Title: ART Talk - 1/14
dfleminator - January 14, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
Talk about the second episode of the egomaniacal Trump's egomaniacal show right here in this thread!
Diamond Girl - January 15, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
Okay, dflem. I think I'll do that. :)
Alright, so I want to know what guys here at ART would wear those pink male swim trunks.
Trump made the right decision in firing Carey.
Heidi's team pulled off another win. Good for them! I think the one girl on that team (sorry, I can't remember her name) who was complaining about wanting to be a Project Manager is going to be a problem. If Heidi's team ever loses a task or the players on each team are switched up, there will be opportunity for her to be a Project Manager, I'm sure. In the meantime, they're winning. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Hugh Hefner has 3 girlfriends at the same time and they all know about each other? Who knew? The thought of being intimate with Hugh Hefner makes my skin crawl. I'm not surprised Trump is involved with Hefner considering he wants Miss USA to pose for Playboy. They're in L.A. and seem to be promoting sleeze this season.

I haven't actually watched this episode yet, but from what I've been hearing and reading, I think that, yes, Trump did make the right choice in firing Carey. His ideas sunk the task for Arrow. I'm a gay guy and I still wouldn't be caught dead in what he created. Nicole would've been a decent choice, but her ideas got her team most of their numbers, so that's probably why she stayed. Michelle was kind of annoying, but she was the one who was right, so she thus didn't belong in the boardroom. She deserved to stay.
Marisa will indeed be a problem to Kinetic, but I think Heidi did a good job tonight. Again. I'll be happy to see all the Kinetics stay, though. They have a very good dynamic. Good to know they're all guaranteed to still be here next week.
chairo - January 15, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
Diamond Girl ... Hef's 3 girls are old news. They were on the Ellen show a few weeks ago. But you are right ... it is very creepy thinking about being man handled by Hef.
I was pleased with the outcome of the show. Heidi, is doing a great job. I liked Carey but can't think of anyone I'd have fired in his place. I think their team dynamic will change without him. They really haven't found a Heidi who can bring their team together.
I also think Heidi is doing great in the boardroom. She has just enough forwardness to express her opinions intelligently but still seems humble. I like the fact she gives her team credit and doesn't absorb it all herself. Given time there will be a shake up in the teams, and I agree with Dale, there is still plenty of time for others on her team to be PM but she is getting them the wins right now so save the jealousy until the shake up.
dfleminator - January 15, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
What gave me the heebie-jeebies was when Donald Trump was saying how he could probably pull that suit off, but most men in America couldn't... BLECH!
Glad Carey was fired (although I still find Frank annoying). Heidi is still a superstar.
nawlinsgal - January 16, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
I couldnt agree more about wanting to hurl when Donald said he could pull off wearing that pink swim suit...PLEASE
I think next week it's going to get nasty with Arrow competing against each other...they cant' get along working together, them working against each other will be priceless..dog eat dog coming up next Sunday night.
Dale - January 16, 2007 10:39 AM (GMT)
Finally saw the episode on CNBC, and I'm even more positive than ever that Carey going right choice. He just forced his idea on the whole team, and without Project Manager Nicole's approval. A case could also have been made for Nicole's firing, but I think her staying was the right choice. Same with Michelle. She did absolutely nothing wrong. Her team was trying to victimize her just like Excel did with Markus in the early stages of season four. Well, like Chris tried to do with Markus, it didn't work!
I absolutely LOVE Heidi and will be watching her in the coming weeks. I think, for now, she's the one to watch. I want to see the other Kinetics come more into focus, too, though. I got it with Angela, Derek, and Marisa, but I need to see more of Kristine, Muna, Jenn, Aimee, and Surya.
funnygirl - January 16, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
This may come as a shock to most of you, but I firmly disagree with the decision to fire Carey!! Nobody fought with him about his design until it was one of the reasons they didn't win. They had three male suits out there and granted the pink one stood out like a sore thumb, what about the other one? Frankly, I thought all of the male suits were hideous.
I thought the PM should have gone because she annoyed the hell out of me. :D I'm thinking this Heidi love will fade and maybe turn in the weeks to come. It's still early folks! ;)
chairo - January 17, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
Heidi is really looking familiar to me. Does anyone know if she's done any other reality shows?

I'm not shocked at all. A case could definitely have been made to fire Nicole over Carey. She did ultimately approve Carey's design. The problem is, though, that Arrow did well in the women's swimwear, which was thanks to Nicole, Michelle, and Stefani. They lost in the men's swimwear, and that was due to Carey's bad design. And I think it was doing well in the women's swimwear that saved Nicole and doing poorly in the men's swimwear that got Carey booted.
