Well we've made it to the end. By 9:00 CST INXS will have a new lead singer. The clinic was about song writing. They were all supposed to show to a meeting with Andrew (?) with some lyrics down. Marty's lyrics were stellar and I can't wait to hear the final product. Mig's were too cookie cutter for my liking and when Andrew tried to add some harsher lyrics Mig looked stunned but acquiesced. JD showed up with a couple of words written down on a piece of paper and Andrew was none too happy. :angry

When they got back to the mansion they found they had the entire catatlog of songs performed this season to choose from. This is what ultimately ended up being their picks.

Marty thinks Mig is making a huge mistake in picking a Queen song no matter how much Mig tried to justify it. Did Marty do anything to change his mind? Nope.

The boys pack their bags and their guitars and head out of the mansion to venture forward, upward or back to Vegas, Pretty Vegas that is. :laugh

I heard an interview today for our local radio station in Columbus with my girl Suzi, she seems to think that they've had JD as the pick since the beginning because he sounds like the old lead signer apparently. So I wouldn't be suprised if JD wins tonight :angry

I have to admit that the whole show was great , but what I hated was JD attitude. I will never buy a INXS album again., Marty should've won this contest. It should've ended with us the fans voting. You knew from the beginning
that jd was the winner. That new song "Easy something somthing.. f****** sucks ! This is gonna be another Rubien and Clay type s***. Marty and Clay with sell more albums.. and Inxs will be srewed. They should've listened to marty thoughts about making inxs adjust to a beeter sound. That pop rock is over.

I HATE JD and I too, am no longer a fan of INXS as of last night. It's all downhill from here.

It was a bad move on the band's part because JD is either loved or hated, there is no middle ground when it comes to him. Though they gained some new fans, I think they lost many more by choosing JD. He is an Elvis impersonator who needed a job to have a place to live. Pity......
He already had a huge ego and he was a nobody. he will ruin this band in no time and I will be there to see it all fall apart! Bye bye INXS.

All right just calm down now people. I know you're all disappointed, I am too. Let's not write off INXS because of JD. He's only with the band for a year. You never know what can happen. I just couldn't help but notice that apparently INXS fells more comfortable being fronted by a man who is manic, unpredictable and has a poor work ethic. That's their problem, not mine. :laugh

I don't like the new song and I think I've mentioned I don't like "Pretty Vegas" a time or two. :D I'm just glad that Marty will be touring with them. He now has the capacity to spread his wings as wide as he needs without being hindered by creative differences. ;)

You can tell inxs always wanted jd. Remember the time when marty won encore for the song "Trees" and marty was about to head to the front stage and the band inxs was like " Oh today we also wanna hear "dirty vegas" too . I was like omg , marty won the f***ng votes , why are they letting jd sing too. Thats the night when he's like , "thank you everyone" "this one is for the fans" " do you want it elactric or acoustic " ? omg , that should've been only marty spotlight. I think thats the reason why marty destroyed the guitar. It was a deep way of saying this contest is all about jd winning. You can also notice when marty sang his last song with inxs that he didn't even care about even showing any love to the band. Not once did marty sing next to a inxs member. I'm glad he did that. jd was a kiss ass from the start. Even kissing almost all the band memebers..lol what a kiss ass. He reminds me of a underground "Enrique Iglesias" wannabe. but with no father to lean on.. It pisses me off that they even had a contest. Everyone voted for nothing. You knew they weren't even gonna select a girl. They only keeped the sucide blonde just so they won't look bad. but I as a fan notice that. I have so many "GREAT IDEAS" that INXS should've done with the program and the future of their band but I'm not gonna say them here or on any board. F*#K INXS ! the writers of the show "CHOKED ! and what about Carmen Electra husband..lol always trying to take advantage by saying" When you make your album and you need a gutarists give me a call and I'll do it..lol come on man,, that was so weak. "keep those thoughts to yourself. If your so "highclass" then shut the f&#k up !

I watched the entire series cheering for Marty but hoping he did not win. INXS is not relevent any more. Sure, I was a fan-like 20 years ago. They needed JD to remain status quo. Which is fine with me. You could tell near the end Marty did not want to front this band. Who could blame him. He is way better than they are. Looking forward to his album.

You and I and everyone else can buy Marty's CD when it drops. He is amazing. And I too am glad he didn't win. When JD performed that last song, "Easy, easy" I had to look hard at the TV because he sounded exactly like Michael!! I think that's why he was chosen. INXS doesn't want a new sound. They want a carbon copy.

Much success to Marty!!!! He has an amazing voice and incredible stage presence. He was not my favorite at the beginning, but now he is truly the total package for a rockstar without all the arrogance!

I think Marty should team up with the house band. They actually sound better then INXS.

Wellll, I have to say I was surprised that they picked JD. I really did think it would be either Marty or Mig. Mig, as you know by now, was MY pick, but oh well. I will still love INXS and I will still love Michael Hutchence. No one could have ever taken his place, but .. the band members picked who THEY thought would be the best fit for them , so you have to respect their opinion. They know alot better than US. Speaking of which, I'm glad that THEY pick and not America. People voting ten trillion times for someone that wouldn't fit the band at all would have been a total disaster !! :oooo

Well, I never really watched the show, but I heard the single on my way home from work today, and of course, I am from New Brunswick, which is pretty close to where JD is originally from, so there's a LOT of excitement. I didn't mind the single to tell you the truth...

Oh my! I don't know if it's safe for me to post here but I will anyway. I am really happy with their choice even if most of you are not. Like lisab said, it was clear that Marty stopped giving it his all a couple of weeks ago. He has talent, he'll be fine in the future. I do agree that JD sounded a LOT like Michael in the last song but it's the first time I noticed it.
Furthermore, it's only for a year and then they'll go back into oblivion. Let's enjoy it (or not lol) while it lasts.

Just found your forum. Have been posting on a similar forum in the UK since the program started.

I wanted to let you know that in the good old UK, the general opinion was that Marty should have won, and almost all posters to the forum felt that JD was a W**ker!! :O

I hope we can get Marty's album here, Trees is a classic.

Roll on American Idol....we get that too :D
