From NBC.com
Chicago native Kathy Griffin is a multi-faceted performer who is probably best known for her four-year stint on the NBC sitcom "Suddenly Susan" as Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' acerbic colleague.
After moving west and joining the famed Los Angeles Groundlings comedy improvisational troupe, Kathy Griffin began building her resume with guest starring roles on such series as "ER," and also appeared as the recurring character Sally Weaver on "Seinfeld." After her various TV guest spots, Kathy began gaining notice as a stand-up comedian and landed her own HBO Half-Hour Comedy Special. In 1998, HBO gave Griffin her own one-hour special, "A Hot Cup of Talk."

Griffin has supplied voices for characters on the animated series "Dilbert" and "The Simpsons," and she appeared in a dual role on the "X-Files" as well as in Eminem's video, "The Real Slim Shady," co-directed by Dr. Dre. Kathy co-hosted The Billboard Music Awards three years in a row, appeared on numerous talk shows including "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Howard Stern" and "The View" and has been featured in the films "It's Pat" and "Four Rooms," among others.

Kathy has a great passion for reality TV. She participated in and won "Celebrity Mole" on ABC, hosted the NBC reality series "Average Joe" and hosted the MTV series "Kathy's So-Called Reality." Kathy released her hilarious comedy stand-up on DVD, "Allegedly," which is in stores now. In August 2005 Kathy's reality show, "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List," debuted on Bravo as well as her stand-up special "Kathy Griffin...Is Not Nicole Kidman." The second season of her hit reality show premieres Tuesday June 6 on Bravo.

Aww... Kathy, Kathy, Kathy. It looks like someone's been having a little bit too much surgery - but we'll pretend like we still love you. Or that we ever loved you.

Why is she a judge? Is she even funny? Would she have made it past the first round herself? I can wait a few weeks to see her.

She's pretty good when she does stand-up. She's just annoying everywhere else  So, as far as a judge, she's probably a good choice. As long as she doesn't talk too much (I know that's like telling a seal not to eat fish or make that weird barking noise, but still...)

I bet your not as big of a fan as my buddy Newman :P

I think a lot of the stuff she does on camera is a persona and that there are glimpses in her charity work and her love of her friends and her dogs of the real her.