I'm sad that both black dudes are already gone, though.
funnygirl - January 17, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
Okay, let's face it. The first dude was just not cut out for this show. Carey, on the other hand, will be sorely missed at this point in the game by his team. It looks as if Trump is going to keep as many loose cannons as he can until it's inevitable. Drama-drama-drama!
Dale - January 17, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)
The first dude was Martin. And I agree he wasn't cut out for this. Hell, he probably shouldn't even have been on the show. I will miss Carey a lot, though. While he deserved to go, he had potential to do really well on the show. It was like Chris in season four -- a lot of potential, but he lets his obsession with Markus get in his way and makes a firing-worthy because of it.
chairo - January 22, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
SO Michelle is gone. I have to say I agree with Trump. I'd much rather be fired than quit at anything. It was obvious she would be fired and I think she took the cowards way out. Also left her team mates vulnerable if Trump had decided to go ahead and fire someone else. It really was a very selfish move.
funnygirl - January 22, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
Actually, I think it's the first lucid thing anybody from Arrow has done since the show began! :laugh How much humiliation should a person have to endure for the Trump's entertainment? What was she getting out of this? She was looking like a horse's ass, it was obvious she wasn't getting alone with anyone and she was completely out of her element. I also give her props for telling him "this is NOT what I signed up for". These people did not start this game with any inclinication that they would have to "rough it". Function on very little sleep, do rediculous tasks, endure verbal diahrea from a cashmere covered windbag, yes. How far must you be willing to go to have to work somewhere where you are never heard from again? Seriously, when was the last time you heard from any of his other Apprentices from seasons 2-5? I gave her a standing ovation! ;)

I agree with every word of this! She was stuck on a team with a bunch of backstabbers who'd try to get her fired every chance they could from then on, and she thought the job wasn't worth that, or sleeping out in the tents. Plus, in a job interview, as well as convincing the employer, the employer should try and convince the candidate that working for him or her would be worth it. Trump's shown, over the last few seasons, that it isn't. Enough said. I commend Michelle for quitting.
dfleminator - January 22, 2007 07:30 PM (GMT)
I see both sides... but I think they're both made for each other. Trump is a moron, as is Michelle. Her constant trying to pass the buck was sickening. She wasn't ready to be the leader, and she was terrible. I would have loved to have seen the boardroom with her, but I can also agree that the whole "roughing it" thing (I'm not sure that I would consider what they did "roughing it", but then I spent two weeks in Africa...) was not what she signed up for.
funnygirl - January 22, 2007 10:40 PM (GMT)
It is roughing it when you are packed to stay in a hotel and not for sleeping in the great outdoors. The only reason I could not do Surivvor is because they refuse to hold it at the Sheraton Waikiki.
I'm not saying she could have won this thing, but I'm saying the only reason Trump was pissed was because she stole his thunder. Could he have sounded more stupid than he did while he was chastising her? She just kept saying "you're right" and "I'm not sorry". I think she should be a guest-hostess on The View. :laugh
Dale - January 22, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Besides, I think she'll be better off without Trump in her future. At this point, if Trump will make them miserable, Nicole, Frank, and Tim deserve him after their atrocious behavior last night.
dfleminator - January 22, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
I would be interested to know what their atrocious behavior was last night?
Dale - January 23, 2007 12:05 AM (GMT)
Michelle may have been bad at that task, but they were, in many ways, worse. They seemed content with hanging back and waiting for Michelle to fail just so they could get rid of her when (not if) they lost. I mean, yes, Frank and Nicole had their moment with buying the tuxedos, but other than that, they were sorry excuses for team players. And Nicole trying to go to bed when there was still planning to do smacked of Craig and Tana in season three and Dawn on Martha's version. All of them may still go far, but they're not gonna win after that.
dfleminator - January 23, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
I think that sleep was vital to this task. We saw the difference between Stefani and Michelle when they were speaking in the bus. Stefani did well, and she had sleep. The others simply couldn't function because they couldn't sleep.
I didn't see anything in which they were sitting back waiting for her to fail. If anything, they eventually decided to take initiative rather than wait for her to actually lead.
funnygirl - January 23, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I agree dflem. Michelle was being very wishy-washy in the decision making. I would have told her to make a decision and stick with it or get out off the damn bus!! I don't doubt they were all secretly hoping that she would fail because they thought she should have gone before Carey, however, I don't think they went out of their way to sabotage her. In fact, I think, in some capacities, they were more patient with her than I would have been. :oooo
chairo - January 24, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
Michelle was not even suited to lead a girl scout troup. She was wishy washy and refused to make a single decision unless the whole team agreed. So they agreed with her to get things going. They worked from the seat of their pants. Didn't have knowledge of their course and didn't check their equipment prior to getting on the tour bus. I'd have fired the whole group but then Trump is more tolerant than I am. (Now that is saying something isn't it?)
