Title: Dancing With the Stars 5
Description: Oh My Heck...It's the Season Premiere!

lpatrick - September 25, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
It’s time to jump and jive for season five of Dancing with the Stars. To start off the season, tonight we have all the female stars dancing; tomorrow we’ll see our male stars and then elimination on Wednesday.

Our season starts with host Tom and Samantha…wait, that’s Drew Lachey standing beside our Tom. (Samantha Harris, Tom’s usual sidekick had a baby girl a few days ago and season two winner Drew is standing in.) It’s time to meet the professional dancers. We have some old favorites and some new faces treating us to a wonderful Jive. Afterwards we meet all twelve stars. Tonight the ladies will either dance the Cuban Cha Cha Cha, where they will show us their flirtatious side or the Foxtrot, the Rolls Royce of dancing styles.

Up first is Kelly Taylor, I mean Jennie Garth. Wife and Mom of three girls, Jennie is a self proclaimed big fan of the show. She is paired with newcomer Derek. He comments that he’s not the most macho of the dancers (ya’ think). He’s a little star struck upon their first meeting since he had a crush on Kelly T. During practice she seems to lack a little confidence and is very nervous.
lpatrick’s comments: This was a decent Cha Cha, especially since they were the first out of the gate. Jennie’s arms looked great, but footwork needs some improvement. I can forgive that because she looked so beautiful during the dance.
LP’s score: 8
Judge’s comments: Len- Overcame nerves, you looked confident, great hip action, legs need work; Bruno- Yummy Mummy, looked like a dessert, arm placement good; Carrie Ann- Really well, good job.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 7 Len- 7 Bruno- 7 = 21/30

Josie is a “supermodel.” (And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.) Her partner is Alec, who was the winner of season one and the first to go last season (his partner was Paulina Porizkova…a supermodel…enough said.) When they first meet, she thinks “what a hunk, we’ll have great chemistry.” :suspicious (Huh???) Alec quickly finds out that just because she looks good doesn’t mean she’s very fit. He has to put her through boot camp to help her gain some strength so she can do some of the moves/holds.
lpatrick’s comments: I love Alec and would like for him to stay longer this season but Josie is not a dancer. She looked like she was having a good time but her skills were lacking. I saw a lot of missteps on her part.
LP’s score: 5 (sorry Alec)
Judge’s comments: Len- You looked elegant, but your footwork was baaaaad; Carrie Ann- You are a little out of your element, but you did your best; Bruno- The Foxtrot is hard even for the pro’s, you looked like a beautiful sailing ship stuck on the bank.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 6 Len- 5 Bruno- 5 = 16/30

Sabrina is a Cheetah girl…ask your kids or grandkids (it’s a Disney thing). Mark, a new pro this year calls himself a dancing ninja. As they practice the Cha Cha, Sabrina wants to incorporate some hip hop moves and put some of her own style into this dance.
lpatrick’s comments: The dance was quick with precise body locks/movements. It was a great routine. I was pleasantly surprised.
LP’s score: 9
Judge’s comments: Carrie Ann- That was fierce, I’ve never seen a Cha Cha like that before, but a little too much hip hop; Bruno- Bewitching blond dynamo, your footwork was like surgical precision; Len- You two take a chill pill, it was very, very good, sharp and fast…but I don’t want to see the hip hop.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 9 Len- 8 Bruno- 9 = 26/30

Marie has been performing since she was three. Her partner Jonathan is describe as the “perfect gentleman of the ballroom.” When they meet, Marie exclaims, “Oh my heck.” :giggle: She’s very competitive but wants their Foxtrot to be fun. During practice Jonathan has a little trouble keeping her focused. (She reminds me a little of Joey Fatone.)
lpatrick’s comments: Slow and sweet. Marie looked like she had a wonderful time. It wasn’t anything fancy but it was nice.
LP’s score: 7
Judge’s comments: Bruno- Classy yet sassy, smart lady; Great story made up for any short comings; Len- It’s like a Christmas present, you don’t know what you are going to get, lovely; Carrie Ann- Have to agree, so adorable.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 7 Len-7 Bruno- 7 = 21/30

Mel B is a gal that likes to be in control. And she gets the perfect partner to take that control all away. Maks is known as the “bad boy of the ballroom.” He’s not afraid to make'em cry as long as he gets the results he wants from their dancing. Mel seems overjoyed at their first meeting commenting,…"Oh, you’re that hard one that’s in love with yourself.” :D (She said it...I'm just reporting it...teehee.) Maks thinks the Cha Cha is perfect for Mel because she’s cheeky, like the dance.
lpatrick’s comments: Great dance, hip movement was great. Maks is too cute for his own good. They both pulled off the “cheeky” for this dance.
LP’s score: 8 (and a half)
Judge’s comments: Carrie Ann- Good, very nice, happily surprised, but you were a little out of sync; Len- Liked it a lot, you sold it; Bruno- Feisty kitten, right on the money.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 8 Len- 8 Bruno- 8 = 24/30

Last for the night, but certainly not least is Jane, that’s Jane Seymour. Former Bond Girl and Dr. Quinn, Jane says that Dancing is her favorite show. When she finds out Tony is her partner she squeals like a little girl. During practice Tony tells that Jane is very hard on herself and he doesn’t need to push.
lpatrick’s comments: You would never know this lady is the oldest, ah, excuse me, the “most mature” of the women. She was the epitome of grace and class. The dance was soft and elegant.
LP’s score: 8
Judge’s comments: Bruno- Essence of elegance; Carrie Ann- Great night, you are elegance personified; Len- Tony, lovely job, it was light and beautiful.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 8 Len- 8 Bruno- 8 = 24/30

We get a few comments from the male stars that we will see dance for the first time tomorrow night. They had some film of them doing a lot of talk but will they have the walk, or make that Cha or Trot? :)

Leading the ladies tonight is Sabrina with a score of 26 while Josie holds the bottom spot with a 16.

Join us back tomorrow night when we get to see the men take the floor. Do you have something to say about the show? Sign up and chat with us! All opinions are welcome and we'd love to hear from you!
