Is there anyone out there who is as upset as I am about NBC's cancellation of The Contender. We need to protest this action by e-mailing or writing NBC.

Are you talking about it not coming back for a second season? If so I am pretty disappointed by it. The show is very well done and I would love to see a second season. Who knows, the finally might blew up in ratings. You never know with TV, it still has a slim chance.

Epheks Yes, I am talking about the contender not coming back for a second season. NBC just announced cancellations and the ccntender is one of the shows being cancelled. This show was one of the better reality programs on TV. I,too, am very disappointed. We'll see what happens!

No crap. I love this show. I guess NBC thinks shows like Be a Hilton or Tommy Lee Goes to College are better :blink:

Ah... "The Mole" *sniff* I miss it too... it was ABC that took it off the air though.

I just read an article that Mark Brunett plans to continue the Contender and is shopping for a different network.

Well I wish him luck, but considering the ratings, I can't see any major network picking it up.

It's a great show, but the ratings just aren't there.

I have heard that they're in negotiations w/ESPN. Don't shoot me if it doesn't come true though. I'm not sure on how credible this is.

I think it kinda makes sense. Page 2 & 3 on ESPN.com has written a lot about The Contender.

ESPN seems like a natural place for it... unfortunately, I don't get ESPN up here in the great white north... perhaps TSN will cover it in Canada?

That would be your best bet. Luckily I have satellite with it on it :D
