Tonight was the first night all the stars had to learn two dances for individual performance. One was Ballroom and the other Latin.
The ballroom competition was first and Laila and Maks were first up with the Quick Step.
During rehearsal Laila said she didn’t feel good about being the only female left in the competition and Maks said he really thinks Laila can win the whole thing.
They danced to 'Part Time Love' (note: I am not familiar with all the music so will only mention those songs I knew)
Carrie Ann said Laila knocked her out
Bruno said Laila rose to the challenge and opened the door to Quick Step Heaven. After her performance it will be hard for the others to match her.
Len said the heats on they turned up the gas. Good Quick Step
The judges scores: Carrie Ann - 10; Len – 9; Bruno – 10 Total – 29/30
Next up were John and Edyta doing the Foxtrot
During rehearsal John said his goal is to stay out of the bottom two. Edyta said the Rumba is a very sexy dance and Joan is old enough to be her father (their Latin dance will be the Rumba)
The danced to “That’s Life”
Carrie Ann said their characters matched. Best dance he has done so far and he is hanging with the big boys.
Len said he can relate to what John is going through because they are close in age and that he could never take on what John is doing. It was a great performance but heavy in places
Bruno said it was obvious John had been to dance rehab. It was elegant and he sold it
The judges scores: Carrie Ann – 8; Len – 7; Bruno – 8 Total – 23/30
Apolo and Julianne also did the Foxtrot to “Steppin’ Out”
Carrie Ann said the Foxtrot is a very sophisticated dance and wasn’t sure at their age they could pull it off but they were very sophisticated. She liked it and the footwork was good. It was a very musical, solid and sophisticated performance.
Len said Apolo is a good dancer but he doesn’t want good from him he wants great. He did not think they were sophisticated in their dance
Bruno said it was very sophisticated and elegant and he couldn’t see any bad moves in it. As Carrie Ann said, it was very musical.

Billy Ray and Karina danced the waltz and Billy chose to showcase Karina even though he knew the judges wouldn’t like it. He said he just wants to be himself and have a good time. They danced to “Play Me”
Carrie Ann said even though he has charisma the dance had no content
Len said he always expects fun and enjoys Billy Ray but the only recognizable step in the dance was one that belonged in the Rumba.
Bruno said to call that waltz unconventional would be an understatement. He had the woman doing all the work and it was not good enough.
The judges scores: Carrie Ann – 5; Len – 6; Bruno – 6 Total 17/30
Joey and Kym danced the Foxtrot to “The Way You Make Me Feel” (it took awhile to recognize this the way it was being sung)

“Living in America” was the music for Billy Ray and Karina’s Samba.
Carrie Ann said when she watches she thinks he will be terrible but he gets the steps and has determination and she appreciates it.