Several of the past winners have had guest appearances on the show. Bill is the one we see the most but a couple of the others have been around, just not in the boardroom. Bill was the best of all the winners and where he has gone (up) solidfies the fact the best man won. Okay now I am second guessing myself ... the first winner was Bill wasn't it? lol
dfleminator - January 24, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
Yes it was, and imo the other winners were all losers.
chairo - January 24, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
I forgot about my feelings on this year's twist. I think it is done soley for the benefit of the viewing audience. I for one would not have stayed on the show if I had discovered there would be a tent there for my living quarters. What in the world does living in a tent, not having running water, no privacy etc have to do with interviewing for a job? I do not believe any person should ask another person to something they themselves would not be willing to do and I doubt seriously if Trump would live in a tent for several weeks with out his comforts. To treat another person differently than you would like to be treated shows a lot about someone's character. I realize this is just television, but in the end it makes Trump look like someone who enjoys making others suffer and I really don't believe that is the kind of person he is.
dfleminator - January 24, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
I agree chairo. In fact, I find the twist so lame that I barely even notice it. It was a desparate grab for ratings.
chairo - February 26, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
So have we all be "trumped" out? Doesn't appear anyone cares that next week he moves to later time and evicts two.
dfleminator - March 2, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
A LATER time?
He was already on too late for me....
chairo - March 5, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Last night was sort of interesting. One guy booted because he called himself 'white trash' and Trump said he wouldn't want 'white trash' working for him. Later the guy said he knew he was going so he was laying it all out ... don't believe that. Jenn was going and she did go. He just got booted before her. I can't say I am unhappy because this guy thought he was 'running' everything and had control over who was going to be fired. Now that we have an all woman team I wonder if trump will mix things up.
funnygirl - March 5, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
I watched last night, but I have to say Trump's self-serving, twisted opinions and rediculous platitiudes just compeltely turn me off!
dfleminator - March 5, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
I watched Heroes instead... Trump gets on my nerves.
Heroes was good... you Americans have an awesome show to look forward tonight!
Dale - March 6, 2007 09:53 PM (GMT)
I understood why he fired Derek. He was also trying to take Alex's approach of just hanging back and waiting for someone else to fail so he could have someone convenient to blame in the boardroom. In an interview with him, he said Trump called him out on just that in the boardroom, although it wasn't shown. He was really fired for that and for trying to be cute with the "white trash" comment. (He should've remembered Erin -- being cute doesn't help at all.)
chairo - March 19, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
Well it looks as if everyone has given up on the Apprentice and I am not sure I blame them. The show is getting sort of lame. I did like tonights episode, probably more than any of the others. The right person got eliminated (Moona, Mona???) I have discovered though that I don't really care who wins. At this point I like Heidi the best, but ...
funnygirl - March 19, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
I haven't, but that's because I have a problem...my name is funnygirl and I'm addicted to reality T.V. :oooo
Who is the broad on Frank's team that's not makin' all over Tim? She lurks in the background, never says much...anyone? :confused
chairo - March 19, 2007 05:37 PM (GMT)
I think it is Stephanie but I won't swear to it. She really doesn't do much and you are right, stays to the shadows. I can't even remember seeing her talk in the boardroom
dfleminator - March 19, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
I tried to get back into it this season, but it's on so late now, that I really haven't been able to watch it.
chairo - March 19, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
dfleminator, I'd like to introduce you to my little friend. His name is DVR LOL!! You really aren't missing much. At least not on Apprentice. It's the night that has two or 3 of my favorite shows that I couldn't survive without DVR.
You noticed I tried to let Funnygirls remark about being addicted to reality TV slip by because YES I TOO am addicted to Reality television shows and if I can't watch one and record the other or do picture in a picture, I just pull out my little portable tv so I can watch them all.
I know somewhere out there, a cure exists and some day I WILL find it, but then of course I'd have to actually be looking for it to be successful in finding it and as of yet, I have not begun my quest for the cure.
dfleminator - March 19, 2007 07:48 PM (GMT)
 My problem is that I don't usually remember to watch anything that I tape...

I watch as well...I'm a late watcher as well though...I am still interested in the show, there are a few people that get on my nerves
