I just checked my TiVo for the next time Pirate Master will be airing since it wasn't airing tonight and it came up that there are no episodes scheduled. :S
Anybody know anything?
dfleminator - July 25, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
It's been cancelled... I actually just found out and was on my way to post it...
funnygirl - July 25, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
They aren't going to show us the ending? What a bunch of crap!!
Epheks - July 25, 2007 03:53 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that is a bit of a joke. The show wasn't that great but at least just pump out the episodes. It's the summer, what else is CBS going to play besides knockoffs and repeats?
dfleminator - July 25, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
The episodes will be placed on CBS.com
TG4XANAX - July 25, 2007 04:53 AM (GMT)
CBS canceled Pirate Masters with only 48 hours notice. You can watch the remaining episodes on cbs.com on Tuesday nights after 2am est. Tonights episode, espisode 9 is already on....I watched 2/3rds of it and then the last part won't load on innertube. I tried downloading it to my computer and it tells me that it has been copywrited and can't be downloaded. I don't know if this will change after 2am or not. Anyway....it stinks that CBS just cut us adrift like we were the ones who had to walk the plank.
This is what I know so far.......Asmyzth ,lost his first mates, there are no longere any first mates....lost his challenge...so he is no longer captain.......that blond haired girl who is the stay at home Mom, I forget her name is the Captain now and she got 50grand and didn't have to split it with anyone else if she didn't want to....she did split the money....she may have screwed kendra out of 10grand by doing something dirty, but this we find out in the part that cbs will not show......asmyzth and kendra got the black mark, only two get black marks now, :angry and it appears as if kendra was the pawn and asmyzth was the one they wanted to set adrift....but this is also in the part that cbs won't show......i have read who got set adrift...but reading it and seeing it for myself are two different things and I am not gonna pass on any rumors that I can't confirm.
Just go to cbs.com and click on watch full episodes and click on espisode 9...you may get lucky and get it to work for you....good luck....

They pulled this crap with the Mole one year. You'd think they would at least tell us the outcome. Out of sight out of mind .. hope someone remembers to let us know ... see the topic has already been moved to the archives ... took me a while to find it cuz wasn't expecting the move
funnygirl - July 25, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
Thank you TG4. I will do that and report back what, if anything, I find out. I was really disappointed as to how this show turned out, but to flat out cancel it for Two and a Half Men reruns it must have really been floating along in the rating sewars.

CBS pulls 'Pirate Master' from the airwaves, moves episodes online
By Christopher Rocchio, 07/24/2007
Pirate Master has been cut adrift by CBS. The network has announced that it has decided to pull the Mark Burnett-created reality competition show from its summer primetime programming schedule effective immediately.

Instead of continuing to air in the Tuesdays at 10PM ET/PT time period that the show had relocated to earlier this month, Pirate Master's five remaining episodes -- beginning with the broadcast originally tonight at 10PM ET/PT -- will now made available for streaming on CBS.com every Tuesday morning beginning at 3AM ET.
"I tried," Burnett had told reporters attending the Television Critics Association summer press tour about Pirate Master last week, according Television Week. "I don't understand why it's not working. All I can do is deliver high-quality shows."

First announced last November, Pirate Master premiered on CBS on Thursday, May 31 at 8PM ET/PT -- the seventh anniversary of the date that Survivor, Burnett's original CBS reality series, made its debut. However despite a heavy promotion push and the advantage of airing in Survivor's regular time period, the premiere episode delivered unimpressive ratings and averaged only 7 million total viewers and a 2.3/8 rating share in the Adults 18-49 demographic.
Following a second week of disappointing ratings, CBS announced that, beginning July 10, Pirate Master would move to the Tuesdays at 10PM ET/PT time period and Big Brother's live eviction episodes -- the timeslot's traditional summer occupant -- would take over the Thursdays at 8PM ET/PT time period.
CBS had presumably hoped that having Big Brother's Tuesdays at 9PM ET/PT broadcasts serving as its lead-in would help boost Pirate Master's ratings, however the move didn't work -- Pirate Master's first Tuesday broadcast averaged only 4.6 million total viewers and a 1.6/5 rating/share among Adults 18-49, a significant decline from the show's already previously unimpressive Thursday night ratings.
48 Hours Mystery will replace Pirate Master in the Tuesdays at 10PM ET/PT time period.

