Post Nomination Reactions
Following the first nomination ceremony of the season, Jessie and Renny approach Jerry who tells them to "work it out with the people". Renny goes on and on like she's not aware of any "altercation" that involved her and Jessie within the last 24 hours. Jessie is sticking to his theory that it's all Renny's fault.
Meanwhile, Brian continues to uphold bragging rights for these nominations. He feels he's got Jerry completely under control.
Once Jerry heads up to the HOH room, Renny is in the kitchen completely baffled by her nomination. Jessie walks in and she tries to joke with him about it and ask if he knows about this altercation Jerry referred to. Jessie, in a rather mature moment, tells her he's not going to play dumb for her. She knows exactly what happened. He starts to walk away and she starts in again about how immature he is. He turns around and tells her to say whatever it is she has to say. Renny wasn't expecting the confrontation and is momentarily speechless. Again, Jessie turns to go and she starts in again with the nasty comments. Again, Jessie turns to her and asks what she has to say. He points out that twice he's asked her to tell him what's on her mind and both times she has nothing to say to his face. He adds that they both are well aware of the incident and, oh by the way, you never apologized for that incident. Renny looks confused.
Jessie then heads up to Jerry's room to talk to him about the nomination. This is a pretty stupid move since the nominations are made, Jerry doesn't have a vote AND he was pretty clear where he stood with the whole thing. However, Jessie is feeling the need for validation. Jerry repeats what he's already told the boy twice when side note: I had "fuzzy headed girl" written in my notes. I later learned this is Michelle Michelle enters the room to give Jerry another hug and to make sure she's kissed his butt enough for the day. Jessie is visibly annoyed by her entrance. His annoyance quickly turns to nausea as Jerry decides to tell them a story from the Book of Solomon. The story is how a child was stolen and two women claim the child is there. The king not wanting to take a side decides the baby should be cut in half. This is supposed to be the same as Jerry's HOH decision to take sides in this BB matter. I don't get it either, but whatever. The point was clearly lost on Jessie because in a DR session he tells us the story was about Sam or Samuel.
HOH Party in Jerry's room was prompted with Jerry telling the girls that he hopes people will come up and help him eat his food. I'm thinking there aren't too many cravings for prunes and Metamucil, but I could be wrong. Renny pipes up and asks Jerry if he would open a bottle of wine. He said he would be happy to and maybe he'll even open two.
Everyone gathers in Jerry's room to help drink his wine. Renny clearly looks apart from the crowd and her uncomfortableness is evident in her face. Jessie is the center of attention because he's in the middle of tHe room and he's surrounded by more of his younger fellow contestants. Renny has had enough and decides she's going to take this moment to say something. She addresses Jessie and apologizes again for waking him up. BB editors were nice enough to give us a brief glimpse of the confrontation the night of the event and Renny very nicely apologized to him at the time. They failed to show her turning into a witch a split second later and calling him a baby. Jessie thanks her but has to have the last word so he announces that it took her a day and a half to get around to it. Now Renny is pissed. She raises her voice and tells him she can not be in the same room with an inveteriate liar. Gold star for Renny's use of a big word. Jessie has no idea what she just said because she used such a big word. She points out that she apologized the night of the altercation and quite sweetly. You can tell that Jessie suddently remembers this from the look on his face and the fact that he didn't have a comeback to it. Renny leaves the room and the group has lost their buzz. Brian looks like the cat who ate the canary.
Speaking of Brian...we see a montage of Brian working members of the household. His coersion tactics involve schmoozing, promising and even a little threatening. Most houseguests are intimidated by him and agree to his evil plans. However, Memphis is not easily swayed and puts him off. Now we see Brian talking with his boys and Michelle and telling them if Jessie wins POV he will tell Jerry to put Memphis up in his place.
Oh yeah, a showmance is already budding between April and Ollie. Idiots!
Pajama Party - POV
Our first POV of the season and it's a sticky one. Before I get to that I guess I should tell you, aside from Jerry, Renny and Jessie, April, Michelle and Memphis were chosen to participate. Angie will be the hostess.
EWWWW!!! In the backyard is a huge bed filled with multiple colored pillows. At the foot of the bed is a bridge that goes over a river of honey. On the other side of a bridge is a stand with six stations holding five mason jars. The contestants must go under the bridge (through the honey) to get to the bed. Inside the pillows amongst all the feathers are little stuffed bears. Each contestant is assigned a color and they need to find the bears that match this color, crawl back through the honey and put the bears in the mason jars. The winner will have all the bears in the jars first.
