My Big Brother Thoughts and Predictions
Alright, I have to admit I am very excited about this season. I’m a little surprised by my excitement, partially because it’s right on the heels of BB9 (which, admittedly was a dud) and partially because I really didn’t think the cast would be that great. I thought it would likely be the usually twenty-something crew. Allison Grodner (the show’s producer) has not disappointed me for a change (yet).
Upon looking at the houseguest bios, and seeing the houseguests revealed on The Early Show, I think there will be plenty of people that I like and even a few people that I will love to hate. Here’s my take on the houseguests:
April – Ok, so April is admittedly one of my favorites already. April has been diagnosed with OCD… something that she considers to be very strong. I also have OCD (though undiagnosed)… I am happy to finally have someone that I can identify with on television. I am looking forward to her organizing bottles in the fridge every night, and making sure everything is in a pattern! Of course, this could be a major turnoff to her fellow contestants if they have a problem with this, but in reality her OCD affects no one but herself, from what I understand. Now if some idiot decides to mess her nice neat bottles up on purpose… then it’s AWWWWWWN!
Jessie – This is the youngest guy in the house. He is a professional bodybuilder… ICK! The Early Show portrayed him as the eye candy of the house, but I can’t see it. I obviously am not a girl, and am not attracted to men, however isn’t there such a thing as too much muscle? I think so. Other than that, the guy seems like a nice kid. I have nothing against him except that his muscles are all ugly. He could do well, or more likely people will view him as a threat, and he’ll be out early.
Steven – The gay cowboy. Jury’s still out on him. He says he is good at manipulating. I look forward to that, but since season two, I haven’t seen anyone who is really that good at manipulating the game (apart from maybe Eric as America’s Player). People that say they are very manipulative either are (Dr. Will) or they are wannabes (Joshuah). I’m betting this guy is a wannabe, though I hope for the best. He could be quite interesting!
Memphis – He already seems pretentious to me. He considers himself a mixologist, and not a bartender. I’m not sure what the difference is, but honestly, I doubt I’d want to have that discussion with him. Other than that I’m getting a lot of bland from him. Bland and pretentious. What a good combination. Actually, that might be enough to get him into the final three!
Libra – I’m really pushing for her. In case you hadn’t heard, she likes Obama, and lives in the middle of Bush country. Of course, I was just surprised that there was an area of the country still called “Bush Country”… apart from maybe the home of George HW and Barbara… but I digress. I’m just not sure that Libra really understands what she’s getting into. Things may be harsh, and I’m not sure she’s ready to deal with it. Another interesting tidbit… her babies are four months old. That’s right, twins at four months, and she’s leaving them. To each her own I suppose. Despite all this, I’m pulling for her, but I don’t hold out much hope of her making it much higher than 8th place.
Angie – Well… talk about boring. I forgot she existed until I saw her name on the list. She has just recently divorced. She also seems to have Jessie’s description as her perfect partner… so we’ll see what happens between the 22 year-old and the 29 year-old there…. Overall, I could see her slipping under the radar to make 7th place or so.
Renny – The N’awlins Socialite. I look forward to “meeting” this one. She sounds very interesting and might bring life to a dying show. I do have fears that she may be the next Sheila, however I think she has a little more personality than her, just from reading her bio. She could either be really entertaining, or really obnoxious. I’m pushing for entertaining, because I really want to push for her. Unfortunately her age may put her at a disadvantage so she may end up on the outside looking in. I’m guessing 9th or 10th place finish for her.
Keesha – If there’s one organization that absolutely disgusts me it’s PETA. They’re a bunch of crazed lunatics if you ask me. If you don’t ask me, they still are crazed lunatics. And it’s just our luck that we get one of these crazed lunatics on the show this summer. I’m betting that she and Dan will be put up together but that she’ll make it through to finish second last. Maybe I’m just wishful thinking, but I don’t know if I could watch the feeds while eating my juicy hamburger from Wendy’s while listening to her whine and moan about cruelty to beef cattle.
Jerry – Oldest contestant ever on Big Brother! I am very excited for this guy. He has such a wonderful heart, doing this for his wife with Parkinson’s. I’m really pulling for him on this one. I know I said Renny was at a disadvantage because of her age, but I think that Jerry is old enough that it could actually be an advantage for him. He is not considered a threat (or at least they may not consider him a threat), and so he could easily coast to the final four. But once it comes down to it, no one wants to be against him in the final two. I see a fourth place finish in this guys future.
Ollie – The son of a preacher man. I can identify with this too. I think this guy is a really great and honest guy all around. Unfortunately, that doesn’t fly well in the BB house, so unless he changes his ways, he will do well to make it to 6th place.
Dan – The man that Allison Grodner describes as not believing that woman are equal to men. His sexist views simply will not fly in that house. Let alone his statements that were made on the Early Show that he feels uneducated people will vote for Obama. This guy is out the door before he gets settled. He’d better win HOH first, cause otherwise he’s out the door during the first week.
Michelle – This woman scares me a bit. I’m not sure why, but she seems Amber-like, and I don’t think anyone needs or wants to see that again. Really though, I have very little to go on with her. She seems bland. Bland enough to make the top two.
Brian – Last but not least, I have picked Brian as the winner of Big Brother 10. I have nothing really to base this on, other than the fact that I have gone through all the contestants now, and haven’t picked a winner yet.
