Talk about tonight's show right here!

The District Attorney has left the building ... or rather the ship. I am really getting tired of JD's arrogance but he slipped the noose yet again, and it made me cheer that he forked out so much money for something he ended up not needing. I wonder however, why he received less votes than Cheryl? Those people can't be all that happy with him and how he treated them.
Azmath or however you spell his name sure proved that nice guys don't always make the best leaders. I couldn't believe how he totally blundered the treasure hunt. That alone should have gotten him booted but like the others I really sort of like him and his fake accent, which disappeared with the hat.
Louie running the ship is sort of funny. He really is a good egg, but I think his desire for vengence was really over the limit. People keep comparing him to Rupert but I think Rupert had a lot more class. I like Louie, just don't thinking he is playing the game to the best of his advantage. He needs to move past JD and just play the game. I also don't think he should have been captain. When he said he is better at supporting a captain than being captain I think he nailed it and proves he knows himself very well.

I recall Rupert getting very angry when Burton voted against him, and then he sought out revenge, much the same way Louie is doing right now.
I think everyone (or many people) are viewing Rupert through very rose-colored glasses.

Hiya... I got a phone call at the end.. How much did JD pay for the pardon.
I don't like JD either because he is arrogant jerk.. I understand the $ issue they are all there for the $ not to make friends. But the thing that annoyed me was the food issue he could have split the food... good and bad up equally... the show is about the $$ not lording it over the peons with fruit, eggs and bacon
funnygirl - June 22, 2007 03:03 AM (GMT)
Hi dudette! Welcome to ART and to the ship! JD forked out $7,000 only $1001 more than Jay who was probably 2nd. Cheryl didn't even try for the pardon. Her arrogance got the best of her.
I disagree with the JD arrogance line Chairo. I think he made a valid point and his arch nemisis just proved him right with the Captain has the hardest job on the ship and is automatically marked when they are no longer captain. JD didn't just suddently become confident or adopt a strong character (like Azmyth and his accent), he's been that way since the show began. I'm sure he had no way of knowing that there would be a pardon to bargain for with his winnings, however, if I'm the capt. I'm keeping my half because if I'm going next week, I'm taking as much $$ as I can (yes, the players take home what they have earned). I think that's why Cheryl didn't waste a dime of her well-earned $$ on the pardon. She couldn't really out-bid JD anyway.
As far as booting Azmyth for making a technical error, have you forgotten who was the key component in the last two hunts? I think he does better as a follower than a leader, but taking him out at this point would have been a waste of an opportunity.
Cheryl got booted because she couldn't humble herself and make a credible argument this week. ;)

Dfleminator I loved Rupert. He has been my all time fav on Survivor. I was glad when they voted him that other million. I guess what I like about Rupert was he seemed so childish. Like stealing the shoes. But I admit like all of us, he had his faults.
As for this show I do not particualarly like arrogance. Or selfishness. The food issue was a very good and valid point. Keep the money if u must but don't chow down on the good food while lazing around while the others are eating slop and doing all the work.
I do not think in this life one person is better than another just because of education or experience (not saying others don't have more talent in areas) or position in life. That is why when someone like JD acts so superior, he can be the hottest guy in the world and I'd still want him gone. You know of course Louie is gone if JD makes capt again, so it has turned into a fued within the game...of course if everyone loves Louie, JD may not be able to pull it off.
I am up in the air about the money. Of course it is a game and you want to win all the loot you can but you also want to stay in the game. JD blew it Azmyth blew it and Louie blew it. There has to be a compromise in there somewhere that can get you more money and still not have people out after your skin.
funnygirl - June 22, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I disagree about Louie being gone. When Louie goes, and he will, JD can only black spot him, the rest of the crew has to cut him adrift. He continues with this vigilante thing against JD the crew is going to toss him. You could tell by tonight's show the crew was definitely split by the Cheryl decision. I think JD hit the nail on the head with the crew isn't nearly as happy as Louie seems to think it is.
I too agree about the food thing. There's no reason for the captain to be all fat and sassy. They aren't real pirates and it's not really the captain's boat. They should all be working. I still maintain my stance on the money situation. Anybody who splits a pot (even a meager $5,000) is a stupid pirate!
I would LOVE to see a girl captain next week. :D

The more arrogant they get in reality shows the more I like them lol Boston Rob, Dr. Will are two great examples. JD just uses it stupidly, but I like the fact that he knows he is marked and is being a jackass but still manages to stick around. I think most people knew he would throw up the most money for the pardon and they didn't want to waste a vote. I wanted to see a vote that said "Annoying accent guy" cause maybe then he would take the hint and shutup for good. He will never be voted back in just because of that.
It's funny how everyone sees Louie as the Rupert of this show. I am sure that is why they casted him.
toque - June 23, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
Oh, I think that's precisely why the casted him, Epheks! The Survivor season Rupert was in was the "piratey one" (piratey one?? :S) and they were hoping to repeat the "magic" (notice the quotes) perhaps?
I find JD extremely annoying. I'm quite sure if I were on that ship I'd have smacked him one upside the head by now. Ugh, pompous-like... and just the way he talks, man. Dude.
I would have smacked Azmyth upside already for sure for the accent, just not really very hard.
Cheryl talking about integrity and not back stabbing and all that happy hoohah... aren't they supposed to be pirates?!?! Please.
I like the way Jay is playing. It's fun to watch.
chairo - June 23, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
Jay looks extremely familiar to me, has he been on other reality shows?
dfleminator - June 23, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
I don't get why anyone is mad at Azmyth over a silly accent. So he does an accent? What's the big deal? I thought it was funny
chairo - June 23, 2007 03:53 PM (GMT)
This will prove my attention to detail but until everyone started pointing it out I hadn't realized he didn't have an accent in the first place. And I sort of agree. I like the man and if he wants to do an accent more power to him. He is the one facing ridicule by the others and if he has that much of a free spirit and self assurance then go for it.

I checked a few sites and he has only been on this show. But he does kind of look familiar to me too.
dfleminator - June 23, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
Some people are likening him to Lex from Survivor Africa and All Stars...
funnygirl - June 23, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
No way! Lex was way cooler and a lot better at the conniving. :smug Jay's a wannabe!
chairo - June 30, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
I have been itching to talk about this episode. I liked it better than most of the others. There was more intrigue but once again the Captain lead his team to a loss. Azmath (?) is back at the Helm with Jay and Ben. Mr. adorable is gone now. He was the face that was fun to watch but I believe the biggest liar and backstabber on the crew and that's Sean. I was sorry to see him leave because he looks so good but was happy to see someone who's word means nothng cut adrift.
It was fun to watch Nessa scramble for her life and it was pure genius for the captain not to nominate her. It was also very nice to see Louie and JD bury the hatchet. Of course now where will we get our intrigue?
I have a feeling most of these shows we love to watch are going to take a back seat when BB starts this week.
dfleminator - June 30, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
I was out most of this week, and missed pretty much all the shows I usually catch... I missed this show... sounds like a good one, maybe I'll catch it online...
