Teaching a lesson... or trying at least.

This one has nothing to do with a show, I tried to make it relate, but nope not happening.

Yesterday I went shopping (see the WNTW blog). At Cato, I got a shirt, shoes, and a necklace. My total was $26 and some change. I said "Wow, that's the cheapest I've ever gotten out of here, I think."

We left, I went and got my hair and nails done, then came home. I started thinking about my purchases, and how cheap my Cato run was. I wondered what was on super sale, so I got the receipt out. I didn't get charged for my shirt.

So I told Andrew we'd have to go back, because I didn't get charged.

He said, "Or not. You just saved some money." He's 8.

I said, "No, baby, that's not how it works. That's like stealing, and it's bad."

Karma is a boomerang and all that jazz. Woot! A reality TV reference! :)

So we go take the shirt back and pay for it, there was someone different working and she was very impressed that we did that. Then we went down the shopping center to Quizno's for a bite to eat to go. As we're walking back to the car, I was asking him if he understood why I had gone back to the store and why I had to pay for the shirt.

He said .....

"Yeah. But at Quizno's they don't care, because the sign said 'If you don't get a receipt, it's free.'"

What Not to Wear?

I'm off to have a semi-girl day. Except instead of a girl friend, my 8-year-old son will be tagging along. That wasn't the original plan, but due to the unfortunate passing of his father's best friend's mother (did you follow that?), I've got a tag-along today. No big deal...for me. But doing girly stuff with Mom is not his idea of the best way to spend an afternoon.

It can't be helped. My best friend is... no, got married this morning in Mexico, and she's having a reception in NC next weekend. The dress is "dressy casual" and nothing in my closet seems right.

Who am I kidding? My closet is Stacey and Clinton's playground.

So I'm going to go shopping for something to wear that doesn't make me look like a complete dork, shoes to match. Ugh. Shoes are not my thing. What the heck? Might as well get my hair and nails done too.

If only I had personal shoppers, high class stylists, and a $5K MasterCard....

Andrew and the selection at Cato's, Fantastic Sam's, Pretty Nails, and my limited budget will have to suffice. :sigh:

To watch or not to watch?

I am one of the seemingly rare fans of Big Brother USA who saw BB1.

Pre-Dr. Will's first (and best) run and win.
Pre-people who knew people.
Pre-"twists."

Sure, it was a simpler game, and not nearly as exciting as some of the "events" of later years, but who could ever forget the Trinitron dance? The Great Walkout That Wasn't? The CUDDLE BED?

I loved BB1.

The feeds were free, my son was still a baby and slept a LOT, and I was HOOKED. I watched six nights a week on TV.

BB2 was even better, but I couldn't get the feeds. My now ex-husband (I swear, the BB1 feeds didn't cause the divorce, but they didn't help matters either LOL) refused to pay for them, so I relied on the updaters. I  live feed updaters.

Will Kirby, Season 2, is the best player in BB USA history, bar none. IMO, of course.

Somewhere along the way, I got bored. I believe it was season 5.

Season 6 was good, I watched All-Stars. I watched one episode of BB8 and declared myself done. I didn't even watch the beginning of BB9.

Now AG says they'll be complete strangers. That makes me curious. A little. We'll see.... I hate losing my online friends for the summer to the show I can't dredge up enough interest in anymore to even know the cast names.

Can we just go back to BB1 or even BB2? Banner planes and megaphone girl ROCK!
