My favorite of the night was Toby. I think he's got the look and the voice. I would like to see some of the women step up, but I wasn't impressed by any of them except Patrice. Jill, who they liked last week did not impress me. She pulled the whole Courtney Love think and then Dave called her on it and she totally denied it. I mean if you are going to come out in the white dress and roses like Love did on her album cover, own up to it. Dana wasn't so bad performing "Born to be Wild," but I did have to laugh when Tommy Lee said he thought it was more "Born to be Mild." Then she started talking about her lepord print top and fishnets... :suspicious I don't think she's right for the band. Lukas did good. He's got that look that's kind of dirty, but he's very interesting. Some have been comparing him to JD and I want it to stop... NOW. There's a difference in confidence and arrogance. *lpatrick steps down off her box*
ETA: I really enjoyed Dilana's version of Johnny Cash's "Ring Of Fire." She rocked the house with that. Josh is a great singer, but a little boring.
Bottom three should be: Chris, Ryan, and Patrice

I can't wait for tonights show - we have it here at 8.30pm tonight (Up against the Finale of Prison Break!!!) so the VCR will be working overtime for one of them. :S:
Glad to hear that Toby did well. There was an interview with him in one of the local mag's last week. He said that he was going to pull out of the show, then they got him in contact with MiG and he told him not to - at worst he will get a recording contract out of the show.
I'm with you LP on the comparison to JD. (Even though I lurve JD and can't wait to see INXS in Sept!!! ) Idid admire Lukas last week when he bluntly asked who would be in the botton 3 - fair question in my book.
I also have to admit to being a bit of a closet Tommy Lee fan - he has this wierd kind of sex appeal that I am not sure how to describe.

on the confidence/arrogance - I think both JD and Lukas have arrogance. It's one thing to ask someone in a casual conversation who may be in the bottom three, but to challenge someone to answer that in front of the group is a bold statement (and poor people skills). That said, he is a talented and interesting performer.
I have thrown many votes Lukas' way, but made sure to give many to Toby, since I like his style, and he adds the eye appeal!
It sounded like people were going out of their way to make their performances "harder" and it times it seemed forced to me. I thought Tommy Lee said at the beginning of the series that they weren't necessarily going to be hard rock, but their reactions/feedback indicate that they will be - which makes sense. But why did some of these performers make it through the auditions when that just isn't what they are?
Enjoyed Ring of Fire. She's creative, that one.

I am sure that put some people in the final 16, just so that they do have some "bad performers" in the first few weeks or people that are NEVER going to fit the bill for the band . That way the good singers are fighting with in themselves for the better songs and dig a little deeper to bring out their best. The veiwers then sort out the trash from the treasure.
Does that make sense or not? Think of last year - there was no way Heather, Brandon or the fist guy that went( sorry- can't remember his name) were ever going to front INXS.
Glad to hear that you are voting for Toby. Go the little Aussie!! I taped the show last night and it is about to be repeated on pay TV, so hopefully I can get Seseame Street off the TV and watch Rockstar! See me a little Tommy!
