I'd just want to add my two cents worth about the elimination of Ryan Star on Wednesday night. This show is a cop-out, and I sincerely doubt the credibility of it being a"reality show"! Perhaps they've already picked the one to front the band already as rumored.
Who else but Dave Navarro, who's one of the show's Executive Producers, along with the 3 members of Supernova, would offer Ryan such illusions of grandeur regarding his talent and stage versatilty, combined with praises about his being the most evolved person among all the contestants, then have the audacity to eliminate him, at the end of the elimination segment. :angry
His performace rocked the most by the bottom three that night, yet he was criticized for having been not too graceful in his parting speech. I'm certain he was still in shock, as he was led to believe that he did an outstanding job, which in my opinion was a killer performance.
The point is, perhaps this was the best thing that could happen to Ryan. He's better off not fronting Supernova. I've never liked any of their original songs anyway. Ryan Star's original song was way superior and I know he'll be approached by a record label and this will not be the last we will see of him.
Ryan is a star and, his name says it all! Although I will no longer watch the show any longer (what will be the appeal with Ryan gone?), at least Ryan did get exposure from the show and this will lead to bigger and better things for him.
Good luck, Ryan and I look forward to following your works in the future.
:cry
Nan
I have to agree with you. They built him up so big just to cut him loose. I thought him and Dilana were the front runners all along. In the end though I am glad he is gone because I would much rather by his CD solo than with Supernova. I don't really like any of their original songs either.
Welcome RockinmSoul,
I wasn't a Ryan fan in the beginning, but I learned to like him. There's more to him than quite a few of the other contestants and he will do well on his own quite possibly better than SN in the long run. (Seeing as how I expect Jason to just fall down dead of old age any minute now :O
Sorry to hear that you won't be watching the show any more, but I'd probably feel the same if Magni had been cut under similar circumstances.
Hope you hang out though and discuss the other shows you like with us.
I'll have to second your whole post FOB. But Jason was only born in 1963. He's just partied like a Rock Star and you can tell. I couldn't believe he was that young when I looked up the date. It must be a hard life. Lee and Clarke were both born in '62.
As my friend FOB said, Welcome to ART and we DO hope you make it back around here to discuss some the other shows you might watch.
Ok, let me amend what I said about Jason since he's only seven years older than me. I expect him to suffer massive systemic failure at any moment because of the fun-filled life he has led. :oooo
