Talk about tonight's very first show in here.

All in all, it was an excellent show. My recap is forthcoming hopefully within the next 24 hours.
Definitely some high points, and some low points. There's some really strong competition here!

How tall would you guess the last performer to be? Is it just me or does he seem a few inches away from being a "little person"? He's the only boy in this competition I can see fronting this band.
The denomic chick that sang Lithium could hold her own as the band's frontwoman.
The chick from Georgia who could "help keep you alive" is dead in the water.
Don't even get me strated about the ENya wnannabe Puerto Rican chick.

I think I can agree with you on all those points... If you go to
http://rockstar.msn.com they have the song-picking episode online, and it's interesting to see Zayra singing a song for the band at the beginning. It was pretty awful.

It is hard to know exactly what the "Band" are looking for in a lead singer as they have never performed together and do not have a back catalogue a la INXS last season.
The three that I liked after the first performance are:
Dilana - because she has wild hair, isn't a spring chicken full of her own ideals and she sounded great. The guys gave her a semi standing ovation and Tommy was speechless. I actually think the other guy was wishing that he had saved his marriage proposal for her!!
Patrice - she looked the "Rock chick" part, sounded good and played up to the band. Something that I think the boys in the band will like.
And lastly, being the little Aussie that I am, Toby the Aussie guy. He sounded great, the girls loved him and the guys in the band seemed to like him too. Plus I think that he has a good little bit of sex appeal - which all know gets you in with the female veiwers on Rockstar.
Only time will tell............

Wrong thread maybe cuz the elimination show has aired. I was so surprised the Enya-like singer wasn't in the bottom. I haven't really learned the names yet. I was surprised when the guy who was eventually eliminated was in the bottom 3. But when he announced his choice to impress the band, you knew he was cooked.
Guess I should learn the names before I post again, sorry!

OK - I have a problem down here. :O
Rockstar is broadcast here on cable TV and we get it "hot off the satelite" hours after it is shown in the Northern hemishere so that we too can vote. For some silly reason the elimination show is not on this week here in Australia. I have read the recap on another website so am up to speed with you all, but still not that happy that I have missed it.
Plus this year they have changed the voting - you have to either SMS or vote with you cable remote and get charged anyway. I loved last year you could vote online.
Go the Aussie anyway!! :D

I hate the voting too urbangirl. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have voted anyway. I was sorry to see Mr. Chicago go, but Duran Duran? He was begging for the boot. :laugh

I just caught the end of the show last night when they were doing the elimination. And I can tell you that if you want a chance with the likes of Tommy Lee and Jason Newsted you better bring something more than Duran Duran. I'll be watching this season now.
