Dr. Horrible Posts: 4,810 Group: Admin Member #2 Joined: February 13, 2005	Well, I was disappointed with this episode. Some of the better contestants from last week did not so great this week. I think the performance of the night was definitely Jessica Sierra's "With a Broken Wing". I was disappointed with Nadia and kind of disappointed with Carrie, although I think the judges were harder on her than they should have been. They were acting like she did Janis Joplin poorly, but while Piece of My Heart was originally sung by Janis Joplin, you could tell that Carrie was singing the Faith Hill cover version of the song, and when put in that perspective, it was pretty good in my opinion, but not as good as last week. I have to say I really liked Lindsay Cardinale's "Think about Elvis", I was surprised that three girls chose country songs (I'm lumping Piece of My Heart in as country, cause she used the country version) I know the judges didn't like Lindsay all that much, but I have to say her deep voice is very different from the "diva" hit-the-high-notes style that we hear so much of nowadays. There's something about Janay that I really like, and I agree with Simon that she could do really well after getting some experience under her belt. I wish she could try out again in two years. I think that this week, Janay and Celena will be the ones to go (but I predicted that last week... so who knows?)

AP Moderator Posts: 1,680 Group: Amusement Park Moderator Member #10 Joined: February 28, 2005	Was it just me or did anyone else think the band was overpowering some of the performers last night? I also thought some of those girls were trying to sing lower than their natural range. I almost thought a couple of them forgot the words or didn't begin with the cue because they were singing so low at the beginning. I was actually disappointed in the show last night. I thought the guys did MUCH better than the ladies this week. I was surprised at a few of the performances--much worse than the week before. Nobody really "blew my socks off" during the Tuesday night performances.
