Five couples remain to heat up the competition. They will all perform two new dances tonight. The competition is getting tougher than ever.


Ian/Cheryl: Ian and Cheryl celebrate her birthday. They talk about bringing out the chemistry. For their Ballroom round they will be dancing the Foxtrot. He wants to make it sizzle.
lpatrick’s comments: It was good but it still looks like he’s trying to force some emotion.
LP’s score: 8
Judge’s comments: Len- Mr. Consistency takes a bit of a dip, a bit skippy; Bruno- Totally agree, you were like a jumpy goat; Carrie Ann- Footwork off, but you have so much charm.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 8 Len- 7 Bruno- 7 = 22/30


Joey/Kym: Joey feels confident. He and Kym go to the Kentucky Derby to blow off some steam. For their Ballroom round they will be doing the Waltz. He wants it to be “proper” for Len, without all the razzle-dazzle.
lpatrick’s comments: The number on his back was a cute touch. Kym dress looked a little too “young.” The dance was smooth and sweet.
LP’s score: 9
Judge’s comments: Bruno- Stripped down, but I like all the razzle dazzle, this was not good enough; Carrie Ann- I have to go with Bruno, don’t hold back, missing the Joey Special; Len- You did elegance and showed a different side, lovely.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 9 Len- 9 Bruno- 8 = 26/30


Billy Ray/Karina: BR is just happy to still be here. Karina is still trying to help him with the dance moves. They will be dancing the Foxtrot for their Ballroom round.
lpatrick’s comments: BR does not dance. He walks. His posture is horrible. If this is him giving it his all, then it is past time for him to leave the floor. He finally moved his feet at the end more than he has the whole season.
LP’s score: 5
Judge’s comments: Carrie Ann- Marvel at the fact that you are still in the competition, technically not up to par; Len- Right steps, wrong time; Bruno- Always deliciously awful, Foxtrot on Temple of Doom…It was crap.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 7 Len- 6 Bruno- 5 = 18/30
BR is fuming!!! He tells Samantha that Bruno calling me crap is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Laila/Maks: This week Laila is dedicating her dance to her parents. Her mom has been at every performance but this will be the first time that Daddy Ali has been in the studio audience. With her being the last woman standing, she wants to make their Waltz elegant.
lpatrick’s score: Ok, I have to admit… I cried. The dance was too beautiful and sweet. It was great storytelling. The dance was even more meaningful with her Dad in the audience.
LP’s score: 10
Judge’s comments: Len- Had class, elegance, fantastic; Bruno- Lady in red, sold it; Carrie Ann- Transformation incredible, true and profound.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 9 Len-9 Bruno- 9 = 27/30


Apolo/Julianne: Apolo feels he has a lot to prove. He feels that they will reach a new level with Julianne’s choreography. He wants to shoot for mind blowing with their Tango.
lpatrick’s comments: Great song (Jesse’s Girl) and an even better dance. Apo has awesome feet. Loved it.
LP’s score: 10
Judge’s comments: Bruno- So inventive; Carrie Ann- Fantastic, everything perfect; Len- Lacked passion and drama. (After some drama with the judge’s scores…)
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 10 Len- 8 Bruno-10 = 28/30

Latin Round:

Ian/Cheryl: Rumba
lpatrick’s comments: Mr. Hips is back. Much better than their Ballroom dance.
LP’s score: 8
Judge’s comments: Carrie Ann- It was a good effort; Len- You had great hip action, but your poses don’t look natural; Bruno- Thought you were in business.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 8 Len- 8 Bruno- 9 = 25/30

Joey/Kym: Mambo
lpatrick’s comments: The song was horrible and distracted me from the whole dance. I did notice some nice spins. He brought the razzle-dazzle back.
LP’s score: 8
Judge’s comments: Len- Very clever; Bruno- Pimped the Mambo, good time; Carrie Ann- Ease on the dance floor, you stepped it up.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 10 Len- 9 Bruno- 10 = 29/30

Billy Ray/Karina: Mambo
lpatrick’s comments: He moves around the dance floor like he’s stepping in a bucket. He spent too much time on his knees and once again let Karina do all the dancing.
LP’s score: 5
Judge’s comments: Bruno- (I say this with love) You are a wild beast who can’t be tamed, Karina is going to have to go to the Betty Ford Clinic; Carrie Ann- Thought Ballroom was better, you make people think they can do this; Len- Always entertaining, but it’s not you do one get one free…you went berserk.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 6 Len- 7 Bruno- 7 = 20/30

Laila/Maks- Jive
lpatrick’s comments: The dance was fun and upbeat. I don’t think you can really make the Jive sexy so I liked all their pervious Latin dances better than this one. Not my favorite of theirs but still a good dance.
LP’s score: 9
Judge’s comments: Carrie Ann- Really good, clever, but watch your arms; Len- Very pleased but tells Maks to add more content; Bruno- Laila is everything you can possibly wish for in a partner…use that.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 9 Len- 8 Bruno- 9 = 26/30

Apolo/Julianne: Paso Doble
lpatrick’s comments: This was Apo’s night. The best Paso I’ve seen this season. Excellent posture.
LP’s score: 10
Judge’s comments: Len- Passion, drama, proper dance; Bruno- You are a champion looking at the finish line; Carrie Ann- In it to win it.
Judge’s score: Carrie Ann- 10 Len- 10 Bruno- 10 = 30/30