For those of you who are interested in watching the final shows I came up with a solution that worked for me and may or may not work for you. If you tried watching with Real Player and it kept ending before you got to see the 3rd or 4th part clear your history and cookies and go back again and start over and if gives you a choice of players choose the window media player (if you don't have the media player you can download it for free from Microsoft.
I tried both with wireless and cable internet to watch with Real Player and was never able to get past the 3rd segment. And that took about 6 tries, but when I went back and chose the media player to use for playback all four segments played with out a hitch.
Hope this helps

Real Player sucks...
That is all.

Here's the skinny on this week's episode for those of you who are dying to know.
The triad was disbanded and there are no more officers. The cap'n was dethroned finally and Christa took his place and won $50,000 that she was not obligated to share. After much thought, she decided to split it. Kendra and Azmyth were given the black spot. The pirate cut adrift this week was...

From Reality TV World:
Former 'Pirate Master' contestant Cheryl Kosewicz found dead in home
By Steve Rogers, 07/29/2007
Former Pirate Master contestant Cheryl Kosewicz was found dead in her home from an apparent suicide on Friday.
Kosewicz, a 35-year-old deputy district attorney that had recently relocated to Sparks, NV, had been the fourth contestant eliminated from the recently canceled CBS reality series. Prior to moving to the Washoe County District Attorney's Office in Reno, NV, Kosewicz had spent six and a half years working in the Clark County District Attorney's Office in Las Vegas. According to her CBS biographical information, she had specialized in the prosecution of sexual abuse cases.
Kosewicz's death, which is still under investigation, occurred less than two months after her boyfriend, Ryan O'Neil, also took his own life, Reno's KOLO-TV ABC affiliate reported Sunday.

O'Neil, a 26-year-old heavy equipment operator from Gardnerville, NV, died on June 12, according to a June 15 obituary in The Nevada Appeal. Based on comments posted via her myspace.com account, Kosewicz had been having a very difficult time coping with O'Neil's death.
"Truthfully, I've lost the strong Cheryl and I'm just floating around lost," Kosewicz wrote in a June 28 comment posted on the myspace.com webpage of fellow Pirate Master contestant Nessa Nemir, a 29-year-old make-up artist from Berkeley, CA. "And this frik'n show doesn't help because it was such a contention between Ryan and I and plus its not getting good reviews."
Kosewicz had graduated as valedictorian from Lake Roosevelt High School in Coulee Dam, WA in 1990. After high school, she attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she played on the school's Lady Rebels womens basketball team. She graduated from UNLV in 1994. In 2000, Kosewicz received a law degree from Lewis and Clark School of Law.
Kosewicz is survived by her parents Ted M. and Elizabeth Ann, her brother Mike, her grandmother Wenona Ried, and extended family and friends.
Kosewicz's funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday at 10AM at Walton Funeral Home in Reno. An interment will follow in Las Vegas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Kosewicz's family requests that donations be made to Kids Kottage, a Washoe County protective shelter program for children that have been removed from their families. Donations can be sent to: Washoe County Social Services, P O Box 11130, Reno, NV 89520.
Last Monday, CBS announced that due to poor ratings, it had decided to pull Pirate Master, a Mark Burnett-created reality competition show that was filmed on Dominica earlier this year, from its summer primetime programming schedule effective immediately.
Rather than continuing to air in the Tuesday night time period that the show had move to earlier this month, Pirate Master's five remaining episodes -- beginning with the episode that had been scheduled to air last Tuesday -- will now made available for streaming on CBS.com every Tuesday morning beginning at 3AM ET.
Should Kosewicz's death be conclusively ruled a suicide, it will be the second to hit a Mark Burnett reality show. In 2005, Najai 'Nitro' Turpin, a 23-year-old boxer from Philadelphia, PA, fatally shot himself following an early morning Valentine's Day argument with Angela Chapple, his longtime girlfriend. According to Chapple, the couple had been arguing over custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
Turpin's death came a month before The Contender, a Burnett-produced reality boxing series that had filmed in late 2004 and included Turpin among its cast, premiered in March 2005. Like Kosewicz's Pirate Master elimination, Turpin's The Contender elimination occurred during the show's fourth episode

For those who might care at all, Nessa was cut adrift last week and Kendra this week. Those remaining are Krista who is Capt., Jay who threw the last expedition so Krista could remain capt; Ben, Laurel and Louie.

For those who still might have the slightest bit of interest, Laurel was cut a drift last week and Louie this week. It sound as if next week is the finale with Jay, Christa and Ben as the finalists.

The final episode is playing really weird on my computer. It keeps skipping around and freezing and now it restarted and I don't feel like watching the whole thing over. Does anyone know who won?
chairo - September 7, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
Christa and Ben are the final two. Will put up later today who won, after I finish watching it
