by the helicopter and win the quarter million dollars. In private interviews : Skipper says : ahm gonna calm mah energy down.. ahm gonna work on mah mojo .. cuz today .. it's onnnnnn like a chicken bone !!!! Gilligan says : i'm definitely gonna go all out .. try to do absolutely everything in my power to be able to win this money and then I can go laughin' all the way back to Bean Town (that's slang for Boston to those of you who may not know) Ginger says : .... .... nothing .. she doesn't get a pre-contest interview .. hmmmph Let the games begin !!!! As the nerve wracking music plays, the castaways search high and low for their shovels. Gilligan finds his first and runs to Voodoo Village. Skipper finds his next and heads off to the village. Ginger brings up the rear. Skipper arrives at Voodoo Village to find Gilligan already frantically shoveling. Finally all three are shoveling. Skipper gets his box out first and goes running to the beach. Ginger still feels fairly confident because she says she knows it takes a long time to start a fire because they did it on their first competition. Gilligan has his box out and goes to the beach. Skipper has poured some kerosene in the firepit. Gilligan is using a battery and a little piece of steel wool. Skipper finds two matches so he takes paper and puts it on the kerosene, finds the striker and strikes the matches. He starts the fire and in his words .. "at this point .. it was onnnnnnn like a chicken bone". Skipper lights his torch and runs out into the water. Gilligan looks over his shoulder and sees Skipper walking out into the water with the torch. He says "at this point, I knew all that could save me would be a gust of wind to blow out his torch or a splash of water". (my personal thought: i can't believe i am saying this but .. I feel bad for Gilligan. The music is kind of sad and .. well ..) Meanwhile, back at Voodoo Village, Ginger is still digging. Suddenly, in the distance she hears .. " watchhhhhh outtttttttttt " and she's thinking "no way could he have lit his fire that fast". Gilligan starts thinking .. Professor Tiy-E where are you .. I need some divine intervention.. I need you to save me.. The Skipper gets up to the platform while yelling .. "watchhhhhh outttttttttt" "watchhhhhhhhh outtttttttttt" .. he puts his torch in the holder and lights the flares and starts yelling for the helicopter. Gilligan stands up with his hands on his hips, takes off his hat, and declares .. "it's all over". By the time Ginger gets her box to the beach she sees Skipper standing on the platform with the flares. The helicopter circles toward the Skipper and lowers down to let him aboard. He's smiling and pointing to Gilligan and Ginger as they clap and watch him sit down in the chopper. Gilligan says it's a pretty crappy feeling and he's dirty and tired. Ginger is all happy and says that the Skipper had the best attitude the whole time. (well, she IS an ACTRESS so she probly doesn't NEED the money !!!!) Ginger yells .. "don't forget about us Charrrrrrrlieeeeeeeeeee" .. Skipper waves and yells .. " I'll be backkkkkkkkk !!!! I LOVE YOU !!!!" Ginger yells back .. " WE LOVE YOU TOO CHARRRRLIEEEEEEE " .. Gilligan is saying something but I can't hear him over Ginger.. He's probly saying .. "Speak for yourselffffff Gingerrrrrrrrrr" As the chopper veers sideways, it flies off into the sunset with The Skipper looking out the doorway. He says .. "it's a whole new world for me now. I will never forget this , I'll never regret anything, and I think it's one of the most wonderful things that's ever happened to me". And with a final "watchhhhhhhhhh outtttttttttttt" , the island grows smaller in the distance and The Skipper flies off to collect his quarter million bucks. THE END Final Note : I'm really happy that I was asked to write the recaps for this show, otherwise I probably would have never made a point to watch each episode. It was my first time writing so I was a little nervous, and I was even MORE nervous when I found out each show was going to be two hours !! As corny as the show may be, it really was alot of fun to watch, and the music ..(as a friend of mine pointed out to me) was hilarious !! I found myself laughing out loud in certain parts. I will definitely watch it again if they have another season. I'm actually sad it's over !! Til next time .. WATCHHHHHHHH OUTTTTTTTTTTTT !!

I must admit I couldn't make it through a full 2 hour show at all... so I am impressed even more. This was my favorite quote of this recap: becki It's a Tiy-E !! I mean .. it's a TIE !! Excellent work, and I can't wait to read your next recapping venture!

I'm glad you managed to point out the obvious about MaryAnn's attire. Did she bring that bathing suit or did they make her wear it? :blink
