Most. Predictable. Finale. EVER.

There was no way that Josh couldn't have won. I mean, I like Ty and all, but come on. If Josh hadn't had won, I would have cried foul.

Exactly.

As sad as it it, we all know WHY josh won. I thought ty was funnier, but people are people.....

And I realized how much I missed the other seasons..........

I realized how much I missed Jay Mohr. It was so cool seeing him up on stage, only to be ruined when Android Clark came back out.

It's really the same reason Dat Phan won on his season. It's all about the pity factor.

Ty was robbed!

Ooh, I don't like these kind of posts. I agree 110% that Ty was robbed and should have won based on the notion that he was the funniest of the 4 remaining comics. However, when shows like this are put in America's hands (allegedly...I'm skeptical) it turns into a popularity contest or the producers take over and try and edit the show to make it look as if one individual was preferred over another.

I mentioned after Tuesday night's show that I thought they were editing it to seem as if Josh's set was funnier than Ty's by panning to laughing members of the audience. Luckily enough, I didn't base my vote on what the editor's audience was doing.

Remember the winner of this show, like in the first season, was awarded a possible sitcom deal. I think they have more to work with in Josh's comedy than in Ty's since there are plenty of shows based on Ty's comedy already out there.

It will be interesting to see if they can come up with a sitcom that is based around Josh's cerebral palsey and make it funny.

Not to worry, I think Ty is going to be a huge success. ;)

Oh, well I'm sooooo glad that you didn't fall for it funnygirl. You seriously think that people thought Josh was funnier because they saw some people laughing at it? I could see how this could be done on a show like American Idol, but with LCS, funny is so subjective (as you said yourself in an earlier post) and people know what makes them laugh. They don't have to be a trained comedian to hear what is funny and what is not, and they don't need to see someone laughing to let them know that it's funny.

Sorry, but I don't buy that excuse for one second.

I didn't say that people voted for Josh because of the editing, I said they edited to make it look like Josh was funnier than he actually was. You just gotta disagree with me. Jeeze!!

:laugh

Josh is pretty much a one trick pony is he not? Say what you will about Dat Phan (and I know you will...) but I actually thought he was pretty funny on the finale. Funnier than Josh anyway

FatOld&Bald - August 17, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
JB, Josh may be a one trick pony, but it's a funny trick and he's a likable guy (not to say that many of the others aren't likable as well.) I've always thought Dat was funny. It's obviously better to win the show then not, but I think the widespread exposure that the comics get is valuable too. I hope the show's renewed.

uhm...ok. It's just my opinion. I don't think he was all that funny. Remember what I said at the very very beginning of this show... I've seen his act before--back in the 80's when Geri Jewell was doing it. I stick by that. you're entitled to your opinion also.
