Title: ART Talk DWTS 5 10/2
Description: Elimination Night

lpatrick - October 2, 2007 11:01 PM (GMT)
Someone else is going home tonight. Let's talk about it in here please.

lpatrick - October 3, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
We start off with a recap of all the performances from last night. We see some of the Diary Room Confessionals. With the highest score of last night, Helio and Julianne get the judge's encore and perform their spicy Mambo.

We receive some very sad news from Host Tom. Jane is not present tonight because her mother passed away and she had to return to England. Tom tells that Jane will remain in the competition as a tribute to her mother. With that bit of knowledge we find that Jane and Tony are our first couple that are safe this week. Also safe: Helio and Julianne.

Queen Latifah performs something that sounds like "big band," while a couple I don't know dances the Quickstep. (I ask again...with all the great pros we have on the show...why send me new ppl I'm not invested in.)

We see some audience reaction. Donny is very surprised at how well his sister Marie handled the Mambo. The Cavemen that were in attendance joked that she should have been performing since she was a child. More than one woman thinks that if Cameron would take his shirt off he'd have the competition in the bag. A "mature" lady tells that Helio made her "engine go." Wow...that was so much more than I need to know, but thought I would share so I wouldn't have nightmares alone.

Next two couples that are safe: Mel B/Maks and Sabrina/Mark

Pros (I don't know :suspicious) perform a proper Tango.

Jimmy Kimmel was back and it was so silly, I'm not even going to talk about it.

Another couple returning next week: Mark/Kym.

Queen Latifah performs again while Tony and Anna dance. Afterwards we get a segment of the professional's talking about all the stars. Edyta thinks Mel B could be a threat. Tony comments on Cameron being a daytime soap god. Someone commented that Jane is "expensive."

Comments from the stars about feeling the pressure (it's insane, under the gun, freaky out and sheer panic.) They talk about how scary it is to go out on the dance floor for the first time. They are all "in it to win it."

Two more safe: Johnny and Marie (Oh, that Tom is just too funny, huh) and Floyd and Karina

Four couples remain:

Jennie/Derek- Safe
Wayne/Cheryl- Bottom two
Cameron/Edyta- Safe
Albert/Anna- Bottom two

On this the second week of competition Albert and Anna are eliminated. Everyone is in shock. Albert says he would have done it all over again. Anna comments that Albert is the goofiest guy she's ever met. And with that, the show runs out of time. Join us back next week to see what our stars can do.

All couples that will be returning next week:

Jane/Tony
Helio/Julianne
Mel B/Maks
Sabrina/Mark
Mark/Kym
Marie/Jonathan
Floyd/Karina
Jennie/Derek
Cameron/Edyta
Wayne/Cheryl

Eliminated: Albert/Anna

I am totally in shock that Albert is gone. When it was down to him and Wayne I was sure Wayne was out the door. Unfortunately the American voters seem to like to keep their ancient icons in the contest much longer than they should be there.

To me this was a travesty. Albert had a lot of potential but Wayne Newton has none. Albert was entertaining and I could see him improving as time went on.

Wayne Newton is this year's George Hamilton, Jerry Springer and John what ever his name was all rolled into one.

I guess I just can't say enough how disappointed I am in the results

I wasn't surprised. I said it out loud last night when Albert did his "I did it for grampa" speech. :tireder If he was really working to impress grampa, he should have practiced harder. I wasn't impressed with him (dance-wise) last week or this. Wayne will get his next week and hopefully Floyd will follow shortly thereafter. I have to give mad props to the girls this season, they are really working it!

I was so glad to see Jenny would be back and I was really impressed with Marie's performance last night. Speaking of Marie, lpatrick, Marie herself dubbed she and Jonathan "Johnny & Marie" last night, Tom just picked up on it

Also, all the pros coming in are well known if you follow ballroom (as closely as I do). The tango couples are phenomenal to watch freestyle and the couple that did the quick step during Queen Latifah's first song are pretty hot right now too. I'm sure Tony had to call in some favors to get the European Tango Champs on the show. They are truly amazing to watch. ;)

I only watched bits and pieces (because I wanted to see queen latifah). I want her new cd!

FG... I love to see the freestyle dances and sometimes it's nice to bring in some new blood...but I also want to see the ones I know and love doing some of their best moves with a professional partner. I'm missing Louis and I never thought I would say that.

I think Albert went b/c he doesn't have the fan base that Wayne has. Albert moved better than Wayne but you have to have the votes. I know Wayne is a legend but he's not even as entertaining as the other older guys who have been on in the past. I forgave them for being able to stick around longer than they should b/c of the "entertainment" value they brought to the show. Wayne is not even giving us that.