It took forever for the contestants to get through the honey. The fastest was Memphis. The slowest was Renny. Long story short: although, Memphis and Michelle gave him a run for his money, Jessie managed to pull out the win.
Finding Just the Right Replacement
There is nothing else that we at ART like more than an overconfident player. In fact, the more confident, the better. Because confident people tend to cross that very thin line into cocky and then it gets real good. Brian is that player this year. He is so sure that his entire master plan is fool proof. First we see him holding court with his boys pointing out that Memphis played just a little too well during the POV competition. He goes to Jerry and reiterates his point and tells him that Memphis needs to be the replacement nom. Jerry agrees telling Brian that he will let Memphis believe he is a pawn to get Renny out.
Meanwhile, in one of the bedrooms, Ollie is holding court with April, Libra and the "other blonde chick" that's what I have in my notes. Libra is freaking out about the replacement nom and Ollie is trying to convince her and the other two they are perfectly safe. Brian just happens to walk into the room looking all smug from his talk with Jerry. Ollie pulls him into the conversation asking him to reassure the girls they are safe. Brian tells the girls his master plan and how his target this week is Memphis. As he's talking, Libra and the other blonde chick who isn't April look pale. Libra's mouth is gaping open she's so shocked by this display. The girls all nod when asked if they are in on the plan. Brian and Ollie leave them to talk amongst themselves.
Libra, who is quickly becoming my favorite player, is totally on to what is going on. She tells the girls that Brian, Ollie and DAn are in an alliance and they are using the girls and Jerry to do their dirty work. April isn't buying it beacuse she and Ollie are close (on a physcial level) and he hasn't said anything to her about this alliance. Libra slowly explains to April her deductive reasoning and April is getting upset. The other blonde girl is visibly pissed now and leaves the room. As she heads for the sauna, Libra and April go to the bathroom.
Libra is still going on and on about this situation and April stops her. Again, she voices her opinion that Ollie couldn't possibly be a part of this because he would have told her. Libra assures her that he's the wingman for the threesome and again paints a picture for her. April starts to tear up because she realizes she's been had. She tells Libra she's going to confront Ollie. She takes a moment to compose herself and then she yells for Ollie to come to the bathroom. Ollie walks in and April unleashes on him. Libra backs her up. Ollie starts back-peddling and it isn't too long before he's selling his boys down the river. He tells the girls that someone needs to warn Nemphis.
Meanwhile in the sauna Keesha (aka "the other blonde girl") is telling Michelle and Angie about the situation and Libra's deduction. Michelle doesn't see convinced, but that's because she thinks she's aligned with them as well.
After alerting Memphis to the fact that there is a game being played and his name has been brought up by the biggest player in the house, Ollie quickly makes sure the rest of the house knows what's going on. Libra, April and Ollie all meet up in the hippie room and decide that the whole group has to go to Jerry and tell him what's going on and he has to replace Jessie with Brian and not Memphis.
NEVER Ambush the Colonel
The group decides the best way to get Jerry away from Brian and Dan without them figuring out what is going on is to send one of the girls to the backyard where they are talking and ask Jerry if she can use his bathroom. Since Jerry has to open the door for her, it pulls him away from his conversation with Dan and Brian.
As they head upstairs, the remaining houseguests are waiting on the couches outside the HOH bedroom. They corral Jerry into the room and Ollie starts to tell him the long story about Brian's antics in the house. Memphis wants to cut to the chase since they have no idea how long it will be before Dan or Brian comes inside. Jerry looks a little ticked off and asks if they are threatening him. They try to reassure him they are not when Jessie reminds him he doesn't have a vote this week. He tries to back-track and the others help him out since they need to reassure Jerry he is safe for the next week if he goes with the majority.
POV Ceremony
While Jessie pretends to deliberate at the photo wall, we get a shot of a DR confessional from Brian feeling all confident that things are being played according to his plan. Memphis will replace Jessie and be out the door this week.
After the houseguests gather and Jessie does the obligatory veto ceremony opening statement, he gives Renny a chance to plead for him to use the veto on her. Renny's no idiot though and she's not going to waste a speech on something she knows is NOT going to happen.
Jessie saves himself and Jerry stands to name a replacement. I love that during Jerry's speech about the deception in his alliance the smug look on Brian's face slowly starts to fade when he realizes that he's been had. Jerry does, in fact, replace Jessie with Brian.
Instead of breaking down and freaking out, Brian sounds confident as he tells us that "the player has been played" but it's still early yet.
Will Brian go home or will the house rid itself of the psychotic enigma that is Renny? We'll find out tonight...
